<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan10900</b></div><div>He'll be a fine 2nd line player, I just don't see super high upside. With Simashev's skating he easily has the highest ceiling in the group, Dvo is remarkably talented too, just a bit inconsistent, and imo Perreault also has a higher upside and is a bit riskier but was certainly not just tagging along on that line, he can drive play himself. (And Reinbacher is Reinbacher, I'm lower on him too, imo ASP is the number 1 d man in the class, but he's still better than the rest of those guys)</div></div>
Well. I disagree with your whole entire take. But I respect your opinion! Thanks for the reply.

offseason 5
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan10900</b></div><div>Bunting, I counted Colton bc I'm dumb, Graves, I would argue Kampf bc you're paying him 2 mil, and Phillips if you're gonna play him on the top line those seem like specific targets. But mostly just banking on signing Bunting, I see him being signed to like 85% of teams on here lol. (Not a big deal, I just wouldn't bank on him in particular until I see it)
Graves is fine defensively, he's better than Dumo (very low bar) but nothing special, but I would rather play MP with Letang, and get a 2nd pair DFD to play Petry or POJ
That's true, but I also feel like Dubas is not gonna be afraid to shake up the roster big time to try to win now</div></div>
Phillips is really a let's see what he can do signing. I simply placed on the 1st line because hes better suited for a top 6 role imo and well why not add some speed to Sid's line.
Butting in my books seems like someone Kyle Dubas is most likely going to target hard in FA unless we re-sign Zucker which would lead to Dubas focusing more on bottom 6 options.
Instead of Graves, who would you like to see?

True, but like I said, in an ideal world, we would go out and get a legit top 4 left shot two way-DFD type dmen to play with Letang or Petry leaving POJ/Ty Smith to play with Rutta on the 3rd pair

Im ok with the pens right side and if we were to swap it up, it would be for a younger two way oriented dmen and honestly, I doubt we move on from Petry or Rutta, so it comes down to who they want to upgrade the left side. For me, the options are, Grzecyk, Graves, Soucy, Potentially Hanifin or Zadorov, Brodie can also move to the left side as he is a lefty. Ideally I want Graves if we go the FA route and if the Flames decide to move on from Hanifin, He would be my ideal target.

Pens need a Two Way left handed dmen, not right handed unless we were to move the likes of Petry or Jan Rutta. But as of right now, this trade is a no go

What would a Pesce trade look like
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Drshnuckels91</b></div><div>Theres two possibilities in a Pesce trade
1. RNH for Pesce swap with carolina adding a 2nd or 25'1st
2. Broberg and Edmontons 25' 1st for Pesce
I don't see any other pieces from Edmonton which would intrigue Carolina</div></div>
RNH I'd argue doesn't have the value of Pesce. Yes, he had a 100 point season. But his career average before that is 50. Pesce puts up 30, and with an extension is younger and harder to replace.
As for other things EDM have that would intrigue the Canes, there's a guy wearing 29 and a guy wearing 97. Otherwise, even RNH I don't think would interest Carolina

Got his stride back at age 24 and had a very solid points production season.
He's NOW in his prime and ready to dominate. I predict 70 to 80 points on whichever team trades for him.
Can you tell I'm trying to "sell" him?</div></div>
you're doing a good job of it tbh. but the avs can't really part with more. and if PLD's list of teams he would agree to a trade with is only 5 or so long, this is a great deal.

Penguins
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan10900</b></div><div>I also don't really want/expect a clearly defined starter/backup, I'd try to get a 1A/1B setup with say Jarry and Vej (or 2 of your choosing between the guys available).
I agree Vej was bad 2 yrs ago, but very few goalies are consistently great, so I'll take a risk with a guy that was good last yr vs a guy that wasn't (also, yeah, I only use MP for goalies bc they adjust for rebounds and arena biases better than other sites)</div></div>
That I can understand at least - thought you were arguing for him as the starter. Depends on what you have to give up for Vejmelka. I still don't really think he's even an upgrade over Desmith - but if you're giving up minimal assets to bring him in as a backup - I'm not going to argue passionately against it.
Right - but the thing is Vejmelka has never been great. Even his great season last year resulted in a .899 save%. And I'm trying to look at the whole picture too. He doesn't get the benefit of a history of being great - say like a Gibson or a Hart(even a Campbell or Blackwood) where you can say oh maybe it was a rough year or two but he's a bounce back candidate. And he isn't a promising prospect where you could argue there's great upside - he's already 27. It's one metric, from one site, for one year. I just can't see where there's enough to make him look good.
If MP GSAx from last year is all we're going by - then the best option I see is trading for Wedgewood. Then signing Korpisalo. Then trading for Samsonov.

Yeah. If anything, the Wild might consider moving Hartman at the deadline if a 1st is being offered and they're out of the race. That deal might make sense for the Pens at that point if they're limited on cap space and the pick looks to be in the mid-20s, but yeah, the Pens need Pettersson.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan10900</b></div><div>Yeah, this is the one Guentzel trade I would remotely consider (and I would do it in a heartbeat). Toews fills so many needs, team friendly contract, a legitimate two way defenceman, and he is younger than most of the core lol. All these trades of Guentzel for a 24 first an average 3rd liner and middle 6 prospect bc the pens need cap space and youth do nothing for a team that's trying to win now lol</div></div>
I hear you, thats’s why we want to keep him! The thing is that Colorado and Pittsburgh is a bad match in this case. Pittsburgh doesn’t have the assets Colorado need, except a certain #87 ofc, and that will unfornatuely, never in a million years happen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan10900</b></div><div>Yeah, I wouldn't trade more than a 2nd and 3rd/mid spec for him, and I can almost guarantee Dubas won't in PIT bc Dubas has never spent big on Gs before, and I'm gonna guess he's gonna notice that it's been 4 yrs since Gibby has been league average
Also there are plenty of guys who have been much better over the past few yrs that could be had for cheaper in terms of $ and assets. Also G is only one of the pens issues, it would be far smarter to use Pickering, 14, and the 24 first for a legit top 4 d man and top 6 F than a G</div></div>
I think the Pens are set in their top 6. Especially if they bring back Zucker. They could use a top 4 LH dman.
I don't see them trading 2023 1st for anything short of a massive game changer (Saros, Keller, Marner, etc.)
