Great. He still has no value to the Bruins.

Montour has no value to Boston (or any good team for that matter). They have McAvoy/Carlo/Clifton/Miller to play the right side and a 2nd doesn't make up the value at all.

Nobody is taking on a contract that has 54 million remaining on it for nothing. You're going to have to give up multiple assets to move that contract

I get that Ekholm is very good and on a reasonable contract, but Lundell and a 1st may be too much, especially considering Florida's performance in 21/22 is a question mark

Blow it up lads
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>I think they're all fine, except for the Forsberg and Ekholm trades. I think a better prospect and/or fewer roster dumps from TOR would bring the value closer for NSH. With the Ekholm proposal, I don't feel the (presumably) late picks are enough, with NSH having to take Moore too.</div></div>
I would tend to agree that a better prospect makes sense from the Nashville side in the Forsberg trade, but above Hirvonen, you have Amirov, Robertson, and Sandin. I doubt the Leafs would give up any of them, which makes guys like Hirvonen and Niemala make the most sense in this scenario.
I don't see Moore as negative value in this case. His contract is manageable and he's more than capable of holding down a roster spot. The Bruins are a tough case here, they don't have any prospects I'm assuming they're willing to part with (Beecher, Studnicka, Vaakanainen), and the prospects they probably are comfortable with losing, aren't particularly great. That's why I think getting those picks is the best choice, rather than getting nothing.

That's fair but giving someone like RNH that big of a contract is a big risk.

Blow it up lads
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Well the Leafs aren't going to blow up their team for Forsberg. Trading two of their top 9 forwards for one forward, plus a first and two seconds....c'mon no team is going to offer that much.</div></div>
Forsberg is a high-end talent and that alone justifies his price, but in this case, he's going to Toronto for less than 4M for this year and next. The Leafs have plenty of viable depth options to fill the holes of Kerfoot and Mikheyev. Additionally, the 1st and 2nd will most likely be late in their respective rounds, and Hirvonen isn't exactly an A prospect. This is a more than reasonable price to pay for a player who undoubtedly will give the Leafs the best top 6 in the league.

You're better off signing Danault to 6-6.5 x 7 than signing RNH to 7.5 x 7

For someone on a big contract who is already declining, I'd say a solid young defenseman, 2 2nd round picks, and a B prospect is a pretty good return.</div></div>
You're getting him 50% retained, he's still a high-end talent, Panthers are not particularly strong at C after Barkov. He's worth more than a cap dump, a question mark, and a couple of throwaway picks.
Some other team will 100% beat this offer

He's 22, he's not going to be much better than he is now. He can't even lock down a consistent top 6 spot on the team. To say you wouldn't trade him for an elite talent like Forsberg is total nonsense.
