Vladar to Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Tampa gets a goalie, Calgary gets some cap space, a 3rd round pick and another cheap defenseman to battle Oesterle for the 6th/7th spot. Calgary then trades Connor Zary, their own 2024 2nd round pick and Tampa's 2025 3rd to Ottawa for Shane Pinto.
Note: For several days the website has been popping errors and refusing to post whenever I try adding adding Pinto to a similar trade otherwise that would be in the trade above too.
Calgary then signs Pinto to a 3X3 bridge contract and puts Oliver Kylington on LTIR when the season starts. Pinto will still be RFA for one more year when the bridge runs out. Pinto starts the season as a top 6 winger.</div></div>
I can see TB doing this deal. I'm not sure OTT does the Pinto deal. Value is pretty fair, but I think they'll exhaust all other options before moving Pinto.

Neighbors winds up in EDM based on this..........he's in and out or ANA for some reason.
This trade is brutal for everyone but EDM

My favourite line combinations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Great post, but still have some questions:
1. Where will Toronto finish in the ranking? - First in the division, 4th / 5th league
2. What will most likely be the PP? - Klingberg, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Bertuzzi; Reilly, Tavares, Knies, Domi, Robertson
3. Who is likely to have a breakout year or who will surprise in terms of point production? Who is advantaged by the line combinations? Knies for sure in the top 6. Bertuzzi will have a career year
4. Who is likely to have a bad year in point production? Jarnkrok and Brodie will have career lows in points
5. How many games each goalie is likely to play?</div></div> Barring injury, it's 70% Sammy / 30% Woll (as high as 65% / 35%)
Personally, I'd put JT on the 2nd RW with Knies on the LW and move Robertson down to the 3rd line

He's got Jam.......He's never gonna lead the team in points, but he brings an edge that I think ANA lacks. And he's never gonna be a big cap hit.
And tell your GM to stop trying to get Zegras to agree to a $4 x 3 bridge deal. If he forces this, you're gonna lose him as a UFA

I still think this is an overpay. Olafsson 25% retained for JGP and Wahlstrom is a bit of an overpay, but get's NYI out from under 2 additional years of JGP, and they probably can't afford to qualify Wahlstom anyways

Sorry my friend, If Lou trades Dobson, he's out of a job, esp for a return like this.
NYI would no doubt love to shed JGP, but it might be a Olafsson for JPG with NYI adding a kicker like Aho or Salo to cover the additional 2 years on JGP's cap hit.

I'm not sure if it's an over valuing of Nylander, or an under valuing of BUF's guys. Either way, it's not a trade that looks good for anyone but Leafs nation

Connor Hellebuyck to Detroit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>penguinswin</b></div><div>With all due respect, huh?
Helly > Husso
Schmidt > Chiarot
Namestikov ~ Berggren (not good comparison to each other, but let's call them similar for arguments sake)
So the 2nd & 3rd this year are the balance to get Schmidt, but a 1st that is 3 drafts away has limited value and does not get you Helly. Like Windjammer said, WPG does not do this; and DET should be jumping at this IF GMSY really thinks this is the year to go for the playoffs and Helly extends</div></div>
Don't forget, DET saves a year on Husso vs Helle and a year on Chiarot vs Schmidt. Cap flexibilty for the future, getting rid of 2 under performers.

Alright then
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Yeah, pretty sure the Canes will pass on that. Janmark doesn’t provide anything that isn’t already being provided on the roster or in the pipeline. And with guys like ZAR, Perlini, and maybe even Shore likely to land a 2-way deal off their PTO, as well as guys like Drury, Suzuki, Ponomarev, Rees, Robidas, and Gunler all competing for NHL roster spots this year, they have more than enough forward depth. Not to mention, the coaching staff really likes Chatfield, so I don’t see him getting moved.
Canes probably won’t mind giving you Coghlan for free though.</div></div>
I don't understand why Coghlan doesn't get more playing time and love in CAR. I get they have depth, but I would think some team in need of offense would come calling for him

They could move either Zegras or Cozens to the wing..........problem is, ANA probably won't consider this trade, and the offer sheet would probably need to be in the $9M range which means 2 firsts a second and a third. Do they really want to pay him more than Thompson?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>So how does trading a top 4 defenseman for an average bottom pairing defenseman and a low end role playing forward help?
It doesn't clear the defense logjam, it just replaces a good defenseman with a meh one and adds a role playing forward that you say the Jets have to many of.
If the Jets are retaining on Dillon they should get more than a mid to late 3rd.</div></div>
THough your assessment of Lafferty is spot on, you're way off on Liljgren. He'll be a top 4 dman this year, with a development to a #2 on most teams over the next 2 years. He took big strides last year, and is still only 24. Dillon is a 32 year old journeyman, who doesn't add much offense, and had a much worse +/- that Liljgren, playing in front of a better goalie and playing with a better d partner.

Buf - Cgy Moving on
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Krebs Rosen and a 1st wouldn't get Lindholm. Not a chance. First line centers don't go cheap.</div></div>
It depends on the team acquiring him and if he makes it known what his intentions are this offseason. If he says he's not going to resign in CAL, it will lowe his value and most likely make him a true rental. Most Cup contenders will slot him in the 2C spot. In BUF, he's not taking the 1C from Thompson, and some might argue that he might not even take Cozens spot at #2. Now if you look at a move to BOS, where they have no true #1, the return should be much greater because their window is closing and they have no true 1C

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>A 3rd might not be enough it might take a 2nd.Make it a 1st and Calgary retains 50%.</div></div>
LOL, I get where you're coming from, but don't get too greedy. If it was a clear prospect, a first and that person for 50% retained would probably work. But Krebs is now a bonafide NHLer, and still only 22. My guess the deal would end up being a 2nd and Krebs for Backlund 50% retained. Now if you moved Lindholm to BUF at 50% retained you'd get Krebs, Rosen and the first.
