I did not say he wouldn't be an upgrade I said I don't want to give up Kurashev who is showing good chemistry with Bedard. I also said I like the hawks LD for the future: Korch, Vlassic, Del Maestro, and Allan, etc.

Kurashev has been stappled to Bedard for while now, and the Hawks like what they have at LD (for the future at least lol). I doubt they accept this.

I never actually thought about flexing your tax free status to counter offer sheets. Great Point.

All in all OS are so rare so no worries at all!</div></div>
That is definitely fair, I wish we saw more of them. Unfortunately NHL GMs are boring and don't want to offend each other along with the other reasons you also mentioned above.

If lundy gets offer sheeted at like 4.5x4 would you take the 1st and 3rd, or would you move a guy like Rodrigues or Loustarinen to match it?

What would be your plan if Lundell gets Offer Sheeted? Lets say somewhere in the 4.5 - 6.5 range so you would get a 1st and a 3rd back.

If you went this route the much more difficult part would be when those forwards on rookie deals come up. I am also very curious to see Tuch's next deal....he loves it in buffalo, but he has also been really friggin good.

I feel like I knew a good chunk of their player numbers when I started reading this and somehow I think I forgot some along the way:tearsofjoy

not sure that Seattle views Tanev as a cap dump. He is still hitting dudes, and he is still on their first PK unit.

Hawks take that, but they don't need you guys to retain half. Even w/out retention I think you are overpaying to dump Lee tbh.

Unless the Hawks move Murphy he is to the hawks. He certainly could get an asset from another team, but I doubt it would be much.

I agree with this, I like most of the targets but I doubt we go after this many of them.

Can we recreate roster from the fringes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeynutter</b></div><div>He could very possibly but has also struggled quite a bit this year which can hurt his overall value. That deal is higher than his current deal and would depend on the cap of the Knights whom seem to love their big swings and that of other teams after they get their fish. Stephenson in previous years could have trouble due to the cap. This year with the increase, he has a better chance to actually get paid more but the cap era has always led to players signing for less than the envisioned. If not Stephenson, we use the cap space for another player similar willing to accept around the 3 million like O'Reilly etc ...</div></div>
When he signed his current deal he had never broke 20 points. Now he is coming off 3 straight 50 point (Maybe even 60 pt) seasons with at least one incredible playoff run in there. He is also good in the faceoff circle and very defensively responsible. If he takes a contract anywhere near that number it will certainly not be on a one year deal.

I disagree, he has trade protection and 3 years left, I would say a 2nd is an underpayment if anything.

Def helps that Florida is tax free, I agree probably somewhere 9-10 but I wouldn't be shocked if it was even lower tbh.
I also kinda doubt he gets more than Barkov(10 mil) or Chucky(9.5)
