Ranger to the cup
I would definitely consider this as the Flames. Kakko has shown flashes of the talent that got him drafted 2OA but obviously not consistently.
Being 6'3" means he isn't projected to hit his breakout threshold until 400 NHL games.
Flames can afford to be more patient and give him better deployment than the Rangers.

3-way deal
Absolutely not.
Jackets will do EVERYTHING possible to keep jiricek.
IF for some reason they determine he needs to be traded, he's bringing back a top 5 pick or an elite prospect at minimum.

Since yall value Monahan so high lol
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>When Monahan resigned in MTL, it was with the promise he'd be traded to a contender. He's a useful piece now that it seems his injury issues are behind him, but Habs fans are nuts if they think he's going to get a return of higher than a late round first. If there's 50% retention, a B prospect / later round pick would be added.</div></div>
I haven't ever said he's worth a king's ransom, a late 1st is what I expect. A handful of future nuts and bolts is not a late first, however. 50% retention is the most likely scenario and I agree with your valuation.
This is the equivalent of going car shopping and being offered 3 wheels and a radio.

FLYERS KRAKEN deadline deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Vince Dunn is a top 10-15 Dman in the league. Seattle isn't trading him, and if they did, it would cost you a helluva lot more than a second pairing dman and an underperforming disgruntled forward</div></div>
I don't consider Ristolainen a 2nd pairing defenseman. He might be on the 2nd pair in Philly but he'd be the 6th or 7th D on a good team.

Give it up already. Calgary isn't having a fire sale. you won't be getting bargain basement prices on players at the top of all the trade boards.

canucks push
I don't see why Philly, a playoff team, would help out VAN by taking their problem child off their hands in exchange for a very good and important part of their team. For nothing but a low level first round pick. Philly doesn't want futures. Konecny is 5x the player Kuzmenko is.

Ready for the hate
The thought: Not sure if Lindholm is going to re-sign/be able to re-sign with Wpg... so possible rental for a Cup run for both guys. Flames replace Tanev with Nate Schmidt, who has been doing excellently defensively for the Jets, from what I've 'read and heard' etc, has one year left after this season, and if he remains a steady, reliable veteran defender, would be a prime trade deadline 2025 candidate to a contending team. They replace Lindholm with prospect C Chaz Lucius and a likely late first rounder. Sorry Mox, I agree with Frank Seravalli that Lindholm, at least at this point in his career, is best suited as an "elite 2nd line center" if he gets on a team surrounded by star players, but not really the top flight top line center we'd like to be compensated for... if the Tanev for Schmidt part looks unfair because you think Tanev is the better defenceman and is worth more, then the Lucius and 1st for a UFA rental with sub-par stats makes up for it.

Hanifin - Andersson
Schmidt - Weegar
Solovyov/Gilbert/Oesterle/DeSimone
Huberdeau - Sharangovich - Pelletier
Zary - Kadri - Pospisil
Coleman - Backlund - Mangiapane
Greer - Ruzicka - Klapka
Wpg:
Morrissey - DeMelo
Dillon - Pionk
Samberg - Tanev
Connor - Scheifele - Ehlers
Perfetti - Lindholm - Vilardi
Niederreiter - Lowry - Appleton
Barron - Namestnikov - Iafallo

Condition - Car 5th becomes 1st if PLD extends 4plus years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>How wrong we're you lol</div></div>
To be fair, everyone in this thread ended up being wrong, each in their own hilarious way.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Beatz</b></div><div>This is a garbage trade for the jets. Dubois is 100x better...</div></div> PLD and KK being basically tied for points halfway through the year is funny to me.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>I have no doubt Chevy will get a decent return for him, but it's not what jets fans are going to want or expect.</div></div> This one is the closest to being correct, especially because fans wanted a 2c back (how was that ever going to happen). It's mostly funny because the Jets get to pick a player with MTL's 2nd round pick that they received in exchange for PLD.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jeff902</b></div><div>Don't think that PLD will fetch a King's ransom.</div></div> Oh you sweet summer child.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Allows them to target a higher end C for the 1C spot, because Scheifele will be gone soon.</div></div> Just know that I agreed with you at the time, but I am so glad we were wrong on this one.
This thread is just a barrel of laughs all around. Congratulations to Carolina for dodging this bullet.

Van loads up for the playoffs Sens start their retool
This is very bad for the Sens. Canucks are literally getting 2 prime assets for a 1st, a few late round pick value items, and a neutral roster player for cap reasons.
Getting BOTH of those players with retention definitely would require Lekkermaki or Wallinder being involved.
