Konency and Bertuzzi
Look, I know it seems like a good idea to throw 18 pieces at a player and call it a good trade but what we would want is quality, not quantity and IMO, there is no quality here.

Not even close to enough for Hart. There is going to be a bidding war and even then we may not move him. You are going to have to cough up at least 1 significant piece. Cough Nikishin cough

And then you still have Hayes/DeAngelo on the club with 10mil in cap space, I'd definitely do something with both of those</div></div>
We have to realize that Hayes may not be going anywhere now. If both Bergeron and Krecji retire then MAYBE BOS would have some interest but I can't see many teams on his NTC list

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluspy88</b></div><div>I think the Flyers trade isn't necessarily bad in terms of return. I just don't know if they really want to trade Laughton. I think the 1st is interesting, Robertson is meh and Timmins is intriguing if they can get rid of DeAngelo. Don't know much about Murray.
That's great but I doubt that they can just "move" Brodie with his modified NTC and likely asking price to take him. Brodie is also probably overhated.</div></div>
Flyers don't likely want to move Laughton but if a team is willing to cough up something good for him, they have to listen

Likely something to do with the Hayes rumours. Maybe making it a bigger deal with another Flyers player and getting a 3rd team to retain on said Flyers 2nd player.

I just don't see it. They have a max value and their contracts aren't bad enough to increase that value by retaining.

I would actually prefer this deal than getting a 2nd or 3rd with like $2M retained on Hayes</div></div>
That's an idea but I don't see us getting more than above for either whether there is retention or not. It's risk vs reward and the risk of additional assets does not meet the reward for other teams imo. Retaining on them would just be doing the other team a favour

Helping the Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Agree, I think they lack an internal answer at RD and some of that cap space could address it. Attard should get that 3 RD this year, but Ristolinen is a solid 2 RD, which leaves UFA to be DeAngelo as the 1 RD. I'd look to move him, and theres lots of good RD options in UFA this year (Severson, Dumba, Klingberg, etc...). Between Provorov, Sanheim, York, Seeler, Zamula, and Andrae LD is looking good, and maybe a move is there.
Defense is more about pairings, and Provorov (since Niskanen left) could have a rebound with a solid partner (Severson or Dumba), and Sanheim had his best year with Risto, but York is too good for 3rd pairing, or go Provorov-York, Sanheim-Risto, Solid Vet/Seeler-Attard, Zamula/Seeler as 7th is a young defense that could be good, and Provorov with 1 yr left (and with retention maybe) gets a good package at 24-25 TDL if he doesnt fully rebound. But ultimately, Sanheim is getting the big payday and has never/is not a first pairing guy.</div></div>
None of those D men you mentioned are top pairing D men, imo, and don't fit the timeline

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Agreed. It's funny how majority of these players were drafted by the two worst GM's (historically) in Flyers history. If they pan out, sort of like an Ed Wade situation with Howard, Hamels, Utley, etc. Remains to be seen if these guys get to that level, but the above lines look pretty solid to me.
And then, with all that cap space, you can start supplementing your roster with an elite talent in free agency and some other glue guys. I even think this could be the lineup in year 2 also, depending on the performance this year of course.</div></div>
I even forgot to put Benson in that lineup..oops!
So then it Could be Frost/Benson/Robertson at LW and we can move Farabee if he doesn't take a step soon.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>I would love for them to sit on that space and be a player for someone in the 24 off season - IF, they take another step forward next year AND their 1st round pick from '23 is a lock to be on the NHL squad. I see Foerster and Attard as guys who can certainly take the leap to be every day NHLers, and good ones at that. If Tippett, York, Frost, Cates can all reach another level and Coots comes back and is the player he used to be, or even 90%, I think people can see that this rebuild could only be a season.
Very optimistic but still, one can dream.</div></div>
100% agree.
Then we draft say a Benson in this draft and maybe top RD next year and your year 3 (if this offseason is year 1) looks like this...
Farabee/Coots/Tippett
Frost/Gauthier/Foerster
Robertson/Cates/Zadina or Brink
York/2024 RD Draftee
Sanheim/Timmins
Andrae/Attard
We aren't far off.

That PHI defense is pretty meh and I doubt PHI sits on 16mil in cap space</div></div>
I'm not looking for Timmins to be a stud. If he can be a solid 2nd pair D man that's fine with me. Who knows, maybe he and Sanheim gel. Our D is going to be a mess as long as Ristolainen and Sanheim suck.
As for Robertson, we need some LW depth because we have NONE! The kid is 21 and has potential.

And that value is probably a ‘24 2nd. If you want Roslovic as a throw-in, he’s yours, but he’s not any necessary part of a Hayes trade. <a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4253592">He can be traded somewhere else.</a></div></div>
I'd take whatever 2nd as I don't think anything substantial happens with CBJ next year. Still gonna be bad.
