BOS-Dadonov

I'd rather lose Blidh for nothing than be forced to get rid of Clifton or Lauzon, but somebody does need to go to get within roster limits. And I agree, if Chara could stay effective it would be extremely helpful as the left side D is weak, and Miller at this point is a complete wildcard after breaking his kneecap twice and not playing for two years.

Fair enough, I wasn't sure if Detroit would need Bjork or not. I'm not sure where BOS would move him, but Bjork wouldn't fit in the lineup if the Bruins signed Dadonov.

Yeah, DeBrusk might get more than $2m (and I edited it to $2.75m after your comment), but I don't think he'll make as much as Craig Smith because Smith and DeBrusk actually have the exact same amount of points over the last three years with 120 pts each. DeBrusk doesn't have much leverage when negotiating because he can't sign anywhere else as an RFA, and I don't see him signing for more than a UFA with the exact same production as him unless the Bruins want to give him a long term offer where they think they'll be getting him at a lower-than-market-value price during the later years of the deal when DeBrusk would have been a UFA. However, I don't think the Bruins want to give him a long term offer yet, and I think that DeBrusk would be happy to become an unrestricted free agent during his age 26/27 (idk his exact DOB) season when he should be in his prime and set to sign a big deal.

OEL to the Bruins for a nice return
ARI wouldn't be getting near enough in return for OEL, and BOS would then have two top six forward roles to fill instead of one, and they would have less cash to make it happen with.

Tying together some rumors Spitball
This proposal is interesting because of the rumors regarding a Chiasson for Bjork trade. I think that BOS was shopping Bjork because if they sign a free agent top six forward (after the Hall to Buffalo signing, BOS would probably be looking at either Dadonov or Hoffman), they would have no need for Bjork and would likely need to free up some cap space as well. However, Chiasson and Athanasiou are more expensive than Bjork and DeBrusk, and Chiasson and Athanasiou are arguably a worse duo. Bjork is better and much younger than Chiasson, and Bjork may even be better than Athanasiou due to Athanasiou's recent regression. DeBrusk is the best player in the trade, and a 3rd round pick doesn't do nearly enough to close the talent gap between the players involved. And even after this trade, BOS would still be in need of a quality top six winger to play with David Krejci, and they would have less cash to spend.

Realistic Eichel Deal
Krejci for Eichel one for one benefits Boston. Eichel is a young franchise superstar who has yet to hit his peak. Krejci is a stud and worth his $7.2 mil cap hit, but he is aging and past his prime, and even now Eichel is better than him. By the time Buffalo is a true Stanley Cup contender, Krejci will be too old to be very productive at all. The other half of this trade makes no sense, Nick Ritchie is worth a bottom 6 forward at most, and trading a first round pick for him would be insane. Both pieces of this trade heavily benefit Boston.

stranger things have happened
No way BOS accepts that trade either. With a 27 goal season and no season with less than 16 goals (as a rookie), DeBrusk is better than Garland and significantly better Virtanen. Bjork has put up smaller numbers than Garland and Virtanen, but his development was delayed by a year because of a shoulder injury (which is now healed) and has .31 pts/gm compared to Virtanen's .34 pts/gm. Bjork still has a high ceiling. BOS doesn't improve by swapping out Bjork and DeBrusk for Garland and Virtanen, and there is absolutely no way they can afford to spend $3.3 mil on an AHL player in Sven Baertschi. As their core ages and their window of opportunity for a championship closes, BOS needs to free up cap space for a true top 6 winger, much less throw away $3.3 mil for absolutely nothing. Player for player, the Bruins become a worse team with this deal, they waste cap space they don't have, AND they lose a draft pick. This trade in no way makes sense for BOS.

Trade Proposal 2
What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Connor Carrick is not even a full time NHL caliber player. Pavel Zacha is a weaker bottom 6 NHL forward. Miles Wood is a good player, but he still is not even as good as Jake DeBrusk, who scored 27 goals and had 42 points two seasons ago, and had 19 goals and 35 points this past season. Charlie McAvoy is one of the best defensemen in the league, and he still is very young and on a very good contract. As a defenseman, McAvoy has almost the same amount of points as Carrick and Zacha combined in the last three years. Matt Grzelcyk is another solid young everyday NHL defenseman and is worth far more than any players of Carrick's or Zacha's caliber, especially on a team that needs left handed defensemen. McAvoy, a former 1st round pick himself who developed into and NHL superstar, is worth AT LEAST a 1st round pick and an NHL superstar in return, but probably more because he is the cornerstone defenseman for a contending franchise.
This proposal is too ludicrous to even be considered a pipe dream.
