nah. his drafting has been very good. i also liked the samsonov and jarnkrok deals. bunting and kampf were nice pickups. the gio and lilegren contracts are a steal.
not a fan of most of his trades and contracts tho.

2022-23 NHL Pre-Season Discussion Thread #1: The Boys Are Back
toronto is up against the cap with a 20 man roster and still have sandin left to sign/trade.
hypothetically if the leafs can't find a trade and decide to waive a player to make cap room should they waive kerfoot, holl, or another player.
kerfoot is a better player than holl but he's also more expensive so waiving him creates more space. leafs aren't as deep on d so holl is harder to replace especially if sandin holds out or gets traded.
i think id rather waive engvall but i dont see that happening since he was just extended. i have a hard time choosing between kerfoot and holl.

i dont know about the rest of the world but in canada gun crime is largely driven by illegal guns. i dont know the exact numbers but i do know a toronto police chief estimated that 85% of gun crime involve illegal guns.
you are right about suicides. the overwhelming majority of gun deaths in canada are suicides (80.%) and more should be done about that but removing guns doesn't make someone less suicidal.

If cap increases by 2M next season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Babatunde</b></div><div>Hyman already took his hometown discount, Campbell asking for $5M for 5 year and for someone that isn't from Toronto, I'm glad he signed with Edmonton behind that defense. Mikheyev requested a trade before and no one cared if he stayed or not. If Bunting wants $5M or $5.5M, Leafs will be more than happy to pay it. However, he is the few that plays for the crest and not for the name at the back of his jersey
Nick Paul also never made a lot of money in his career but signed an extremely team friendly deal for 8 years at $3.1M</div></div>
7 years. nick paul isn't as good as bunting, his career high is 20 points bunting scored 63 last year. that's only worth another 850k?

ive heard the same about hyman. campbell too. mikeyev wasn't going to leave because of a soup endorsement.
no player is leaving that money on the table especially one who never had a big payday.

his contract doesn't have the value his peers contracts have. it's hurting the leafs. the leafs could easily be under the cap right now with a full roster if dubas negotiated better.

50/50? its 1/3 for 2/3 against and that's with the large leafs bias factored in.

every single player in the top 10 in that list earns less than matthews except mcdavid and that's with mcdavid signing up for 8 years not matthews 5 years.
you can try and spin it any way you want but it was a bad contract and people knew it at the time.
