I apologize to those who didn't value sarcasm...LOL

Stats aren't everything. For instance is plus/minus is zero in the past three weeks.

Vegas Golden Knights signed Marc-André Fleury (3 Years / $7,000,000 AAV)
You have to remember Fleury is one of the faces of the franchise. He was the best Goalie in free agency. The Knights also have a lot of financial flexibility for the next three years. It's overpayment, but its fine, and I expected it.

Good signing. Highly underrated guy. You would not think he is a good player if you looked at his AHL numbers but this guy is as good as a two-way forward can be.

New York Islanders signed Robin Lehner (1 Year / $1,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dahlin_On_Me</b></div><div>Or was he the worst goalie in the league? He's a hot head on the ice (fact) and rumors in the Buffalo media is he is unhealthy in the dressing room (speculation). I put little weight on the media though.
For 1.5M, yes good signing, little risk. Hopefully he can turn things around for his sake and the NYI, but I must say he was my least favorite Sabre. Lost us a lot of games and sucks on shootouts (can't blame D on those)</div></div>
Sorry Sabres fan, but your D till last season stinks. That's a fact and everyone knows that. Even many other Sabres fans agree with me. It's not a coincidence that your GM focus in his D in the draft. With those players your team would stay at the bottom of the table forever. Now you guys have Dahlin and that's can be the beginning of a new era in Buffalo. We'll see what's gonna happen...
As for Lehner, well...I'm not saying he's a great goalie or something. But he's not that bad as you said. He had a very solid season playing for the Sens. A very good backup for Anderson back in that time. Sometimes he had to be the starter and he's stand very well in that role. I think neither legendary goalies like Brodeur or Hasek, for example, would led your team to the first middle of the table.
Anyway, good luck for your team in their rebuild.

Thread:
(BUF / STL) - Thompson, Berglund, Sobotka for O'Reilly
I think this is a fair deal for both sides, and I am sure the Blues are happy with getting out of Berlunds and Sobotkas contracts. Thompson showed promise but was painfully inconsistent and looked lost at times, so no big deal giving him up with the pool of prospects the Blues have coming. I think Boterill will eventually flip one of the contracts for some additional prospects and picks at the trade DL. Blues now have the depth at center they have desired for years.... but O Reilly brings with him some lockerroom baggage and his skating leaves something to be desired. I think he is a bit overpaid but it is worth the price for a team that is ready to win now. I am interested to see how the Sabers use the players they acquired, as well as future plans for the rebuild. Here is wishing the best out of the trade for both teams.

Thread:
(BUF / STL) - Thompson, Berglund, Sobotka for O'Reilly
I think this is a great trade for both sides because the BLUES get the Center they need and the Sabres get two solid "Place Holders" while their draft picks continue to develop, plus a 1st round pick and 2nd Round pick. These two picks will help Buffalo add studs to their prospect pool. With this 1st round pick the Sabres now have THREE 1st rounders for next years draft. They will most likely finish close to the top of the draft so they will get another huge stud player plus two more high end players along with ALL their remaining picks. The Sabres have all their draft picks for the next 3 years so it's good for them going forward. As for TAGE THOMPSON they got a huge big player who can score and will play right now. In addition to all this Buffalo did not have to pay Ryan O'Reilly his big 7.5 million dollar bonus so BAM that's big for Buffalo. In the end of this trade, unless the BLUES win the Stanley Cup and Ryan scores a lot in the playoffs to get them there the SABRES ARE THE CLEAR WINNER and they get the chicken dinner.

Only time will tell if Carter can sustain his numbers.
He´s a good character guy and a netminder. I guess Buffalo can use both of that.

Hutton will be a a great goaltender for the Sabres. He is better than Robin Lehner and Chad Johnson by leaps and bounds.

I would give Botterill, on a scale of zero to ten with ten at excellent and zero at fail, a seven. The Sabres are a point producing forward and a puck clearing defenseman away from being relevant. Botterill has not addressed those needs today.

Dude, look at the D core Pens have had for their cup runs w/ Crosby. It's been mediocre at best.

I don't think Toronto should have pursued Tavares like this. Way too much money for him. Matthews is going to take even more to keep, and you also have Nylander and Marner to sign as well.
