While I don't think either of those players are on the "available" list from the Kraken, I would accept that offer.

Murray Strome Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DubasJr</b></div><div>Getting mixed messages from Canes fans. Some say they would do Kerfoot for Necas straight up. Some say they would do Holl with a mid round pick for him. Others are asking for the moon. I figured this trade helps canes mid 6 by adding Kerfoot on a solid contract bc y’all prob can’t afford to bring back nino and they are very similar players. Right side in CAR is looking thin. Holl could fit on that 2nd or 3rd pair and I think would benefit from the way the canes play. What do u think the canes are asking for Necas?</div></div>
Any fan saying holl plus a mid round pick is smoking crack. Holl himself is worth a 3rd max. Kerfoot is Ight I guess but not what the canes need. They have their centers set for the rest of kerfoots contract. Necas is the best player in the deal and I wouldn’t trade him for kerfoot and holl together. Tbh there isn’t a piece from the leafs that works for the canes. Only thing I can think of nylander but even then canes have to add and they probably won’t want to add because he has two years left and a 7mil cap hit. It’s not like the leafs don’t have assets that equal necas, it’s that the assets they do have the canes won’t want. Even if you made a trade of two top prospects like hirvonen and amirov the canes probably still say no because it’s win now mode even tho those two combined are worth a little more than necas. Leafs have a better shot at a guy like puljujarvi or Kapanen but of Kapanen puljujarvi and necas, necas is the most valuable as he is the youngest and has had the best season out of all of them before. All underperformed this year, all would be getting sold low on, and all are former 1st round picks.

Bulking up the LW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DubasJr</b></div><div>Solid player. Definitely worth a 2nd and another mid round pick. 3rd may be a little too much but if it’s not Seattle paying that price, someone will. A versatile player who can play C or W puts up 50+ points, kills penalties. I for one like Kerfoot just seems to be a lot of rumours about him being moved. And considering Seattle would’ve taken him from the leafs if they didn’t make that McCann deal with pits thought it made some sense.</div></div>
Sure. Toronto may get a 2nd (+) for him. But won't be from Seattle, IMO . . . certainly not for 35th OA. The fact Seattle would have taken him <strong>for free</strong> (over Dermott !?) if McCann hadn't been acquired, does not for a strong argument make!
I have no argument that Kerfoot has value, but Kraken value their opportunities to build this organization through the draft more, and with ample cap space they can be creative in improving their current roster without using picks. I strongly believe Seattle will trade picks in only 3 ways: 1) to move up in the draft 2) to acquire near NHL ready prospects to build their farm system and 3) to acquire a substantial roster piece that moves the needle in a big way. (last one is a big long-shot!) Kerfoot, Holl, Mrazek . . . Barrie, Myers, Pearson . . . and on and on an on --- these are not the players Francis has accumulated picks and saved cap space for, IMO.

Dubas Is Clueless
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DubasJr</b></div><div>If you think about all the “failures” of the past 5 years their has actually only been 2. CBJ and MTL. Caps we had no business being in that series, BOS the 1st time same thing. BOS the 2nd time I would say BOS were slight favourites going in and then became heavier favourites once the leafs only advantage (depth at centre) was taken away by yet another Kadri suspension. You can argue Anderson has to make a few more big saves but at the end of the day still were the underdogs bc of Kadri.
Now CBJ is a different story. Leafs just got goalied. Merz and Korp put up the one of the best save percentage in a series in NHL history.
MTL Campbell matches Price’s play and the best goal scorer and one of the top point getters in the league combine for 1 goal in 7 games. That is an anomaly!!! Don’t get me started how they out chance MTL 12-0 in OT and lose off a lucky deflection. That series ended up boiling down to the leafs being very unlucky. They dominated Montreal in 6 of the 7 games.</div></div>
Completely agree. If the leafs just missed the playoffs Matthews’s first two years would that be better? Then it just be 3 in a row.
I think people get too caught up on 5 in a row and forget the context of it.
They should of bet Columbus but that was a weird year because of covid and I think everyone forgets the leafs we’re not very good before covid shut the season down, Florida was right on then for the last playoff spot.
If they bet Columbus Tampa would of took them out, which technically would of still been a first round exit.
It’s only last year they completely choked and couldn’t get the job done, it makes it so much worse for the fan base that it was Montreal. As much as I don’t want to deal with another off season after losing in the first round, if they play Tampa or Florida hard and lose a close series, it is what it is.
Problem is they gotta keep Matthews happy and willing to sign an extension above anything. As long as he is here, there’s a window to win. If somehow they don’t win a round this year or next, why would he sign an extension?
Unfortunately they are in a spot where they have to make progress even tho it will be their toughest matchup yet.

Dubas Is Clueless
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DougieGilmour</b></div><div>Marner’s contract is a good 2 million or more over what he’s worth. Matthews is not McDavid and although he isn’t overpaid by much he’s still a bit overpaid. Tavares never should have been signed. I like him but you can’t pay two centres 11 million plus a year. Nylander’s deal is the only one that’s good.
Now onto more stupid management of money… signing Mrazek was beyond stupid. Should have went after a cheaper goalie knowing Campbell’s contract only had one more year. Overpaying Rielly next year is only going to kill our cal even more. We have to find a way now to move Muzzin or Brodie. Kerfoot isn’t overpaid but I’d love to have Kadri as a second line centre for a few million less than Tavares makes.</div></div>
Why even watch the games if you just give yourself heart palpitations and stress this much.

Not a great set of trades to win cup this year or have any real future... boeser, rakell and manson will all walk in free agency and our goaltending still isn't strong enough to win a cup this year. So all we get is one more year of jt Miller for 3 core peices, two high picks and two useful journeymen. I would hope **** would even think of trading Nylander or Liljegren.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>njlaf705</b></div><div>Copp is a huge upgrade on Kerfoot. Copp can play PP and PK, centre and wing, and he plays great anywhere in the lineup even on a top line.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Yikes</div></div>
This year
One has 47 GP and 28 pts and 31 blocks and 33 hits 120 pp minutes and 118 pk minutes
The other has 50 GP and 34 pts and 35 blocks and 42 hits 4.6 minutes 92.4 pk minutes
Same order last 3 years
The first 165 gp 93 pts 159 hits and 99 blocks
The other 171 gp 85 points 131 hits 110 blocks
It's hard to add the 3 toi on mobile so I'm deferring.
Both play wing and c. Both play pk regularly and well. Copp plays more pp but wouldn't if he was on the leafs. Kerfoot is faster. Copp is likely a bit better defensively.
Choose above which player you think is better offensively (I probably choose the second as not getting the pp time)
If your curious the first guys even strength points per 60 in the last three years is 1.5, 2.0, 1.7
The second guys is 1.8, 1.7, 2.8
Tell me which guy you even think is which. They're both middle six wingers/centres who you can punch in wherever in the line up and will do a solid enough job if high and good if low in the lineup.

I didnt want to trade pysyk the first time but its a solid deal for a replacable guy on a developing team and i like that your paying extra for us to take holl, who could suddenly improve with age or be waived as i'd rather hagg for the roster and money.
That copp trade gets denied though. They'll get a first or better for him for sure especially if they retain, prospects would have to be more enticing.
