Probably Samburg or Heinola if they dont trade or sign one in free agency. Copp is very good and under team control.

Lainino

I would rather put that 9M somewhere else and take the chance Caufield becomes our own Laine. He is also at risk to be a one trick pony but he will be cost controlled for at least 5 years.
MTL need to add to an already average roster, giving away Domi, Lehkonen, Fleury, probably another lottery pick and Caufield for one player is not helping them at all IMO. If we would trade this package for a star player, I would defenitly target someone else.</div></div>
You clearly haven’t watched Laine this year

I love this take. People love to **** on the city but it seems like players that play here like to sign long term? I don't see why couture who's from Ontario wouldn't want to play here.

Couture
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyFan989</b></div><div>Don't really see it... seems to much to give up for a player a few years away from declining, giving the young core that wpg has maybe keeping bout 12 overall pick is the better choice. Would still be potential top 6 c available and Chevy is good at drafting think the jets window really starts to open in bout 4-5 years when the core is in their prime only wheeler would be gone and hopefully vesa ready by then like the trade but looking long term... ouch</div></div>
I don't think Roslovic will be the 2C we need for the cup. We want to win now while we have this core and before wheeler ages out. sure the draft pick might be a good 2C but why not just get an established one? I don't think vesalainen will be great in Winnipeg, there's no room for him in the top 9. Chevy is good at drafting but look at it this way
top 6 locked up: Scheif, Ehlers, Laine, Wheeler, Couture, Connor. Theres no room for anyone else.
This would be the last first we use towards getting a 2C.
No more renting 2Cs at the draft for firsts anymore. We would have the one we need.

Poolman and miller could both play in the top 4. We have also payed myers and Kulikov to play on the bottom paid so miller who is actually good at 3.5 is fine

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>I approve of all these trades. Miller is an interesting choice. He’s cheap and could be good for us. Since both these trades get made now, you basically look at petry as having 1 year left and Miller 2. Good stop gaps for Heinola, Samberg and Chisholm.
I like it.</div></div>
Exactly. The contracts of both work out perfectly with our prospects. This give Heinola and samburg a chance to log big minutes in the ahl and dominate. They both will be there for injuries as well.

Stanley is far down on the jets D depth charts now. Vesalainen has good middle 6 potential now but Petry is a big boost to the jets for the next 2 seasons while heinola, samburg and chisholm develop.

TDL Banger with san jose
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>I think it’s good with samberg + 1 small add or vesa swapped in.
As for couture he’s been great in the playoffs for his entire career and his production hasn’t been dog****. He’s maybe not with 8 but I’d rather him then Kevin Hayes. Good deal tho in the end it’s not like it’s a mile off</div></div>
Couture solves the 2C issues and we can finally stop giving firsts for rentals at the deadline. Laine-Couture-Ehlers would be amazing to watch.
If San Jose values vesalaiben>Samburg I’m all for it.

I don’t think that couture is a good option for the jets as he’s already 30 and has 8 years left at 8m. I don’t think it’s a bad package, just would have to add another B prospect imo.</div></div>
Maybe it’s because I’m also a sharks fan but couture gives us 6 years of a great 2C. His production might suck in the last 2 years but the cap should rise enough where it won’t matter as much.

They really should trade Lowry, dumb old hockey men would want him even though he's useless.
This won't be a popular take but it might be time to consider trading Wheeler as well.</div></div>
Lowry is fine to me but once his contract is up he’s easily replaced by gustafsson. I’m open to the idea of moving wheeler but true north is too loyal and I’m not even sure what we would get for him

Seriously it might be time to see if Wheeler wants to go chase a cup somewhere else cause this team isn't winning one this season and who really knows what the future is gonna bring. Too many holes on this team to realistically think it can return to contender status next season.</div></div>
What do you think we could get for wheeler?
