Completely new mix of kids, with our leaders & Igor showed their promise by excelling 2 years ahead of schedule. Drury bought at tdl to reward the group. We need heavy depth, two Fs & one D. Cap is an issue, same with NMCs. Drury will address eventually. A healthy up to speed Blais would help. Kravtsovs balls finally dropping would help bring his trade value up</div></div>
haha loose definition. Either way, the Rangers success from last season should not be expected to continue. Like you said, there are plenty of holes up front and Igor had a career year (prob not to be repeated).
The cap is going to be a serious issue. Nils was the first casualty (the right move), but other necessary moves will need to be made.

That 4th line is terrible, and that would be a nice 3rd if that's what they were actually rolling out, but it's not.

It's actually the opposite - they are supremely overrated. Outside of Fox and Mika, this team is pretty mediocre on the ice. Last year was a farce.
They'd never do it but what they should do is trade Panarin and actually put that $11M toward strengthening the forward group. The bottom 6 is really bad.

If you would like to go back a reread the thread I do however mention that with the exception of a Top G in Shesty since comparing apples and oranges isn’t ideal. However when I compare apples to apples (panarin to barkov) is not close. Also a number of people will argue that G shouldn’t count as players or qualify for MVP awards( not that I agree but was trying to avoid having an argument with an idiot) however that didn’t work out so well since here we are…. 🤡</div></div>

Meaning, he did it will very little help. He has more talent and it’s not debatable. Skill and over all value are 2 different things. The argument has always been about skill.. we could make the argument that Laf on his ELC and producing a fraction of the points is more valuable then bread or McJesus for that matter🤣 but he isn’t more skilled</div></div>
Can't even read your own post, huh? You said Panarin is the best player on the roster.
That is simply incorrect.

Barkov to Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYR1983</b></div><div>Shesty is obviously a top 2 G and maybe the best. No question and no need to dispute him. Also completely different skill set. As for skaters, Fox and Zibby are definitely valued and maybe more valuable based on position/age/contract. But skill, NO. Zibby is absolutely one of the league’s best goal scorers and his PK and playing C are certainly very valuable. Fox, there’s few D that are at his level or better when it comes to skill, his age and position are more valuable but he isn’t more skilled. We just finished a few seasons of hearing about how Bread made Strome a 70pt guy hahaha and considering Strome was always his best line mate that’s sad. Fast and Blackwell were the guys filling the 3rd spot for the most part not to mention guys like hunt and Gauthier.. so basically Bread carried the 2nd line. If you read through some of my thread with the other guy here you can see some legit that’s and info proving these points. Now, what I can appreciate is the lack of knowledge, I much like yourself had no idea his skill level before I watched him play 82 games a season. The thing is he often doesn’t look like he is trying all the time, much like kovalev back in the day, but his numbers speak for themselves. Post CHI he never played much with anyone at the elite level of a Kane… PLD? No Strome? No… while you think I might be watching the wrong sport lmao you’re wrong. 🤣 oh and feel free to name #4 who is ahead of him if your feeling like being a 🤡 today</div></div>
You can try to rationalize it all you want, he's not a better OVERALL player than any of the 4 names I mentioned. Telling me who he has played with is completely irrelevant.
Also, his playoff performance is LOL funny...dude is soft as baby sh*t.
You're just a homer....it's okay, we all homer a bit for our own team. But you're objectively incorrect.

He's barely in the top 5. Fox, Shesterkin, Ziba are all better players than Panarin, and are also more important to the teams success.
If you think Panarin is better than Barkov, you're watching the wrong sport.

Vrana produces scoring, but is not solid enough defensively imo. Plus just look at his face.. I think a trade of Vrana for Andersson is a good trade for both sides. Even if it'll mean slightly less goals for Detroit it'll mean a bigger drop in goals against. And Calgary needs a goal scoring winger to make a run at the cup. There's solid enough defence remaining.</div></div>
First you come up with "Vrana and Elmo are interchangeable", and now this nonsense....

I think it might be worth putting that skill level with Zadina in a 3rd line with either Suter or Rasmusses (Rasmussen imo). I guess Vrana and Elmo are largely interchangeable, but I think playstyle and speed will be relevant to what players are best suited to play with each other. Vrana/Rasmussen/Zadina just feels right and I think Elmo will work well with Perron/Copp. Just not a huge fan of burying Big E in a 4th line. But either way, however you swing it, I'm excited to see what the guys can do.</div></div>

Not to mention hanging on to rebuild assets like bert .
Yzerman looks like he's trying to get the team competitive as soon as possible and he's not doing a good job of it. This team will still stink and now it's got some big probable anchor contracts for no reason</div></div>

Cherry picking lol - those are 5 stats that Robertson destroys panarin - goals for per 60 (increasing the rate his team scores), expected goals per 60 (driving offense), CF/60 (driving possession).
What stats is Panarin better in? Robertson had more even strength points than Panarin, the only stat Panarin is much better in is getting secondary assists on the powerplay</div></div>
You lost all credibility when you said he's better than Kuch.

The responses made it clear that I'd be arguing with someone(s) who clearly don't understand how value works in the NHL. Not worth my time.

Also, "team Xs prospect pool is stacked" isn't ever accurate. Most of those kids will never be regular NHLers, regardless of how "stacked" NHL Network says it is.
