Zucker doesn’t get to play with Crosby because he’s constantly injured, the guy can’t stay healthy. He has negative value for that reason.

An early second so worth nothing?

You don’t think bear is worth 2 thirds? If an early second means nothing, then surely 2 thirds also means nothing?

As for olofson, only 12 of his 49 points were on the PP last year. That really is not a big percentage. There is no denying that he has an elite shot, if you pair that shot with Crosby it could be deadly.</div></div>

Ruhwedel and Lyubushkin are basically the same players, but Ruhwedel will only count for 800K against the Pens cap, and with the nature of their roster, that nearly $2 million difference means a lot.

Even when Zucker has been healthy he never gets a fair shake at playing alongside players that he works well with, but even holding that out, he still was a + offensive and defensive impact player for the Pens in 21/22.

That "early 2nd" is a magic bean. Whoever the Pens pick with that selection is more likely to never make the NHL than he is to be a meaningful player for the Pens.

The entire Bear trade is just a disaster. The Pens have better players already on the roster than him. Makes no sense to bring him in.

I don't care about how good Olofsson's shot is. Even if it is as good as you meatheads are saying it is, it hasn't helped him become a positive impact player at 5v5 offensively.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hullsy09</b></div><div>Pettersson and Ruhwedel traded obviously “make the team worse” right now because we are getting picks back. So that argument isn’t really applicable to those trades.

Kapanen needs a change of scenery and there is the possibility he gets non tendered so we are using him and a few picks to get a good young dman with upside.

Buffalo trade zucker has negative value so we are essentially getting two picks (the 2nd, and the pick we wouldn’t have to give up to dump zucker) to swap our young dman for a young forward. We don’t have too many pure goal scorers, guys who can beat the goalie with their shot clean, so getting a young player who can do that in olofson would be a nice addition and gaining bear in the other trade is essentially our Marino replacement albeit not quite as good</div></div>

Pettersson and Ruhwedel shouldn't be traded period. They make the team better than the replacements you brought in for them.

I couldn't care less about Kapanen. He's a lost cause.

Zucker provides a lot of value to this team. Even though he's somewhat undersized, he's one of the few physical players on this team and it's not his fault he doesn't get to play with Crosby (who he actually works well alongside). Olofsson is useless at 5v5 and isn't worth the contract you've given him and DEFINITELY isn't worth losing Marino over and the pick means absolutely nothing.

So again, every move you made makes the team objectively worse.
