Another Sens Team
I have seen so many scenarios of giving Joseph away, the guy is a decent player and works his ass off, unfortunately he was snake bit last year and had to play through 2 injuries.
Remember when he first arrived in Ottawa? 12 pts in 11 games , good on the pk and can play up and down the lineup. I am going to predict he has a bounce back year whether it’s in Ottawa or not.

I think Detroit would jump at that deal. I agree with Minnachu , 4 mill for Brown is a stretch , would like to see him back but if not Fast is a good alternative. Philly gets a good haul as well, not sure Zadina is their preferred target but overall not bad.

Craig Conroy Time
If Brassard recovers from his broken leg well enough to play it will be back in Ottawa. Likely time for him to hang em up , he’s had a nice career. Ruzicka should be getting full time minutes anyways.
You can get a 3rd for Vladar.

What is a good hockey trade for Debrincat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I would do Necas 1 for 1 . Then sign a 3rd liner for 1 year. And trade for or sign a goalie</div></div>
Didn’t you tell me a few weeks back that Necas was ‘untouchable’? Lol
Buch or Konecny. Burakovsky not enough coming back, that would turn into a multi player deal.

11 and 7
I like 11 , 7 but more in the last ‘q’ of the season. I am onboard with most of what you described except for DeBrincat, I really don’t think he wants to be in Ottawa long term. Move him and get middle 6 help and a couple of picks , prospects. They need the ownership decision soon otherwise their hands may be tied trying to move him before the draft.
What screwed the Senators last year was Norris getting hurt and ADB not playing with a solid #2 center , CSICK has been stating this for a while. Too many posters are worried about recouping value from last years trade, move on.

I like this offer but agree the 1st needs to be 2024 vs 25. Holtz needs top 6 reps to prove himself.

Hellebuyck to OTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Merilainen looks like a future starter and was the best goalie in Finland. Ostapchuk is going to be a great middle 6 power forward and the 1st will be top 20. I don’t know if you’ll get more quality than that for a soon to be 30 year old that needs a longterm contract</div></div>
Unless you can tell me for how long and how much Hellebuyck extends for it is not worth giving up all these assets to make the playoffs 1x and then he opts for free agency. If Hellebuyck is looking for 8 years 8-9 million , pass. He is a top goalie just not a good fit right for Ottawa right now IMO.

Draft Day Trade for RFAs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bulldog92</b></div><div>Sure, Adams is looking to move Olofsson but I don't believe that he needs to attach picks, especially first rounders, to find him a new home.
Not certain that Brannstrom is the answer to who needs to be paired with Power.
A better trade might just be Olofsson and Comrie (OTT doesn't have a goalie signed for 2023) for Debrincat. OTT has to fill 12 roster spots with only $17M so they are going to have to get creative.</div></div>
I should have added , I don’t think Comrie is the type of goalie they want to platoon with Forsberg.

Ottawa has Forsberg and Soggard signed to play nets. Think you forgot to take into consideration that Norris cap hit is taken into account in Capfriendly but he is not included as a roster/‘d player. They also have 7 RFA’s who should sign relatively cheap , lets say max 8.5 total. They also have Grieg , Javentie, Thomson, Kleven making under a million and on the non roster list. They have room , not a lot but they can make it work.

Ottawa gets a goalie
Interesting take , in theory I like it. I have never been a big Kuemper fan but he is consistent and puts up decent numbers. My only concern is Kuemper has 4 years left on his contract , ideally Ottawa lands a goalie to tandem with Forsberg for the next 1-2 years giving Sogaard and the other Belleville tenders some time to mature.

Idea
Brannstrom is not the type of player Ottawa thought they were getting when they acquired him. He was seen as an offensive d man capable of QB’ing a p.p. He ( or the team ) finally came to the conclusion that he needs to play a simple stay at home style of play. Make a first pass vs. skating it out of the D zone. He is a bottom pair guy but can move up in the order if needed. He plays both sides, i actually think he plays better on the right side but coach Smith disagrees. He is a decent shot blocker but can get knocked off the puck by larger players. Face facts if you get a 6’3” forward screening your goalie there is not much he is going to be able to do. He has accepted playing how he needs to to contribute to the team. Have to admit it he has grown on me , I would not do this deal.

Decent for Ottawa not so good for Calgary in the sense that they are already strapped for cap space and have several players to re-up after the upcoming season.

Dorion’s job is on the line , can’t see him selling new management on a plan that sees him starting the season with a goalie coming off of double knee injuries and a 24 year old with 2 games in the league. In your scenario they might as well let Sogaard take the back up slot.
