<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Well hello! The situation...as I see it...would mean Dubas would have to come calling. I don't envision Stan wanting to trade him away. He just turned 20, The #8 OA, and will VERY likely take over the #1 PP role for the Hawks this upcoming year. I am a Hawks fan, but I've always said Keith isn't a great PP QB. He's ok, but not great. Keith is a 5V5 player. Anyway, back to the trade. Since IMO Dubas is calling, you're going to have to trade that projected value because that's what he means to CHI. That's honestly what we (and most importantly Stan) feel about the kid. Top pair, PP QB, that's cost controlled for 5 more years.
Sandin is an excellent piece coming back. I don't want to dismiss that. BUT if the Hawks really wanted Sandin....guess what...they would have drafted him. Not with the #8, but with 27th pick. Just 2 slots ahead of where TOR drafted Sandin. Again, that doesn't mean he's bad. FAR from it. It just means CHI probably still really believes in the LD they got...Beaudin. Now, acquiring Sandin would put Beaudin further down the food chain...OR Sandin would be staying in Rockford vs getting to the NHL. This is why I don't think the trade will happen...Boqvist means too much to us and fits our system AND Sandin doesn't exactly help our overall development plan for prospects, but since you asked...This might indeed be the value of the trade I guess. the 2020 1st is really good and Sandin is good too. If I were Stan, I'd be asking for A LOT more, but settling for something close to this, maybe Woll too because Hawks need goalies prospects. IDK, I just don't think it's realistic.</div></div>
Awesome, appreciate the in depth response good sir. I can see it being very hard to pry boqi away so I feel ya here. Those right side guys are just so valuable. Best of luck in the offseason for your Hawks!

Goooooood mornin' Exo. I believe the leafs would trade Sandin for Boqi in a heartbeat. What in your opinion would be the package that would facilitate a Sandin for Boqi swap?

Why are we giving up so much for someone when there are guys in free agency who are way better and who will have a lower cap hit. Demelo, Brodie, even Gudas are all guys I would take over Manson. So please stop. The leafs don't want him. If they did they would have had him by now, trust me.
Also for the last time the Yotes have absolutely 0 need for Andersen. Stop trading him there</div></div>
So take Manson specifically out of it and plug in who you'd like to see. Just using him as a figurehead to demonstrate the kind of roster that could be had.
What in your opinion would need to be added to swing this deal for Darcy?
This is the best roster I've seen going into next year. Do you think its a cup contender?
thanks!

man would it be nice to add Ekblad! Sadly I doubt we have the right pieces to pull it off. Thinking to even consider it they would come back with Nylander as a starting point.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>I like bean but I just dont see the leafs moving Liligren for him as Dubas would probs want a RHD prospect coming in
now if bean was a RHD prospect and this was proposed leafs would probs accept.
As for the Kapenan trade its a pass for the following reason
in terms of Kaps value a recent post looked into his numbers and it was surprising.
Kaspari Kapanen - Even Strength Points Per 82-Games:
2018-19 (22 years old) = 44 Even Strength Points
2019-20 (23 years old) = 36 Even Strength Points (69 games) full season projected 42-45 points
- That's in roughly 13 even-strength minutes per game (with lots of PK time and no PP time).
- It also projects to 60+ total points if he's given a full time spot on a teams power-play unit.
- He's very solid defensively and is much more valuable than people here want to admit.
- And his contract adds even more value ($3,200,000 x 3 years with an RFA expiry at 25).
Compare that to someone like Zucker (Return = 1st + 2nd + Galchenyuk).
2018-19 (27 years old) = 28 Even Strength Points
2019-20 (28 years old) = 40 Even Strength Points
- He's 5 years older and in his late prime.
- His cap-hit is $2,300,000 higher with similar term.
- He was getting more ES ice-time than Kapanen.
I could prove the exact same point with a bunch of older guys like:
- Gabriel Pageau (Return = 1st + 2nd + 3rd)
- Blake Coleman (Return = 1st + 1st)
But Kapanen's ES production is more in line with guys like:
- Barzal
- Keller
- Monahan
- DeBrincat
- Seguin
The only major difference is that they get PP ice-time.
(note not my words but from someone else)</div></div>
What an awesome post! I feel enlightened. :)
I really thought bean was right handed when I threw this together, my bad, scratch that idea.
Thanks so much for sharing this info on kappy. Really paints a great picture of his value. Probably best to take advantage of this and send him to a team he can thrive on. Would you go that route or keep him?

His numbers are pretty good considering he is 21 and played on a really terrible team. He is on the 2nd PP and PK unit, seemed like Kruger gave him more sheltered minutes which was good. He makes extremely smart decisions with and without the puck. TBH I don't know if I ever saw him make a mistake that led to a goal against us which is a first for Sabres D.</div></div>
Ahhh i see, solid start to a career. thanks for the insight. Would you consider this deal if a second rounder was included or perhaps Bracco instead of kral?

Predicting Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rockybaker</b></div><div>Why is everyone so ready to get rid of Kapanen? His cap hit is below average, he's 23, he's predictably gonna get 20 goals 45 pts for the forseeable futur and has ridiculous speed which he utilises on BOTH special teams. In my eyes, just him for Fabbro is a downgrade....the rest is complete waste. He's a good value player and the key to winning team is to sign "difference makers" when you can and fill the rest with GOOD VALUE.
If you want to get rid of a middling caphit to find space, get rid of Johnsson. He's obviously replacable, doesn't play the PK, puts up similar numbers to Kappy but does it while playing with Matthews while Kapanen does it from the third line (whoever that is on that night) Basically, the numbers are similar but Kappy is better in EVERY way, he is younger and makes less money.
It's a no brainer.</div></div>
I too would say Johnsson is the piece to move if the right player becomes available. Kappy brings a roster unique skill to the table with his game breaking speed. Wonder how different their value is to opposing GMs?
