so the criteria for this list you have to be retired, the best actual hockey player for thus franchise is not on it

How many more stars can you fit on the team? You certainly cant fit any in under the cap.

Acquisition cost will be through the roof though lol.

Huberdeau would be 10m though lol and there's no guarantee they get him anyways, better off keeping Nylander, and adding Kane or Toews at the deadline. Next off-season they either resign both Matthews and Nylander, one of them, or realize that they will lose both, Nylander would be tradeable even with his M-NTC, but Matthews wouldn't and they wouldn't want to anyways.

Doesn't make sense for us, we need RHD not LHD and Muzzin isn't worth his contract so we might as well go after someone better.

The Hawks would HAVE to say yes to this for so many reasons, BUT Toews has never played wing. He's not playing it for TOR either. They'd have him as the #3C and Kampf the #4C. It would be pretty sick to have your faceoff guys at 57%, 60%, 59%, 53%.

If they win the Cup, then perhaps it would be worth it. If they lose, even in the Finals then it would be a fail. Win or lose though they will be set back years the following season with a weaker team and a weaker prospect pool.

yuppp
Definite trend where fans of lower half teams greatly over overvalue their players. Coyotes have been … poor … these past (many) years. He’s big and tough (I guess) but he’s supposed to be a power forward but has only averaged about a point every three games and has scored 20 goals once, so where is the value . Sandin has not lit up either but he’s younger and his ppg is very close (as a dman). So let’s lay-off the Crouse is too good to be traded for Sandin nonsense

Vegas is at the cap ceiling with 21 players right now. This puts them over the cap and it’s an overpay for something they don’t need. Easy no.

I'm not sure they will. They're very limited in waiver exempt contracts at the moment. Sandin, Robertson and Lil are the notables. I think OP has made a solid argument for moving mikey and Engvall out.
Only time will tell I suppose.

Yeah Dubas said during the press conference after they were done with free agency that working on an extension the focus and if they can't figure something out, then trading Rielly before the season starts is how they would approach things.

One last big move
Nylander and Ritchie (both Brian Burke and Don Cherry wanted him to pick instead of Nylander in the same draft) finally on the same team - maybe even on the same line. TOR will not trade Willy. Dubas added grit so he will not sell the skill and he is right IMO. Furthermore #88 was one of the few players showing up in the playoffs. That would be hilarious to trade him of all things - on top of that he has the cheapest and best contract of the core four.

That's a fair point. They may not want a player in their peak right now. I'm sure could get a 3rd team involved to get 1st Rd picks and top prospects.

Injury is definitely the issue. I still think if a good doctor rec, Toronto jumps at it. Buffalo has no choice. Have to move him. Nobody offers a better return than marner.

Dont forget Boston just capped themselves out with 3rd pair dmen and no 2nd line center.
On the flip side though Florida looks to have massively improved
