Ha, didn't see they were a Winnipeg fan. Pittsburgh would have no interest in Robinson, Krebs would be younger and has some potential.

Would you swap Krebs for Robinson in that Pittsburgh trade?

I'd take Ty Smith easily over Friedman and/or Ruhwedel (if Smith can play the off side) vs. exposing him to waivers.

Penguins PASS. Ty Smith is Dumoulin's replacement so I doubt they'd trade him.

Yes to Dahlén, Gagner, Steel, and add Milano to that potential mix. Milano & Gagner would be my top 2
Sprong & Galchenyuk - been there done that.

I like that you took the time to actually think out the ideas here!
Many here are the "trade Friedman to Edmonton for McDavid" types, gets boring.

What if we trade Jarry to EDM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensman69</b></div><div>This isn’t bad at all but I would hope we can squeeze more out for Jarry. Also not sure why I’m seeing all these Jarry trades right now, he’s not going anywhere for the presumable future.</div></div>
Agree Jarry is staying put. I'd trade him for Gibson perhaps, but that's a looooong shot.
Why is everyone so intent on trading Marino? I think it would be a mistake to trade him. Also a mistake to not resign Letang.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Orango</b></div><div>Joseph is unproven, and Fleury's value will most likely go up this year as the Kraken will play him in a top 4 role and trade Sousy. The Kraken have also said they don't want to spend much above the cap, so taking on Zucker's contract is not ideal for them.</div></div>
Fleury's played 215 games in the NHL and has 31 points - I don't think he's anything more than he is at this point. Joseph has more upside.

Interesting concept...
I doubt Nashville has any interest in trading for 11 million in salary when they need to sign Forsberg+.
Seattle would definitely need a draft pick or two to take that deal, and 13 million off our books.
Be cool if they could swing these deals.

Massive trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pensfan21</b></div><div>5 years is way too long, I would rather take a risk on Letang for 5 than Malkin at 3, but I think giving them that much will cripple the team. When your that old you could drop off very quickly and we are already an old team. Old teams don't win cups. Especially with Sullivans speed system</div></div>
I think you meant you would NOT take the risk, I get that.
I would - I think Letang will still be completely solid for the next 3 years, and very serviceable in the last 2. The last 2 really might not even matter when it boils down to it given the age of the rest of the core.
If there was a suitable replacement for him and the #1 D on the team then I would be more receptive. Klingberg is not, Petry is not. Now Malkin's offense I could see being replaced with someone else, and definitely better at face-offs.
Paying Letang (and Malkin) and removing some other salary would be the way they should go. Shed Petterson or Dumo, so POJ can play. Don't resign some of the bottom six and let a young guy take a spot.
I hope that both are back, but I'm not the GM

That's ok - the trade is terrible. Would rather just pay Letang what he's asking for 5yrs, than have Petry for age 35-37 seasons.

You're about 2-2.5 million off on the Letang signing, no way he signs for 6m/yr.

Embrace the Rebuild - CAR dance partner
Crosby's not getting traded - period. He's probably a future team coach or front office guy for the team, much like Lemieux.
The window to be competitive is still there - they win the series with better goaltending and some injury luck.
Rebuild on the fly can be done - Guentzel (3rd round), Marino (6th round)...

I hope they resign Letang - but its going to take 8-8.5mil over 4-5 years. Trade lower cap hit for more years. He's worth it and given his fitness he can play until he's 40.
Of course if he's set on moving on they it doesn't matter.

Why wouldn't they offload Dumo vs. playing him on the third paring? I'd rather have POJ stick around and play that spot. Would not trade Marino either.

Perhaps - but Vegas has some cap issues to figure out. I believe they have around 81 million committed for 22-23 with Brossoit as the backup.
Have to sign Roy, Kolesar, Janmark, and/or Hague. Also Riley Smith? Also Nolan Patrick's cap hit will come back if he's not injured.
Obviously they can trade a higher priced guy to make space (Dadonov) which will help.

Can FL ask Bob to waive his protection? Not sure the rules on that. Pretty sure he wouldn't get picked by Seattle with his large contract. That'd be the way to go if they could, then they can keep both goalies.
