Like I said earlier to the other guy, if Severson's rights get traded lets revisit this. I don't think it'll be as low as a 6th or 7th. I think a 4th should get it done.

It could be another team and it could maybe even be a 3rd round pick. I just picked Vancouver because they're not in the same conference and they need defense.

Tatar will get more than 2mil. He was pretty good for us this year. I would think at least 3mil.

We need the D to catch up, and we're generally weak on the right side, but we're excited for the future.</div></div>
Just remember all of them won’t hit their stride next year. Took us until year 4 of Jack for NJ to show the promise that Hughes and Hischier had. But once it hits, it’s exciting AF!

Without retention, I think that we would ask for your 2023 second, as low as it is. With retention, we would ask for your 2024 first and we would send our 2023 third back.</div></div>

Don’t want Nylander. I know he’s better than Bratt but Nylander does take games off and when he does, it’s very noticeable. He was great in the playoffs for Toronto, ( one of the only guys that showed up ) but don’t want him. Bratt’s not as gifted offensively but he doesn’t take games off.

NJD can’t officially trade the 2024 1st round pick because it’s conditional on the Timo Meier trade.

No offense, I hope the Sharks are done trading with you guys for a bit. We gave up a top line winger for a 3/4 dman. Some of the other stuff is just longshots.</div></div>
Mike Grier did say he liked the quantity over the quality.

I'd love Zetterlund back. Perfect 2nd/3rd line winger for us.

Anyone think NJ could re-sign Severson on a discount? He should get the bag, he deserves it, but NJ is a team on the rise and he could possibly win there. Thoughts?

I don’t think Pittsburgh can afford to let him go.

You also didn't sign Sharangovich? I think and hope he's still part of the team. Great middle 6 winger especially since we drafted him in the 5th round.

Looks like Blackey is Out
I guess the good thing is Schmid has taken a step. Last year watching Schmid play I thought he was just an AHL goalie. But this year he took a step and is a legit NHL backup right now that could become a starter. Yes I know the team has gotten better defensively as well, but watching Schmid play this year, in every game he played I thought, " yeah, this guy can get us 2 points tonight. " Unfortunately for Blackwood, I don't think or see a reason why we should qualify him. Just let him walk and use that money somewhere else.

Out Of Our UFAs Who Needs To Be Resigned
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>UFA priorities -
1. One of Graves / Severson (maybe both if they are willing forego NTC/NMC).
2. Tatar (at current rate or less).
3. Haula
4. Wood (if he takes a “prove it deal”</div></div>
The reason I put Haula a little higher than other players is because he's been great as our 3rd center and even our 2nd center when we would have Hughes play some left wing. If we don't resign Haula, are we putting Mercer as our 3C? Is Boqvist our 3C?

Out Of Our UFAs Who Needs To Be Resigned

Hughes should be up and Nemec probably down. The reverse is a strange choice</div></div>
I chose Nemec over Hughes only because Nemec has a better all around game, and has been playing against men for a couple of years now. I like Luke but I could see him having some problems right away defending in the NHL. But if both Hughes and Nemec are ready for full time duty next season, I'm ok with that.

That's true. I remember Shesterkin looking awful the first 3 games against Pittsburgh last year. Then he settled in and got them to the conference finals.
