Ok that makes sense but it’s a false comparison. Talbot and Mrazek is a better tandem than Talbot/Copely.

Why? Unless you think they should overpay for Saros then I don’t see a better goalie option that’ll likely be available.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jco5ta5</b></div><div>I might be missing something but what i see is Hawks retain on a goalie and in return get a goalie having a really tough year only to get worse with Hawks D in front of him, two picks not in 1st round, and a guy who is really good but also listed as “month to month” with a back injury. He can be on LTIR if salary is tight for LA and if not we’re taking $4.25M off their hands.
It seems like this leans in LAK’s favor heavily. What am I missing?</div></div>
You’re missing the fact that you’d be getting two draft picks for taking on a couple of players who are UFAs in the summer. Why would you not want the free picks?

He’s a goalie, 90% of them are a yo-yo, up and down. The only goalies in this league that are consistently good are Saros, Hellebuyck, Sorokin, Shesterkin, and Vasilevsky.

You really think Woll is getting us through the playoffs? Because I haven’t seen enough of him to believe that. I’m tired of what if goaltending. We need a sure thing.

Thoughts On This Highly Unlikely Trade That I Would Love
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Oh I agree, and fixing the Blueline is going to be hard considering the cap situation we are in. Many like to blame Dubas, but I guarantee he wouldn't have spent 13+ million on guys that don't fit the team at all. Treliving has been an utter disaster and we can thank Shanahan for that. It's pretty clear to me that Shanahan had way too much say in what moves Dubas was allowed to make. Now we have an amazing core and a GM and President that don't have any idea how to build a team.</div></div>
I have never been a Dubas fan. However, last season he put together what I thought was by far his best team and we only were eliminated by a red hot goalie and Tkachuk. Keefe should be out of a job and so should Shanny but it’s clear MLSE has no idea what they’re doing yet again. If we cleaned house after Dubas left and started over that’d be the real answer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Do you want to take almost half the teams offence off the team? Without Nylander, JT isn't scoring the points he is this season. Take that offence out and how many goals is this team going to score? 2 a game? 3 if Matthews gets a hattrick?
Are you even paying attention to what's happening with this team? Shanahan's ego is sinking this team. Our new GM is an idiot, and he's here because Shanahan didn't want to give Dubas full autonomy.</div></div>
I agree with basically everything you said but we are too weak at the back to be a real contender. I will be sold on Woll when I see a full season. Until then I’d much rather have a proven top goalie, something we haven’t had here in decades.

Do you want to pay Nylander Marner money? Because I say no to that. And a lot of goalies have looked great in a hand full of starts. I don’t trust a goalie until I see them put it together for more than a full season.

Imagine OReilly stayed
I don’t think Domi would have been signed and Dumba already is paid less than Klingberg. That was just an all around bad signing. I’d love to have ROR back but it’s pretty clear he wanted to be about as far away as you can get from our market and he found one that’s a polar opposite.

Upgrading In Goal and On The Blueline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>NSH declines. TOR is not a good trade partner for Saros with NSH. Its mostly because there isn't a lot that TOR has that NSH would want for Saros. NSH would need top end center/forward talent and/or top end RD talent. The current deal is to much of a "quantity over quality" deal, which NSH is not interested in.
A deal I would consider is Saros would be Knies, Niemelä, Samsonov, and 2024 1st and another pick that is 3rd round or higher. Saros is the only top 5 goalie even remotely on the market, so any team who wants him will have to pay handsomely for him. That said, I think there are several other teams that would beat that offer as they can give NSH more of what they want, being top end center talent. Also, TOR looks like they already have a stud in goal with Woll, so I don't think Saros would be a crazy value add for the long term.</div></div>
I’d pitch in Fraser Minten or Ethan Cowan as centre prospects but Knies is a no.

I Like This Team A Lot And I Only Want One More Move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Here's the thing it wont work
39 mins was enough to see how disasterous it was
If you need more proof here's some stats through 3 games together
High Danger Chances for 6
High Danger Chances against 20
XGF = 1.94
XGA = 3.26
X goals against per 60 = 5.45
In comparison
McCabe-Liligren in 4 games
High Danger Chances for 10
High Danger Chances against 8
XGF = 2.46
XGA = 1.91
X goals against per 60 = 2.22
So you would basically be making thing happen like they did games 1-3 very bad defensively and RIP the goalies. Gambling time's already passed for those two.
You dont put 2 things that have shown to not work together and expect them to work
As then we be repeating Muzzin-Holl and that pairing was a disaster.
But yea the Dcore above is not even close to an improvement over what we have 2nd and 3rd pair are downgraded</div></div>
I hated the Klingberg signing so I don’t see a good fit for him anywhere on the blueline. I do think Andersson drives offence all on his own more so than Klingberg does. Looking at Klingberg’s numbers from last year even on a bad team he still wasn’t driving offence, which is the one reason anyone would be interested in him.
