A 2nd for Emberson
People are overlooking that Rangers got a legit prospect back here. One with a long history with Miller.
It’s a savvy move
(And that’s coming from a Devils fan)</div></div>
The guy was -25 in the AHL last season. You overvalue him by a lot.

Arizona Coyotes signed Darcy Kuemper (2 Years / $4,500,000 AAV)
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hard to be unhappy with this deal. If Kuemper has a tough season, it's only two years - and if he plays well again, hard to see him signing something this cost-effective (and short term) rather than going to free agency at the end of the year. <a href="https://t.co/ilwZqaUbzN">https://t.co/ilwZqaUbzN</a></p>— Catherine Silverman (@catmsilverman) <a href="https://twitter.com/catmsilverman/status/1179438380205010944?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 2, 2019</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">To add re: Kuemper: even if Antti Raanta has a stellar year as well, let's say you decide to keep him and give him two years, $5M AAV. If you think that a team tying up <$10M in starting-caliber goaltenders is a poor move, you're living in a fantasy world.</p>— Catherine Silverman (@catmsilverman) <a href="https://twitter.com/catmsilverman/status/1179440180517691393?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 2, 2019</a></blockquote>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
personally, I think it's fine. it's a bit hypocritical of fans to expect goaltenders to accept lower money than skaters when goaltending is a very key part of how well teams do. sure, goaltending can be incredibly variable, but the Coyotes also employ a pretty good set of goaltending coaches, so, clearly, they like what they see from Kuemper. there's obviously some risk involved, but I don't really think any of their available prospects are really ready to make the jump in the near future, and the Coyotes look like they want to contend now, so retaining Kuemper for a couple of years past this one is a smart move, rather than letting him go to FA.

St. Louis Blues signed Joel Edmundson (1 Year / $3,100,000 AAV)
Edmundson to me is a guy who's biggest accomplishment is basically playing. He doesn't seem to do a whole lot of useful stuff the minutes on the ice, not even when isolating for zone usage and quality of teammates and opposition. There are plenty of players that play tough minutes and do relatively well in them - Edmundson isn't one of those guys. I wouldn't pay much more than league minimum for him, and this contract seems to be awarded based on his previous salary more than any tangible improvement in his play, cause he had a tough year and a worse playoffs.

Arizona Coyotes signed Victor Söderström (3 Years / $1,523,333 AAV)
How does this affect the marner negotiations? Well, soderstom has no nhl points and he got 925000, so marner should get infinity.

I stand by the "No" vote. Tampa has a Foote fetish problem, and it's time they be called out for it.

I'm also wondering if this trade implies that the Pens could be going after someone in free agency?

Huge W for the Pens. Kahun almost hit 40 pts on his rookie season.

I'm honestly surprised he is back this season. He should be a top defender in Laval/7th guy in Montreal this year and he still has room to grow. Let's hope he can bounce back from that major shoulder injury
