I don't know but I'd rather trade Shaw than Armia or Lehkonen because of his contract and his history of injury. What do you think? I'm not talking about value 1 vs. 1 for Gustafsson, but just for what is better for the Habs.

I know it was at the trade deadline but Vegas paid a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd for Tatar. He just got his best season with 58 points! Why would you trade him for a 2nd and a 4th??? Luckily Marc Bergevin is the GM and not you!

I don't know if you are serious or not? Do you really think Leafs will trade Marner for this type of prospects. They would rather get 4 1st pick in compensation than that.

Maybe. Shaw just have his best season with 47 points in 63 games. Also, Gostisbehere is not the best in defensive aspects

Dorion laugh at Bergevin face! Did it work on NHL 19 LOL?
A bit too much for Ghost no? I mean a 1st pick is too much!
The contract (salary and duration) seems ok. Nyquist will probably want longer and a bit more money regarding Hayes contract.

Carolina trade

Quoting: Poehling

Yes, it's a risk, but Lehkonen is better than Duclair defensively, forecheck, hockey sense, leadership. We sign Brendan Gallagher 6 years 3.75M after one season at 22 goals. That was a risk, now he's a 30 goals scorer getting paid 3.75M. I expect Lehkonen to be a 20 goals 45 points scorer. This is a breakout year for him. If we sign him for a bridge and explose this season, he will get 4M after is bridge. I think thats why he didnt sign yet. Marc Bergevin isnt sure if he sign him a bridge or long term contract. He's a favorite from the coatch. Can play on every lines, play on the PP, PK, Overtime, when he's on the ice, the other team dont score.

True, if I remember well Bergevin sign Subban with a bridge and 2 years after that Subban value went up and Bergevin sign him for a 9M$ contract. That said, it is true that it would be smarter to sign him more money now because we will benefit in 2 or 3 years.

Anthony Duclair have the same stats approximately and sign only for 1 year at 1,6M$. Why would MTL sign Lehkonen for 6 years at 3,2M$? It's a long contract and a risk for MTL no?

Nyquist and Gardiner aren't going to sign for this amount if we consider the contract given to Kevin Hayes.

Question for habs fan by an Habs fan

True! I truly hope that we are gonna be in the bottom of the league next year like 2017-2018! Hard for the ego, but look at what the Maples Leafs had with this thought --> Matthews, Marner

Why would we consider an offer at a 1st center when we have a lot of young player at this position (Kotkaniemi, Poehling, Suzuki), a prolific 2-way center with Danault and Domi who had a wonderful season?

Maybe they are still interested in Ristolainen because of his contract. They probably think Sergachev is going to ask more than the cost per year of Ristolainen? I heard rumors regarding a trade Sergachev-Ristolainen!

He only have one year left to his contract and there is room behind our cap to keep him, so yes that could be an option! Although, that would mean to trade some 3rd-4th line players to make some place.

Analyst of Habs cap space
In terms of cap space, a trade like last year (Steve Mason's trade) should be considered. I'm sure we can agree that next year should be a year of development for our young team and no major contract (Panarin, Duchesne, etc.) should be signed by the Habs.
The first team I thought of for this type of trade would be Vegas with Clarkson's contract. What do you think? What could we receive in this type of trade?
