Solving Tampas cap space thingy

A player with a no-trade clause (NTC) or no-movement clause (NMC - cannot be placed on waivers or sent to minors) must accept a move by waiving his clause in order to be traded. This list has been compiled from various sources, including NHL documents, internal sources and other media outlets.
-NHL
NMC do apply to ice time which determines lines if the player wants to work it in.
The Stars can not play Benn or Seguin in the bottom 6 per ice time per their clause.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sebybbq</b></div><div>I don’t think it will be a real problem. If Brisebois ask either of them to waive their Trade clause he will ask them for which team they would accept a trade and probably waive their clause. Because if they refused they could end up in syracuse or healthy scratch. Either way next year they have a to submit a list of team where they would accept a trade. NTC are sure a thing but it doesn’t have the same impact as a NMC that give the players all the power. Suppose that brisebois ask johnson to waive is clause and then he refused. Brisebois turn himself around and send him to syracuse, johnson have no power over it and downgraded to ahl. Players will accept to play elsewhere before making bus ride and play in ahl</div></div>
They both have full no trade clauses til 21/22.
A NMC without trade stipulations worked in means the player cant be moved from top6 to bottom6 without player consent
Having a NTC or a NMC means they can not be sent down unless to terminate the contract in which teams would have to pay more for breaching their contract.

Connolly is someone you want. In this game the dude is a cheap top6 player under most coaches. Gurianov will get up to about 86-89 if you give him alot of opportunity.
I dont play regular season games when simming, only, game 7s in the playoffs.

Dickenson,LW, 84-88
Seguin hurts Benn, idk why but, he does.
In about all the sims I've done Benn doesnt do much better than say 30/50 with Seguin and he drops down to a 83-85 by the time he hits 34. Without Seguin? He doesnt touch 83-85 til his contract expires and does 40/50+ til then.
Trading Benn normally screws the sqaud up for awhile in my experience.

It's not unrealistic.

Nothing you used as a argument for why they wouldnt outweighed my why they would.
The EK situation is yalls biggest situation to correct if SJ intends on being competitive any time in the near future and you brought up what all yall need and he hurts that alot more than picking up Radulov who would help those 27th and 23rd for production numbers.

There is literally nothing anyone has posted about the cap not increasing. The only article about cap was of 2 weeks ago where the league said it will jump from 81 to a minimum of 84. The league has already touched and surpassed last year; these 28 games(12+16) will not impact that.
So, unless you have an official article that says it wont ,take your own advice and shut up.

No cap space left and we aren’t close to a full roster. I personally think we should trade Labanc, but for picks or prospects, not old players with bad contracts. Also, middle 6 and top 9 are real terms, I don’t even play NHL 20.</div></div>
It would take some movement for SJ to get competitive again. Jones wasnt it and Dell isnt looking much better, 1st line and half of the D core is about the good thing left on that squad.
SJ should had never picked up EK.
Waste of, what was it, 11 mil just for one run.
By the time SJ comes out this looming rebuild EK wont be worth any where close to that and say it takes 5 seasons, he'll still be there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboJoe</b></div><div>First of all, Labanc is not a bottom 6 player. I would consider him to be middle 6, at worst top 9. If for whatever reason San Jose did this, Radulov would be on our 2nd line, maybe even 3rd. If we re-sign Labanc, he will also be on our 2nd or 3rd line. We also don’t have cap space for him.</div></div>
A forward group is comprised of 12 skaters, the top 6 being the most productive on, usually, 17 mins of average ice time at minimum. The bottom 6, which is what you call players who dont quite make the top 6, get less than 17 mins on average. This isnt EAs NHL bud; you're either top 6 or bottom 6. By the numbers Lebanc is a bottom 6 guy and has been since he came into the league. Nothing about the kid says top 6.
Yall will have 17ish mil with no one major needing big money that I recall.

Totals were the same but,Rads trumps him in Metric numbers in just about every category and like you said hes considerably younger than him and he also played 10 more games on an avg of 16 mins in ice time. If anything this is over paying.
Hes the 5th best forward with 14gs
19a. The kids a depth player and that abouts all hes going to be; Rads is a top 6 player and other than his illness still looked like he had another 3-5 years left but, with us having Guri who, short of the celly, provides the same thing Rads does it just doesnt make sense to keep him anymore and I think a good depth player is about all hes worth considering his age and rest of term. No ones going to swap a top 6 for him but, a solid depth guy? Sure.
I know they're your team but, I highly doubt SJ passes on Rads just to keep a bottom 6 player.

Radulov actually has equal to or better numbers in 10 less games.
SJ is one of the worst offenses in the league; 27th in GF and 23rd in PP.
Regardless of his contract/ age and with a looming rebuild I think SJ would take the trade.
It may take an extra 4th or later pick but, that's about it.

Major moves with VAN and FLA
I know the rumor is Benn would only waive for Van but, I dont think Van would be willing to give up what the Stars would potentially want in a trade that didnt heavily swing Van's way but, more so because Benn isnt a need at all with what all they got. Their top 6 looks good if you place them by TOI and they're projected to have 20 mil with Virtanen,Gaudette,Motte, Tanev, Stetcher and Markstrom to resign; they could potentially want to keep Toffoli too and Pettersson is a due a contract after next season. Dallas would probably have to give up a better package that included retaining salary and that's if Van wanted Benn, I mean, Brock turned 22 in Feb and Benn will be 31 this July, I just can't see Van wanting to move a kid that is apart of their future for some one who could realistically retire after his contract expires in 5 seasons.

You're right, 12 mins avg; over looked that. I'd probably have to swap him for Shattenkirk then.
The Bs may take that trade. Not saying they would but my perspective on it it they still have 3-4 kids that could fill in on the LW and Cogs might produce a bit more there as opposed to Dallas. Boston has their defense to offense transition down. Oleksiak is 6'7 and is looking like he could be a top 4 dman, Boston could help him get alot better and with Chara retiring soon and them probably not wanting to give Krug that 8 mil he said he wants I feel theres value here. Tufte would be of interest to them because hes suppose to be a really big and capable defensive player at 6'6. Not saying he would have tons of value but, I think he would sweeten the deal a bit.

Need better depth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Heiskanen4Vezina</b></div><div>That's why I said...and I quote..."you can argue all you want that Braun is a 3rd pair defenseman,"
Even as a 3rd pair pair defenseman, he's miles ahead of where Polak & Sekera both are at this stage in their careers.</div></div>
Comparing Polaks 41 games to Brauns 62 is dumb. Sekera played 57 so, let's stick with those two for this season then we'll compare Polak and Braun from last season.
Sekera:
3.2 point shares, total goals against 38, 3.8 defensive point shares, 1.1 goals against while on ice, 6 goals against short handed
Braun:
2.9 point shares, total goals against 58, 2.0 defensive point shares, 2.9 goals against while on ice, 6.5 goals against short handed
Braun has better offensive numbers than Sekera but, not by much. Sekera is a better depth dman than Braun. Now, let's compare Braun to Polak from 18/19.
Polak played 77 games,Braun 78.
Polak: 1.9 goals against while on ice, 6.8 Goals against whole short handed, total goals against 62, defensive point shares 4.6, 3.8 point shares
Braun: 2.7 goals against while on ice, 9.1 goals against short handed, total goals against 89, defensive point shares 1.8, 1.6 point shares
Polak is also a better depth dman than Braun.
Kudos on down grading, lol.

Going back to the trade, I did more research I to the players being traded. Columbus really doesn’t want to move their leading goal scorer who’s played in less games then the guy in 2nd. And we really have no need for more wings or defenseman. If Radulov were to waive, which I doubt he would, no one wants to go to Columbus, he’s just another wing. Harly is a solid LHD prospect... he’d max out in Columbus as a bottom 4 defender, no way he’s better then Werenski on the left side. Tufte is meh and the 4th is meh. It’s an overpay from Dallas that fits 0 needs in Columbus for one of our untouchable players.
Also if I had to guess the 15 teams Radulov would waive for are NYR, NYI, Boston, LA, Anaheim, Florida, Tampa, Washington, Carolina, Detroit(Rich Russian heritage), Toronto, San Jose, Nashville, Philly, Pittsburgh. Maybe Columbus as the 15th over a Toronto but Toronto is a better team. Most cities are warmer and more likely to win vs Columbus, outside of Detroit where they have a high Russian heritage from the Russian 5.</div></div>
Doubt Rads wants to go to a team that isnt at least a potential playoff contender. Also, in the team description I said I started from worst in the league and counted up. Hardly any player with a NMC waives to go to a lotto team.
Seems CBJ is in the midst of rebuilding their blue line with Savard being the oldest at 29. I think they'd take Harley for sure but, being a 3rd dman at best is bit of a stretch imo til you atleast see if hes better than any of the others. Werenski is bomb, no doubt.
If that was the case then why did Rads come here? Texas isnt russian heavy. Oh, that's because they follow the money, that's right.

I like how yall lie too, lol.
"To be honest, no" said Bobrovsky when asked if there was a possibility of him staying in Columbus. "I felt that I needed a change. This is not only because of the friction with the club or the team, my heart just said that it was time to open new horizons."
-Bobs talking to a russian news outlet on why he wasnt staying.
Panarin didnt choose CBJ, Chicago did.
This summer, I said I'll take some time to think about the future, and, really, nothing's changed," he said. "I want to say I've really enjoyed every day here. It's been great here. These thoughts are really nothing that has to do with the organization specifically. I was welcomed here with open arms by pretty much everyone in the organization and fans. The fans love me, and I love the fans. I want people to understand that it's not often that a player has the opportunity to decide the future so I'm going to take the time to decide. A long-term contract is essentially a huge part of your life, so it's really important that we take the time to really decide what the right decision is.
