Is this a fair deal

You’re right that he plays RD, that does not make him a RHD however.
Ghost would be fine in the line up but only for the right price. Bruins have two offensive UDFA’s in Prov (Ahcan and Zech) where you have to think at least one will make the jump in a couple of years. In that case, I’d be looking at a LHD Dman that can replace the load Chara had taken in the past.

Well Lauzon isn’t a RHD and I would think Boston would rather save the near 4 mil difference by having Lauzon in the lineup

I agree. Would definitely give them a more complete lineup and better pace on the third line. Him and Coyle showed some pretty good chemistry in the small sample size they had together.
I would be fine if their only deadline move was to call him up.

Agreed. He passes the eye test when playing in the NHL and looks like he can contribute but the production and stat line does not tell the same story.
I believe he should be playing in the NHL if not for Boston based on the way he has performed in his brief stints. Would not put the bust tag on him just yet.

But for 2.8 mil I think it’s way too much. He has peaked and he is a little too outside of the play the majority of the time. When he engages and gets in the dirty areas he’s actually pretty good.</div></div>
The one thing I will say about Heinen, and it doesn't mean he is not worth what his salary suggests, is that I have only seen a couple games over the last 3 years where I have thought "Heinen is having a really good game".
Heinen is a great supporting player and is just that. For 2.8 million I don't believe it is too much for a 3rd line player who can play both PP and PK, as well as having great hockey sense away from the puck.
On the contrary, the Bruins have many players who can play that 2 way game and I think that is what makes Heinen expendable to them. I don't believe they are actively trying to trade Heinen and do think the Bruins are trying to get him back on the right track after being mostly inconsistent this season, but it would have to be the right deal for the Bruins to trade him.

For a team that lacks a solid prospect pool and is ranked 30th in such by the Athletic, the picks they make are going to be crucial over the next few years. Its not simply the value of the pick, its their situation that makes the picks valuable.
As Ive mentioned, Sweeney has essentially said he’s not going all in as he has in years past

Not bad. Hesitant on the Kase trade based on how high the Bruins are of Kuhlman and keeping their first.
However if they go all in I could see this happening, Backes would probably need a couple mil retained.
Lastly, as you said Moore will probably be an offseason trade but could happen if a bubble team like Chicago comes in. They’ve been scouting the B’s quite a bit the last two months

You're right, it would be the time to go for it but they've made such investments the last two deadlines. It will be a final hour trade if anything.
As for Thornton, where did you see there is no interest on either side?

Heinen/Wood, I would say maybe Wood and a 3rd/4th, can't see NJ giving out another 2nd after the Subban trade.

Fair enough, I just know that before McAvoy's return they were deciding between Moore and Gryzleck to scratch. Feel like they like having Miller in to balance the lineup of 3 defensive style defenceman and 3 transitional/offensive defenceman.
You're right though, based of skill set I would go with Moore over Miller, I just feel like they're trying to keep it balanced.

I wouldnt read too much into it. I think it more so has to do with it being a back-to-back and the Bruins finding Moore and Gryzleck close to interchangeable. Same reason Backes is going in for Acciari. Want to keep legs fresh

Heinen had an excellent rookie year but has since slumped hard. Senyshyn has not even played an NHL game yet. It may not be by a huge margin, but I think Boston wins this trade.</div></div>
A common misconception is that Krug is not defensively sound. If you watch Krug, he actually has pretty fair awareness in his own end and even though he does get caught every now and then, so do even the best D-men in the NHL. I think its the fact he's labeled as an offensive defenseman that makes people automatically think he can't play in his own end.
Would I say he's a great player in his own end? Probably not, but he's not a player who you're ever worried about holding their own in their end so I think it's a bit unfair to consider him a liability on defense.

Round 9 of Tarasenko Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>boothy424</b></div><div>agree. I doubt the Bruins would make this trade. Doesn't make sense on the Bruins end. Yes Tarasenko can replace Debrusk's scoring, but Carlo is gonna need to be the shutdown D when Chara retires. That would be a gaping hole if we have no Carlo or Chara. We have enough LD and small/mobile D. We need to keep Carlo. I'd rather have 20-25 goals with Debrusk's rookie contract right now than 30-35 goals with Tarasenko's $7.5 mil. Tarasenko is an incredible talent but we need to add him to our lineup to have a shot at the cup, not deplete our lineup.</div></div>
I agree with you. This post was simply to show what it would take to bring in Tarasenko and that the Bruins would have to part with key assets. I don't believe the Bruins would make this trade either but can't ignore the fact that the Bruins are still one or two key players away from making a feasible cup run.

Round 9 of Tarasenko Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>It seems to be the classic trade of signing for a known "star" commodity, for young NHLers and prospects. Just guessing how the Bruins do things, they would rather keep Debrusk and Carlo and let them develop in good NHLers. When they are at their best, they seem to solid guys who can be the second line and second pairing very well. Bruins biggest problem this year has been injuries and especially Bergerons.</div></div>
I agree that there is remotely no chance of the Bruins making this trade.
The real issue with the Bruins right now is they lack scoring beyond their top line and have a lot of young players trying to find their way on the second and third lines. This is mainly due to the fact that they are lacking another "star" forward. Before the injuries that came their way, they were still having a tough time relying on other forwards beyond Pastrnak, Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci.
Related to this issue is the fact they are never going to win a cup with the team and assets they have now unless a young forward or two take a giant step forward in their progression in the next few years or they acquire a star forward and a 3rd line center. The division they are coming out of has them losing in the first round, if not the second. There is no way this team can compete with Toronto or Tampa and expect to win both series, let alone one of those series.
As we have seen in the past, so many teams have failed to get over the hump of being a good team that can make the playoffs but lose in the first couple of rounds. We have seen it with teams like Minnesota, Anaheim, even the Rangers before this year. It's tough in today's NHL to make a deep playoff run without players who can be relied upon night in and night out.
