But Harris might be the odd man out here, Norlinder is the new hope of elite skill, and Struble was one of the youngest players of his draft year and the only one who is 19yrs old (his B-day was like 3 weeks ago). I'm aware I also did state I don't think Montreal should pursue this in the description, it was just an idea I had because I kinda like the idea of drafting Mysak but we are too high for it to be worth the reach. Also personally have our top 11 prospects ranked as:
1. Romanov
2. Caufield
3. Primeau
4. Norlinder
5. Ylonen
6. Poehling
7. Brooks
8. Fleury
9. Harris
10 Hillis
11. Struble

Cause you're losing a roster player and the team's most promising 2nd round pick in a while (outside Romanov)</div></div>
Ideally id like to target whoever is left of Jarvis Mercer Holloway Amirov or Gunler at 18 and Mysak at 20 also i personally don't see Struble as one of our top 3 LD prospects not that he isn't good I just like Norlinder and Harris more.

In essence, you are only losing one of the picks as you still have a pick in the same round except you now have more choices towards who you pick, and as I stated it's assuming you were going to pick a LD with one of the picks and now you have 2 young LD who could potentially be that top 4 defender.

Unless Kk is in the Hart conversation this year or approaches point per game totals he's probably only going to be in the 3-5 mil range I think only Suzuki is poised to get over 5 mil and depending on Romanov if he comes in like a makar he might warrant it but I think Kk is lower if he is signed before he becomes an RFA

Unfortunately not with Bergevin at the helm he has never traded a first-round pick and he doesn't seem to have any inclination to do it maybe he does a swap of the higher pick going to Anaheim but I don't think he would. We would be more likely to give you a second next year and maybe return your 4th if you add a 3rd next year if you really want more value

Mav Bourque is ok but is not in the same goal scorer category of the players I have mentioned and is NOT the BAP</div></div>
KHL players drafted in the first round they can come over at any time if I recall correctly (I'm probably wrong). However, I do not see why Montreal drafts a first-round Center unless Marco Rossi drops to us because of his size again, based off what we have we have our 2 top centers and Bergevin believes that so I see us going LW more so then RW because we lack Quantity on the right and Quality on the left

16. Amirov</div></div>
I personally have Holloway and Amriov above Mercer and Jarvis because, in my opinion, we need depth RW as we have 2 very solid RW Prospects already in Ylonen and Caufield and we lack top tier LW prospects but we have the depth in Teasdale and Harvey-Pinard. so I'd try to address the lack of high-end talent on the left first over adding more high-end right side talent.

Would I be too optimistic to believe that he could have a career similar to Nate Thompson? He seems strong defensively he can man the 4th line and if necessary can probably step up into a 3rd line role for stints he won't be a star or flashy pickup for any team but will usually be a solid pickup and could be in the league for 10ish years.

Even if Montreal Drafted Mercer he wouldn't be Paired with Suzuki and Caufield as he is an RW and Montreal's coaching staff has shown a preference for playing players on their stick side with the exception being out of necessity. Also, our LW pool is by far our weakest in quality and RD is our Weakest in Quantity

I agree that they should because to me Holloway seems to check off every box I see us needing. He has Size, Speed, his offence isn't elite but it will be fine if paired with Suzuki, he isn't a defensive liability and I personally see him having a decent floor (Around a bottom 6 Fw).

Montreal declines that trade without a 2nd thought. That trade takes our 2nd best RW (our weakest position) and trades for another LD who would be the 6th Best LD on Montreal (Behind Chairot, Edmondson, Romanov Kulak and Mete) the only way they even consider is if Roslovic is thrown in instead of Niku or Vesalinen is added to the return

No, the trade value is fine I'd prefer a 2nd instead of the 3rd or the addition of a 5th to the trade but that's only if he had a contract when traded. My main problem with this trade is that we are giving up Domi for 2 players who probably wouldn't make the Habs because they happen to be in our 2 deepest prospect position pools if they were a winger and an RD id be all for this trade.

Actually I believe it's pretty close the only thing that would make me like it more is if you switched Hajek for Lundkvist or Skinner if either of them is near the same value as Hajek, mainly because they are RD which is a weaker Prospect position for MTL (I don't know your defensive prospects outside of Keandre Miller and Adam Fox so I'm not sure if those players are above B+ prospects but I don't think Skinner is)

Im fully prepared to get roasted for this Leafs GM attempt - MTL LAK CHI
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>moli92</b></div><div>you can never have too many C prospects. half the time they are converted to wingers anyway. besides the position do you think the trade is fair?</div></div>
While that usually is true Montreal has 8 (9 if you count Evans) young Cs with NHL potential [this means has a strong chance at one day making an nhl roster] (Kk, Poehling, Suzuki, Evans, Hillis, McShane, Olofsson, Houde, Ikonen) while we have really only 3 Wing prospects with NHL potential (Teasdale[LW], Caulfield[RW], Ylonen[RW]) and only 3 RD prospects (Juulsen, Brooks, Fleury) and a decent handful of LD prospects most notably Romanov and Norlinder (HMs to Fairbrother Struble Harris). So yes under normal circumstances a team cant have too many C prospects the barren support in other positions is far too prominent for Montreal to not address. I have said for a while that if Montreal leaves this draft picking a C in the first round that isn't named Byfield I'm going to be annoyed because we now have bigger needs to address than Centre.
Ps: sorry if this seems rude I'm tired of seeing teams trade Montreal young C and LDs for our other prospect positions and I needed to rant.

I saw this on YouTube keep that in mind
I understand the trade from both sides. Montreal gets a more secure Centre for their team and an above-average Defender, while New York gets a first which at the pick Montreal are projected to have should be better than Toews and a wild card Centre that has the potential to be better than Barzal is, however unlikely it may be is up to you but the potential is still there. While I think the trade does make somewhat sense for both sides it only does if Montreal wants to go for it now and New York wants to start a rebuild, both of which I wouldn't do at least right now. So if I was either GM I would decline personally.
