Nino is exactly the type of forward TOR needs: good size, plays with some nasty to his game and can throw the body (although he's seem to throw less hits the last few years) when need be. Put him with some skilled playmakers and let the kid fire shots.

As far as picks, Id say Kapanen would be a 2nd plus a 3rd.
Johnsson im not to sure about. I feel toronto would move him for a 3rd and 5th or something like that to make cap space.
Im not a TOR fan so it might not be super accurate, but thats what id pay

The Nino trade is laughable.
Bean for Lilly is probably a no go as TOR fans always value Lilly highly even though he can't crack the line-up over the infamous Ceci..
Also we have no need for Lilly when we have Keane.

His numbers are pretty good considering he is 21 and played on a really terrible team. He is on the 2nd PP and PK unit, seemed like Kruger gave him more sheltered minutes which was good. He makes extremely smart decisions with and without the puck. TBH I don't know if I ever saw him make a mistake that led to a goal against us which is a first for Sabres D.</div></div>
He did but not many. He had a few real doozies but was by far our most consistent dman in our end.

Yep, as a Buf fan, I could get behind something like this with a mid round pick I think. Couple middle sixers that are starting to bud that could become top line guys. Good job OP

Not a bad trade for NSH - but I don't see them making it if they are still in the playoff race - Bonino has been too important to them this year. And to a lesser extent, losing Hamhuis would hurt them too right now. But if they are on the outside looking in come trade deadline, I could see a deal like this happening. But I'm not sure you get Poile to retain so much salary - he doesn't like doing that.

i could see the leafs doing this trade, gives them a dman for playoffs and a prospect to build on for a few years. and giving up a top 9 forward and a top 6 forward who is cost controlled for a few years.

Columbus Trade Seth Jones for the win
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>All depends on the team I'm building style of play, Alex Pietrangelo is up there, Parayko is up there, Ellis is up there, Josi is up there - yes Jones has wonderful contract so does Rielly would you trade Marner + for Rielly? Nope you wouldn't.
If CBJ is entertaining a rebuild which even if they are I would think Jones would be part of it but let's say he's not a 1st rnd a A+prospect and a young forward with top 6 potential would probably get the deal done</div></div>
Pietrangelo is fantastic, i agree as well, Jones is 25 so if people want him they will have to grossly overpay because at the age of 25, that is a perfect keep for a rebuild, its not like he is 30

Columbus Trade Seth Jones for the win
"Its worth the price! Adding the key piece to put us into true contention for years to come and paying extra for some cap relief! Thoughts?"
If you truly believe he is difference maker for the next two and half years, yeah the Leafs or any team would want Jones. You know in his seven years in the NHL, he has won one playoff round. So is he truly that "key piece" you write about. Columbus doesn't do that deal. It really just Kapanen and 1st...nothing more for Columbus.

EXTEND DERMOTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I like your thought on extending Dermot long term. But to do that you're looking at more like 4.8m not 2.8m. What's this nonsense about burying Holl. Leafs need him this year. For sure he would be picked up on waivers .</div></div>
well i went off of what comparable dman got in earlier years, ryan ellis was at .31 ppg when he signed and it was over 200 games dermott only will have 170 if hes healthy and .28 ppg if he stays at the same pace, ellis got 3.62% of the cap when he signed which works out to about 2.95 mill but with a lower ppg and less of a span to see if that averages out higher or lower i bumped it down, if you were going to do a oscar klefbom type deal at around 4.6 mill which is 5.75% of the cap it would be more like 7 years.

What I don’t understand is when someone gives Boeser a 7 year deal worth 8.5 million AAV, no one complains. But when someone gives Marner 10 million AAV for the same term, everyone starts crying and calling it an overpay. Why is that? Cuz I think Marner is far better than Boeser.

People Overrate this team to much
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FedererSmooth</b></div><div>This team is going to be phenomenal if babcock plays the style the players have been assembled to play. The way the marlies play under sheldon keefe from the vision he and dubas have of the modern game is the ticket to the gun show ;) the patient puck controlled exits and entries of the baby buds are a treat to watch. i may be living in a dream world thinking babs will change but here's hoping!! GO LEAFS GO!</div></div>
You know, I also think it's going to be really interesting to see how babcock approaches this season. There has been alot of turn over from last years roster, and it just so happens that babcock lost some of his favorite toys as a result.
I think Babs adapts. But if he can't then I think Keefe is waiting in the wings next year. If Dubas has shown anything in the last year its that he's doubling down on his vision for the leafs and he's not afraid to make changes. i.e. out from last year...
Hainsey
Z
Brown
Marleau
Kadri
Ennis
Oz
Lindholm
Sparks
In all likelihood, Gards...
That's some pretty substantial roster turnover and change. 10 players out of a 23 man roster gone...
