Why not he is a fast PPG scoring winger, isn’t that exactly what EDM needs? I think he would be the perfect player to play with McDavid.

I feel like Vesalainen can be very effective for the pens in the future, and that move is more about an identity change to get bigger and more physical for playoff hockey.

If Hyman doesn't make it to free agency then I would want the pens to try to trade for someone like J. Greenway, L. Crouse, J. Anderson, C. Kreider, J. Puljujarvi, E. Kane, or B. Lemieux.

its an overpayment because of who else is acquirable (Eichel's expected value is 2 firsts and 2 prospects), and McDavid is untradeable because of the money he gives the oilers just for playing with them.

with Eichel on the block worth much less, I wouldn't propose this deal from the rangers side and Edmonton just won't trade McDavid because of the revenue he brings in.

Is Strome a bad fit? From what I've seen, Strome is a fast playmaker that would do well, in my opinion, on the fastest team in the league. Also, I would play him at RW on the second line with Kadri, not have him compete for the center position.

My belief is that this team has a 2-3 year playoff window before needing to pay the young guys still on ELCs. Then, they will have some cap casualties and may have to take another step back out of contention. I am trying to lengthen their rebuild by a year or 2 now before they have to lose a lot of good players, and maybe rebuild again due to cap limitations and having a bad team because of those limitations.

I'm not sure about this, I may be wrong but I thought Johnson was willing to waive his NTC in the prior offseason. My thoughts on Parise is that maybe he wants the opportunity to play top 6 minutes again and revitalize his career so he waives his NTC.

I feel like I need to explain my view on the strome trade. He is a point per game this year, and a fast player that would fit right in on the avs. If savard and foligno can get firsts and Mantha get his return, then strome can get the value of 2 firsts in my opinion.
