He got a protected 1st in 2024, a 2023 3rd, and Owen Tippett. The guy was 22 and had 94 games at that point. Not really a prospect. He couldn't get any of their decent prospects back. Flyers also sent them a 5th round pick.
Kane will get a similar return. Probably an actual decent prospect, but that's about it. Chicago has no leverage. People are dreaming if they think he's getting a haul back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aasen6</b></div><div>True but if the rumours are true that kanes as mad as people say he is right now with what the hawks are doing then that won’t be a problem at all, he’d definitely choose a lot of places over Buffalo however and pretty much any team that thinks they’re a cup contender would give up the kitchen sink for probably the most clutch playoff performer to ever play the game.</div></div>
Chicago has literally no leverage. Kane decides where he wants to go. He can turn down any trade he wants. Nobody is giving up the kitchen sink for a rental with a big contract in that situation. Likely a 1st from a contender and a prospect.

Kane has an NMC. He gets to decide where he goes. Chicago isn't gonna get a great return for him. An unprotected Sabres 2023 pick would probably be the best thing the Hawks could get back in a trade. Sabres wouldn't do that though.

I didn't say he'd only be in the AHL. He's had some major injury issues and is coming off one right now. They'll start him in Rochester. He'll probably come up during the season.
Thrusting UPL into a starting role with a game load of >50 games would be a bad idea. They're still gonna add a goalie in FA or in a trade.

"Cutter Gauthier goes top 7 probably doesn't get past Detroit at 8th."
Maybe. It's hard to predict.
"Odds of Frank Nazar falling to 16th are 0% he goes top 12 rather easily."
Nah I think there's a decent chance he's gonna go lower than people expect. He's rated very highly by a lot of the online scouts, but a lot of the NHL guys have him ranked a bit lower. Button has him at 25 & Central Scouting has him as the #21 NA skater.

"If Fleury had positive value why was he dumped" It's all on the situation my dude</div></div>
Or he doesn't actually have positive value so they traded him for a LTIR contract instead of trading him for a mid round pick. Trading him for a pick is way more preferable than taking on a LTIR contract for a few years. That seems way more plausible than "it was last minute or teams didn't want to help" lol.

If the Sabres do trade for PLD this would probably be the cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmyjets</b></div><div>A lot closer to what the cost would be but I'd still rather keep PLD. Eichel demanded a trade which would have brought the market down some where PLD has not.
Also you'd need to beat out Montreal who I'm sure would push their way to the front of the pack for a French-Canadian 1C that is big, rugged and handsome. He's their absolute wet dream. I would expect 1st overall would be on the table for PLD and I'd rather have that than 3 good pieces.</div></div>
Eichel was already signed though. PLD is not. He can technically walk in 2 years. He'd have to agree to a long term deal with any team that trades for him. That limits his market quite a bit.

Still way too much. PLD's contract situation would limit his value. It would probably look like when we traded for ROR.

He was getting about 7 minutes a game. Similar situation with Aatu Raty when he was on Karpat. Hard to produce when you don't get any ice time.
Wasn't even a huge reach either. Pretty much everyone had him ranked in the teens / early 20s. McKenzie had him at 18.
