(CHI/PIT) - Knott for Cramarossa
Knott gonna lie… this is Knott what I expected to see today. I do knott think that Knott ever became what he was supposed to be, Knott to be mean or anything, but Knott was a bust through and through. Chicago get Cramarossa, who does knott have a name I can work into some contrived bit., so Chicago does knott win this one.

St. Louis Blues signed Troy Brouwer (1 Year / $750,000 AAV)
It never hurts to bring back an old fan favorite. Even though he might not get a lot of games this year, Brouwer is still a serviceable 4th line/extra forward on a team that could use one. Yeah this means a prospect goes to the minors most likely, but another season of development is good for the rookies.

To be honest they look pretty similar. Pesce's raw on-ice stuff is better but Slavin is better in all the individual areas other than entry defense. Offhand, I'd say they're comparable overall, Slavin's better with the puck and Pesce's better without it, though you can't really go wrong with either of them.

He's done that with a respectable 5v5 points/60 of 0.93 (57th among D in this timeframe, right above Josh Manson). His on-ice score and venue-adjusted xGF% ranks ninth among all D with over 1000 minutes in that span. He ranks in the 92nd percentile in posession exit% and 95th percentile in breaking up zone entries. He's a number 1 D, no question.

Where do you get numbers for possession exits and zone entries, I can't find them on like EH or NST

Who gets 100 points this year?
McD and Drai are mortal locks bar injury, pasta's a good bet and Marchand can probably do it again. Matthews and MacKinnon also seem really likely to do it this year. Carlson, Barkov and Ovie are the wild cards: on the face of it Ovie's current production looks fairly sustainable and he's barely off a 100-point pace, Barkov's close but his wingman's shooting 20%, Carlson's on pace but a third of assists are on the powerplay and he's shooting 13%.
Let's say the M brigade, Drai, Pasta, and Ovie. 7 total, which is consistent with the increase in scoring. So sayeth my 4 am thoughts.

Right now there are 11 players on pace to score 100+ points this season. Pasta, McDavid and Draisaitl are pretty safe bets if they play 82 games. It'd be amazing if Carlson reached 100 points as a D. He's currently on pace for 119. Crazy.

Mike Smith's performance bonus structure:
- $1,000,000 bonus for 20+ Games Played
- $1,000,000 bonus for 30+ Games Played
- $1,000,000 bonus for EDM Making Playoffs
Smith's Maximum Salary = $5,000,000
So if Koskinen gets injured ... Edmonton will have an $8,500,000 - $9,500,000 goalie tandem.
And $2,000,000 - $3,000,000 of this will carry over onto next years cap.
Which means that in 2020-21:
- Edmonton would have $6,500,000 - $7,500,000 committed to goalies (Koskinen being the only one signed).
- Edmonton will also have $3,800,000 remaining in buyout penalties (Sekera and Pouliot).
- Edmonton will also have $10,000,000 committed to Lucic and Russell.
Total Result Equals: roughly $21,000,000 comitted to Koskinen + Lucic + Russell for the 2020-21 season.

Tanev better score at least 15 goals a year because that contract is literal trash.
I'd take Sissons at 2.8 for an extra year any day of the week over Tanev @ 6 years.

Not saying it's nothing, but PPG in the CHL is nothing serious. Points don't describe how a defensemen plays his primary position:defense.
