Whats The Latest On Patrick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Just a note. Apparently in the 2017 draft the Flyers had the # 2 pick.. The Flyers scouts argued that Cale Makar was the guy to pick. But GM Hextall (and his ego) had the final say. Wanted a WHL guy (which he ws 30 years previously). Nolan Patrick was the Flyers selection.</div></div>
Just imagine how embarrassing that would have been if that Makar guy ever panned out.

I like Tatar, but the Devils do not have any room for him unfortunately

Devils tell you to never call again. IF you wanted Mercer so bad shouldve drafted him, he isnt for sale.

A Couple Spots Open
Like some of the comments mention, the 2 forward openings likely go to Holtz, Foote or possibly Clarke.
As far D, I do think there's a possibility Nemec wins the 3rd pair RD job coming out of camp. But I think the most likely scenario is that Miller takes that spot right now, and Nemec comes up later in the season.

RW3 is Holtz’s spot.
LW4/C4 will be rotated imo. If McLeod gets a suspension from the Team Canada case, I can see that line being Foote-Nosek-Bastian for that period of time.

A Couple Spots Open
There are no spots open stop the panic. The 4LW will be rotation of Nosek and Foote. Why do you not wanna give Holtz a chance. Last year he wasnt given a fair chance cuz of the way the team was playing so
just stop panicking. Nemec will be in teh AHL why would you have two rookies on Defense on a cup contending team...

Those spots are filled by Foote and Holtz 99.9% of the time. There are no open spots.
7th D is Smith unless Nemec is actually too good for the AHL, in which case it's Miller

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DevilsFanZack13</b></div><div>Really Buch over Aho? I don't know man. Aho does everything.</div></div>
As a canes fan, Buch and Aho are like the same player just Buch has a higher scoring pace and can play all 3 forward positions. They are both really good penalty killers who can play at 1C and score at over a point per game pace. Buch is just a tiny bit better I think.

Another Depth Signing Like Cal Foote
Maybe? I'm not sure Utica needs too many more forwards but it's not like we're anywhere near the contract limit so why not

I’m old so humour me, are these video game ratings? Because I don’t want to live in a world where someone thinks Josi should be rated higher than Crosby.

Yeah, too many Gs for sho. Q Hughes is definitely too high. Same for EK. McAvoy is better than half the Ds you have listed. I think Scheif doesn't belong here.

3C Mercer
I think Mercer is 3C only in the sense that he steps up if something happens to Jack or Nico…but he has proven valuable as top-6 winger.

Would be amazing if he pulled it off, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Mercer sticking as a 3C unless the Devils were forced to make him a C due to injuries and he crushes it.

When it comes to the Jets Barlow is probably a good bet. McGroarty will be interesting aswell though, and personally I really like Brad Lamberts chances.
It'll also be interesting to see how Elias Salomonsson develops.

Jiri Kulich over Zach Benson. The lethal shot, the offensive IQ, the incredible adjustment to NA-pro hockey. He did it all as an 18 year old last season, that's incredible. Benson is crazy good as a prospect too, but he hasn't accomplished anything at the pro level.

Not overly familiar with Canes prospects, but I wouldn't argue that claim. He's definitely up there
