Are you a troll? Do you know what the Norris trophy is for? Makar, Josi, Fox and ... Muzzin??? That's wild and I don't mean Minnesota.

Blow It Up
That Burns trade is a disaster. There seems to be a huge range in which people see his value but you can't overlook the amount of minutes he can play and that he still generates a lot of offense. I hate the turnovers too but I really don't think he's just a cap dump. I have no interest in Donskoi's return. He's not terrible but his offensive output is only the result of being around talented teammates.
Reimer is worth way more to the Sharks than a 3rd. His asking price to a contender should be a 2nd and a prospect. It's not that I think he has crazy value, I just don't see the Sharks moving him unless the offer is high.
So that Couture trade... wow. I don't think he's worth his $8 mil/year but yikes. Moving down in the draft to get someone to take him? No way. If they want to blow it up and trade him, maybe send him to a contender with 30% retention for a 1st but he's not going anywhere yet.
I like Gregor and I wouldn't move him plus a useful middle-six PK forward to bring back Studnicka.
I'd be surprised if any team wants to give up a 2nd for Labanc. At this point, it's probably better to hope he bounces back and ups his value.
The Vlasic trade is probably fair but I think the Sharks would rather buy him out this offseason or next than give up a 1st and more.

Yeah I have to think the goalie they trade is Hill but I don't see the Sharks trading and retaining on Reimer unless the offer is a 1st. I don't think Reimer is worth a 1st (or legit prospect) but I don't see the Sharks making a deal for less.

I don't know anything about Raphael Lavoie but I'd love that trade for the Sharks. My guess is that they trade Hill but he won't fetch more than a 3rd. Maybe a low 2nd but I don't think a prospect needs to be added. If Kane is returned to the Sharks (which is unlikely), I could see the 2nd + Lavoie being the return for Kane and Hill. That'd be a great trade for both teams.

Not take-backs on that Vlasic trade. We would love to get rid of him and his awful contract for pretty much anything.
You should probably know though that Vlasic is a defense-only No. 4 defensemen at this point in his career (and is making $7 million). You don't want him.

Sharks give TB some cap relief
TB is almost $2 mil over the cap. Trading Killorn would clear almost $4.5 mil, leaving about $2.5 million to sign Cirelli and Cernak. Even if Cirelli signs for $4 mil/year and Cernak for $1 mil/year (both well below their values), the Lightning still need to cut cap space.

Hopefully Simek. I know people love how well the Sharks played when he was in the lineup but I see a replaceable defender who offers zero offense and has several years left at more than $2 mil. The Sharks are stuck with Vlasic, they have Ferraro, and assuming one of Pasichnuk, Knyzhov, or Kniazev can be NHL players, then that's our left side.

As I wrote in the description, it would be a sign and trade deal (frequently happens in the NBA and occasionally in the NFL). To clarify, Hoffman would be part of the trade process and would agree to terms with whatever contending team he was deciding to sign with, making the Sharks the middle man. It would be organized between the teams, unlike the last time Hoffman was a Shark.

I know, it wouldn't work for retaining salary. Some sort of glitch, I'm not sure why it didn't work tonight (and it wasn't because I was going over 50%, it wouldn't work for even $1 mil).

I don't totally disagree with your line of thinking, but I really think the Sharks need to hold onto the 2021 first-rounder. They can't lose another potential lottery pick.
Also, if we give up that 1st, we better get back a better player than Dylan Strome.

What happened to Haula? Was it the injury? Team situation? He had a great year for Vegas and got a reputation for being a quick, versatile, two-way forward who added offense -- then got hurt. Can he rebound?

Offseason Review
It's hard to not expect DW to have done something with so many UFAs available at such a discount. Maybe he still has a trick up his sleeve, but it sucks to see guys who could really help the Sharks sign cheap deals for other teams. Sorenson needs to get traded, Marleau provides essentially the same production but is half the cost.

I'd be shocked if he went that low, but after Toffoli signed for about $4.5, maybe Dadonov signs for under $4 million given his age and the market.

I'm not that high on Blichfeld but -- and I know this goes against absolutely, positively every single Leafs AGM team on this site -- the Sharks aren't using the last of their cap space to give up a pick for Andreas Johnsson, certainly not giving up a pick and a prospect.

Simek is worth more than that, for sure, but he's certainly not a top defenseman. I don't like how long they signed him for, but that contract is pretty reasonable. He adds almost zero offense, had a rough year, and has a very low ceiling, but he shouldn't be given away.
The Sharks are probably giving up on Jeremy Roy.
