Yeah you're probably right if he doesn't pick it up. I think he'll get up to 35 points by year end. He's playing better now we'll see. Still wouldn't justify his contract. Would probably be willing to add a B prospect if needed.

I'm not giving up on Podz yet, esp for such a low pick. I'd sign him to a two year one way contract hoping to get a couple great value years out of him in the bottom six. Also think Petey is getting 11.5 on a four year contract because (i) one year is RFA, (ii) two players making 8 or less on his team are outscoring him.

The "prospects" wouldn't get picked up off waivers, Klingberg is significant negative value. It's basically a late first for two highly desirable expiring D-men WITH RETENTION. Soo it's basically giving the flames two best trade assets away for free.

Retaining 2.5 would cost two firsts. Worst contract in the league and it's not even close. Need to rehabilitate.

I think Canucks do this deal. Prefer a RHD but with Wallinder and Brz coming up in 1-3 years would be great to get a LHD vet to pair with them long term.

Interesting. Canucks definitely couldn't make that deal. That's more than it took to land JT Miller in his prime on a bargain deal.
