I don’t think they want Jones either unless they move Bear but I’m saying for that package why would they ever make that Toronto deal when there would be much better options like Korpi and Jones from CBJ.

Why wouldn’t the Oilers just go for Korpisalo? He’s better and younger. And for that package we could probably start talking about adding Seth Jones.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bringer_Of_Snow</b></div><div> Kassian seems to pout a play really carelessly when hes not with McDavid. Not really an easy choice to make.</div></div>
It’s actually a very easy choice. Puljujarvi has been the best forward that isn’t McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH or Yamo and it’s not close. Kassian has had more missed placed passes and whiffed shot attempts than probably any other player. He’s looked completely out of place on the top line and the play seems to die every time he touches the puck. I’m choosing JP every time.

Read them before I posted. Ottawa doesn’t need the cap space only benefit is saving real cash but again they have many other options for taking on cap from teams wiling to pay more without giving up assets. Easy no from Ottawa.

Ottawa doesn’t retain and the wrong team is sending the 2nd pick. Vancouver’s need for cap space trumps Ottawa’s cheap owner.

Well if you would rather have Eriksson then all the power to you but if I’m a rebuilding team like Detroit I take Neal. He can still produce even if it is in a limited role on the PP. it’s not like Detroit is gonna be anywhere near competitive for the next 3 seasons anyway. And realistically the goal wouldn’t be to keep Neal. It would be to flip him with retention at the TDL or offseason and maybe hope for a buyout before his final year on the deal.

Yes basically. I still wouldn’t do it if I’m Edmonton though. Don’t need to move Neal it’s just a matter of what’s better for the team. Having Neal in the lineup vs making one of Chiasson, Archibald or Kassian a healthy scratch. They’re paying Neal 5.75M (6.5M if you include the money retained on Lucic) so they’re not gonna have him sit in the press box they want him playing potentially giving him an increase in value even if it’s by the slightest of margins. Just a waste to keep him on the 4th line cause I honestly don’t see him outplaying anyone on the roster for a spot unless it’s on the PP.

With no Neal in this deal Edmonton laughs at Detroit. And it’s not Detroit’s 2nd in the deal it’s Edmonton’s so it’s a full round they move up (32 picks). Samorukov could easily get them a 3rd alone he’s playing top pairing in the KHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyTownUSA69</b></div><div>Gibson is for sure top 3. No doubt!! T.Raask and A. Vasilevskiy and Gibson. Put them in any order. And Boston and TB’s Defenses are way better. Put a good defensive system in front of Gibson and he’s better. Maybe C.Price is in there but Price is getting up there in age. Gibson already puts up the same, elite stats and is on a bad team. Way better than Binnington. Way more highly touted and such a bettter goalie. Such a better proven goalie. Better numbers all
Around. And like I said St.Louis also has a good defense in front of Binnington.
And M.Reilly and Jones are easily top 5-20. Here is a list of top 20 for this upcoming season. Done by NHL network.
Seth Jones is 5 and Morgan Reilly is 20. REILLY IS A TOP 5 pick. Should have been taken #1 overall. 26 years old. Scored 20 goals and had 72 POINTS as a D-man in 80 games...72 POINTS..What?? What isn’t elite about that??
<a href="https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-top-players-top-20-defensemen/c-319546918" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-top-players-top-20-defensemen/c-319546918</a></div></div>
Alright 1st, don’t care what the NHL network says cause as soon as they put Doughty on that list they lost all credibility. 2nd don’t care where Reilly was drafted or how many points he scored in one season he’s a 4-5 dman defensively. And 3rd if I’m a GM and I’m given the choice of any goalie in the league to be on my team next year I’m choosing Hellybebuyck, Vasilevskiy, Price, Binnington, Bishop or Hart before I take Gibson. I didn’t include Elvis, Sorokin, Jarry or Askarov. Cause they’ve either never played in the NHL or too small a sample size. This also excludes factoring in age/contract price and length it’s just purely for next season.

J.Vrana is a top 10 pick and 24 years old; one of the best young wingers In the game. Same with K.Fiala; top 10 pick, great goal scorer and top line talent. Plays on the top line now. J.Vrana plays on the 2nd line on a really stacked Caps team. Gallagher is still only 28 and a proven 30 goal scorer, playmaker, Top line, one of the best contracts in the NHL. Bobby Ryan would be a great 3rd line winger with Couturier and Fiala.
My 4th line of B.Coleman/Danault/Accairi would be the best defensive 4th line, checking line in the game. All 4 had Selke votes last year. And all can chip and and score too!!
Morgan Reilly a top 5 pick(should have gone #1 overall). Scored 20 goals and had 72 points in 82 games the year before last. Seth jones is another top 5 pick and top young D-man. Dougie Hamilton another 1st round pick and top 5 defensemen in the game. All 3 are are all top 10 defenseman in the NHL. Ekholm is a great second pairing D. Great 2 way D-man. Pelch and Roy are two big bodied, good defensive Dmen and would be a great 3rd pairing. J.Gibson is the best goalie in the league. Top 3 atleast.</div></div>
Reilly and Jones are not top 10 dmen in the league and I wouldn’t say Gibson is top 3 right now.

Well if you look at the 3 of them at their draft year they are pretty much identical. And really if he does turn out to be a player like skinner that’s not a bad thing. Still a good player that’s a good top 6 player on pretty much any NHL team.

This 2 way nonsense is the same stuff I heard from Hawks fans on Saad before he was basically given away</div></div>
Saad was not the same player he was 3-4 years ago he regressed. And there not a single person that isn’t MB that thinks MTL got the better deal. Tuch has one good season where Danault has been consistent. Anyone that thinks Tuch is the best player in that deal is wrong.

The difference is Danault has been a top 10-15 2 way C over the last 4 seasons. Just sucks he played on a team that lacked top 6 offensive talent he could have scored an extra 10-15 points if they had more talent in MTL. On This Vegas squad I bet he reaches 60-65 points. Tuch has had one season where he looked like a top 6 forward. Just got lucky it was a contract year.
