Mittelstadt goes Wild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EccE</b></div><div>Guerin is still determined to win. He isn't ready to throw this year out the window, nor the next. And when the dead cap evaporates after next season, the Wild will give Kaprizov any amount of money he commands and hope our deep prospect pool is ready to make an impact. Rossi, Boldy and Faber are already key parts of our core, let's see how Wallstedt, Khusnutdinov, Yurov, Öhgren etc. fare in a few years.</div></div>
Oh, I watched Metallurg this season a bit, totally forgot Yurov is the Wild's prospect, he's a beast. I'm glad he's coached by Razin.

You’d have to overpay so hard to get Ek from a division rival it wouldn’t be worth it.

What would it take for Eriksson Ek
In all honesty.
He'd only get moved if Petey WAS on the table. Even then I'd have my doubts, given we would be looking to make a 1-2 punch of the two down the middle on our end. So it wouldn't work from either side. The Wild aren't giving up JEE unless Petey was coming back the other way, and Vancouver isn't moving Petey period.
As for Hughes. He's a great player and untouchable on Vancouver's end, but I can't see Minnesota consider moving Eriksson-Ek for him regardless.

Well let's think about this. You want ek as your teams 3rd best center. On minny he's by far their best center. He's worth way more to minny than any gm would pay unless minny went full rebuild. Minny needs centers more than pretty much any team in the league and has had that same need for years. So unless they can make a package for Pettersson, it's not gonna happen

Addison straight up should be worth at least a 2nd, and even then I'd be disappointed if we don't get a late 1st. He's a good player, Dean just had no time for him for some stupid reason. I think we'll really regret trading him, assuming we do.
Sure there's a few cap moves we could make but when you have $14M in dead cap space you can't afford to have a $3M player who would likely be on our 4th line.

I think the reason Minny is looking to move Addison is because they can't pay him, so I doubt the return they want is a $3 Mil player for the bottom 6.

I love how Mayfield is 1st+ as a rental, but Hartman and Addison both with future team control are not worth a 1st. Classic homer valuations.
Minnesota is not paying a 1st to dump Greenway and Goligoski. That is beyond stupid.

Anything that has Yurov+1st needs to bring back a quality under 27 top 6 center. This doesn’t do that.

Nelson isn’t worth anywhere near this value. The rest of the pieces the Islanders are sending I would mark as “don’t care about” or “zero value to Minnesota”

A forward they can't afford for their biggest and heaviest defenseman on a D-core that already lacks size. The picks given up just make it worse too.

Buffalo TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Anderson is playing better than Fleury. Sabres only need to improve d depth and get Mittlestadt away from Granato</div></div>
Barely, and not enough for Minnesota to justify trading for him. Besides, Flower's numbers are skewed.
Take away the first 3 games where Flower and the team allowed 20 goals against and his first game back from injury where he allowed 6 against as well, his goals against number is basically identical to Anderson's. They're actually playing at the same level.
There's also the fact that Minnesota's defense has been more porous than Buffalo's this year, especially to start the year, so Fleury had been seeing twice the shots Anderson did. Anderson's numbers would have plummeted if he were in Minnesota. But the defense has rebounded nicely since late November and been the 3rd best defense in the league since then.
In short, the team in front of them is the greater cause and effect of why their numbers look the way they do. But on a closer inspection, they've played at the same level all year long. The QS graph at the bottom of the link I provided supports that.
