Hawks wouldn’t be interested in either of those proposals… and yes I know Ceci’s proposal says “anywhere”, I am answering from a Chicago viewpoint, they will not give up anything for him.

I think I would prefer to make this a 2025 1st (lottery protected) with nothing coming back and use that 13th pick for a player like Chychrun (extended) now. But its interesting and something to think about

None of these teams say yes, the MTL trade is probably the closest to saying yes but no one else is anywhere close to it.
Edit: I did not notice there was a 50% retention on the MTL trade so I retract my statement. None of these teams are even close to accepting.

Columbus is three years into their rebuild. Even if he <em>was </em>tradable this summer, they're not punting a 21yo former 5th OA pick for a late first next year and an an insignificant LHD prospect who was drafted the same year as Johnson.</div></div>
While I agree this trade would never happen on either side, referring to Del Mastro as insignificant is extremely short sighted and bordering on ignorance.

If I were the GM of the Hawks (clearly, I'm not) I'd try to work out something where we get their 1st and if I needed to send a 2nd back while taking on Anders Lee...I'd do that. We have a ton of picks. I'd find creative ways to help out other teams with their cap situation...Send a pick back so they're still at least acquiring pieces for their farm system, but we have picks so we'd like a better pick.

I'm not so sure a 2nd rounder gets it done for the Hawks. I agree AL isn't a pure cap dump. I also admit to you that the Hawks could use another veteran in their locker room. It's still a $7M cap hit though.

Smith isn't worth a 3rd to Chicago at the moment. Maybe another team would be interested but Chicago needs to focus on adding guys to their top six.

I can see how what I said made it seems that way, but I wasn't trying to act like Dvorak is the main piece. Meant to say that from an organizational perspective, how is this a forward move for the Wild? A top 5 pick... who cares? Boldy is a proven top 6 star and the Wild are trying to compete now.

It's taken Petry his entire career to land back in Detroit. He isn't waiving to go to Chicago or anywhere else. If by some miracle he did waive, Hawks would probably take him for a 3rd, not a 4th.

The 2024 Leafs Fall Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>3 years at 2.4 million is not a bad contract. The center UFA market isn't deep this year so the Leafs can definitely move him if they wanted to. A team like the Sens could be making changes this offseason, they might target veterans in trades.</div></div>
If it’s not a bad deal why are you and every other Leafs fan trying to dump Kampf on other teams?
Hawks also decline, they have enough sub 6 ft forwards, not giving up a 2nd round pick for LTIRobertson.

Hawks decline. If the Canucks want to free up that cap space, they can fork over a 2nd. See Jason Dickinson trade for reference.

Solidifying Bottom Six And Getting a Winger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Tampa Bay would probably give the Devils a 3rd for Bahl. Hawks probably consider that Holtz offer. The only thing that might hold them back is Holtz's skating. But I'd like to see what Holtz could do playing w/ Bedard. And Guentzel gets more than $6.5m per. More like $8m to $8.5m.</div></div>
Holtz hasn't lived up to expectations, but I think he's worth taking a chance on if the price is only a 2nd round pick. The Hawks have 8 second round picks in the next 3 years, not to mention 5 first round picks. I think they can afford to take a chance on a young forward for a second round pick.

Lukas Reichel vs Justin Barron - Thoughts
It's an interesting discussion but highly doubt Chicago seriously considers this. Reichel is in his first NHL season after only getting a 23 game taste at the end of last season where he looked very solid. He did not look good this season and was sent down to the AHL where he performed well again at almost a ppg same as last season. He was just brought up again in the last 4 games and has looked good.
Barron has more games in the NHL and seems to be struggling as well but over two seasons not one like Reichel. It's a bit splitting hairs, but Reichel's upside is a top 6 player whereas Barron's upside is a 3rd liner maybe 2nd liner at best. Add to it, the Hawks have Jones, Murphy (for now), plus a very strong prospect in Sam Rinzel who is projected as a top 4 RHD. I don't see Barron being a better prospect then Rinzel and I do see Reichel still being a definite top 9, but with time and patience a top 6. Hawks are VERY thin with top 6 prospects and for that reason coupled with the above, I don't see them biting on this.

I know Entwistle has elite potential but if he's offered that contract he may want to test free agency and get McDavid type money.
Side note, I assume you added one too many zeros.

If the Habs dont win the lottery
It'd cost a 3rd to dump Dvorak alone. Hawks will keep the ****ty but still young goalie that helps them tank for another season or 2.
