Would love to add Dumoulin. Played vs him in highschool and with him on the Maine Renegades. Hated seeing him go to Pittsburgh. Carolina was bad enough. Eller is a perfect 3C so that part is tough for me. Heart vs head situation.

Capitals Pt 1
He tore his hamstring before 2019 playoffs and has not been the same player since. plus the Capitals have Fehervary waiting for a spot who has been much better. I would imagine they try to move Kempny for cap space to sign a RHD and have Orlov, Siegenthaler, Fehervary on the left and Carlson, Jensen and a FA RHD as their top 6. Or move one of those to the right and Re-sign Dillion.

Yeah a Mid 1st Rounder in a pretty deep draft and new coach. Just hope its someone good.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>I disagree. Sieg is extremely physical and neither got an opportunity to get ice bc of orpik. Djoo also had major surgery and missed time. And sieg played very well in Kempny absence in the playoffs. Djoo is kinda old ish and he’s a good puck moving dman and sieg is a great stay at home guy. They could be alzner Carlson 2.0. Caps lost bc we lost arguably our best defensive dman. That and Oshie got hurt. I’m confident if we need cap space those 2 could fill in without any issues</div></div>
Kempny and Oshie missing was definitely a major absence for sure. It will be interesting to see which move is made to get under the Cap limit.

I like Gudas ( even if its only one season) as a vet on the 3rd pair to help the younger guy he's paired with whether its 29 or 34. Agreed he's not part of the future but relying on Djoos and Siegs as a pair makes me nervous. Neither grabbed the last spot last year. Playoffs we didn't have enough bite. Gudas helps with that even if just for one year.

I like the idea. Campbell would be solid add but Hutchinson on a 700K 1 way is probably the Back up. Id definitely prefer your move though.

Reflect After Day One
100% agree. Solid adds and fill the 3RW with a guy who fits great. Also great adds to strengthen 4th line. Leipsec, Boyd, Hathaway can work well in any pair we need for the 4Ws depending on the matchups needed.
Agree also we need our other russians (not OVI) need a bounce back year for the success we want to be possible.
Missed Kempny last playoffs and Osh at the end of round.
I like how we look and our chances to make another run.

Solid no more moves needed
Pretty strong July 1st.
Also agree i am pumped for this team. Solid moves. This team is solid up and down. This is the exact team I would make. Boyd, Leipsec, Hathway filling the final 2 spots in the lineup and can insert any pair in and out to the match ups we need.
Also agree Stephenson played his way out of the lineup.

Post Burakovsky
Caps director of development described AJF , Alexeyev, and Feherevary as "close" to NHL Time. Think he gets a look. They may go Stephenson for experience but 4LW could see some guys get a look like AJF and Gersich. Gersich also described as best player in camp so could get some looks too. Im in favor of looking at Gersich and AJF to see if they can elevate their game and Stephenson be a safety blanket if they need more experience but I think Gersich and AJF bring just as much as Stephenson.

Keep Burakovsky
DJoos took a small step back last season and is even if not slightly behind siegenthaler in my opinion right now but could also regain a spot if he plays well. I could see them both earn time on the 3rd pair and both benefit from Gudas.
Agreed on Jaskin. Id honestly non qualify him and let him walk to be honest without losing much sleep.
I could see Walker back since hes had a chance before. Barber is leaving since he never really had a look. I think he should have more of an opportunity over his career but never came. If Walks is given a spot on the 4th line and he could challenge Stephenson for that spot i could see him return but can also see him pursue other opportunities for more time and money if its there.

Keep Burakovsky
I am going to make what i think could be a good one w/o Burakovsky. Also make one of a sorta "wish list" of what id want to happen.
If it goes by qualifying offers stephenson is 715,00 vs Jaskins 1.1m. I would go stephenson just based on CAP coming in lower than previously expected.
I know Vrana is 2nd liner. I just forgot to move him up to his spot in line up once i signed him.
I also agree with Djoos. I think Siegenthaler has progressed past him. Siegs next to Gudas would be good for him . I thinkThere has been talk (RUMORS) of moving LucasJo but id rather move a 24 YO Djoos and continue progression on a 21YO LucasJo.

A List of My Predictions
Vrana deal is exactly what I thought and think would be best. I think CLB will panic a bit losing Duchene and Panarin but Dzingel seems a bit high imo. I can’t see them give a guy who had 1 PT in 9 playoff games and was a healthy scratch a couple games in playoffs 8x8. See him closer to 8x6-7 if they panic but overall I agree on most. Great work

Reduced Cap
Burakovsky will be a gamble to keep at that price. If he is qualified his salary would be 3.25. If they want him less than that caps wont offer a qualifying offer but that allows him to become a UFA. He could find more than 2.5 somewhere. Is his loyalty to WSH strong enough for him to stay at reduced salary. I would like him at 2.5 not so sure at 3.25, especially with CAP lower than previously anticipated.

Working on cap now that we got karlsson
They don’t have a lot of excess money. I don’t see them spending 3 million for a backup goalie. Keep Dell at 1.9 and give the extra 1.1 to Meier since he is most likely gonna be more than 4.4. 5.5 seems more likely

Not bad. I would think they would have Alexeyev in Hershey to develop. but replace him with a Gersich or re-Sign a Walker. 22 skater with 1 sub Forward and 1 sub D as well.
