SAROS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div>Remove Ostlund or Rosen. Saros is a great goalie, but usually goalies don't get that package, not even close, plus he only has two years left. A top 15 pick + a good first round prospect is already a good base. Maybe some B prospect or 2nd instead of Rosen or Ostlund. Also, I'm sure not everyone understands and knows who Rosen and Ostlund are, how they play/develop and what are their strengths, so some may think that this is not enough.</div></div>
I'd say make it Ostlund and Philly's 2nd round pick. The new package looks like UPL, Olofosson, Ostlund, BUF 2023 1st, and PHI 2023 2nd for Saros. NSH likely does that. Trotz is on record saying he would move Saros if it meant he could land a true 1C, so that is likely the higher incentive.

It's just a thought with all the D they have. Was picking a team and Dealing strength for strength.

Because they would have just taken Savoie if they wanted him. Granted thats a pretty solid return. But still nah

Doesn't cost the equivalent of 3 top 18 picks. Casey and Henri for our first alone at 11 would be ripe.

Fishing for a Finn and a Forbort
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div>I would add pick to bring Borgen back. We need a legit top 4 D right now and Fleury could be a wild card and unlikely to see much ice-time.</div></div>
Fair enough. The issue with trading Borgen is that he has established himself as an integral part of Seattle's defensive corps, so any realistic trade return won't replace what he brings to the team on the ice. For that reason he is more valuable to the Kraken as a player than a trade chip, which is why I think don't think Borgen is going anywhere.

Next Steps - Bridging the Gap
No interest in Girard, and I think thats overpaying for Vejmelka, although i like the idea. As far as the other d mentioned, borgen yes, the others all no. Defensive d are needed. We don't need a ppqb, we have two first overall picks for that, and a coach that runs a 4 forward pp. Our own end is a circus, and teams look quite comfortable in the corners and in front.

I think the Canucks would likely look for a package like Krebs + 2023 first for Demko

Cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div>Disagree, Krebs is a good young player and I would love to keep him, but he can also get stuck in our depth because we already have too many prospects. Krebs has definitely shown progress last season, he has become more physical, he has a perpetual motion engine, he is arguably the best playmaker on our team. He may very well be our 3C next season, but if there is a right deal I would be willing to trade him, but I don't want to trade him just like that. While I'm not saying Mittelstadt isn't available, for the right deal it could very well be. Although I like Krebs little more.</div></div>
I will take you word for it since I only watched one Sabres game this year. I’ll have to keep an eye out for him in the future 👍

Goalies are bananas, upl has been around for several years, never seems to consistently be good, mostly just inconsistent. Could he be a good goalie on a different team- yep. Is it worth looking for a stable vet to pair with Levi and get something useful for the organization- yep.</div></div>
Fleury would be at best our 7th defensemen

Not sure why you are signing bertuzzi. Or Cole tbh
The bertuzzi signing locks out peterka, kulich, mittelstadt, Krebs, savoie from the top 6 and blocks 2 of them from the top 9 and blocks atleast one of mittelstadt and Krebs from being resigned.
Also he probably doesn't sign that, nor does he fit the vibes

He is an rfa with arb rights. They have several of those and not a ton of space. This is good value

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div>I think you missed the shortened season of Covid, there were no games 82 and he did not miss. So he missed one month with a facial injury in his first season in the NHL four years ago, then two consecutive seasons without any long-term injury, and missed 18 games this season. This is definitely not a traumatic player who is out for a long time.</div></div>
2019-20 and 2020-21 were both shortened seasons
