No need to buy Mojo or Gaudreau out. Just waive em to Iowa.
Gaudreau especially, it's no difference in the cap hit beyond the first year, but it's twice as long with a buyout.

Wild Fans Get in Here
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>I agree that Boldy is worth more than Guhle atm, but not to the extent you're suggesting and that's being suggested in this trade. If Kent Hughes was hell bent on getting Boldy and had to overpay, then this deal is fine.
Let's not undersell Guhle here, he's still very much <strong>projecting</strong> to be a top pairing defensemen, and is trending to achieve that projection. The scouting report on this very website suggests it, multiple scouting reports and articles from other websites (the Athletic recently wrote about Guhle, etc.) suggest the same. All agree he won't be a superstar, but a steady reliable two-way top pairing guy.
Best comparable I can think of that Guhle is <strong>projecting</strong> to become, is Jacob Slavin. Not a superstar, doesn't play the PP, but plays the most even strength and PK minutes and can put roughly between 30-40pts a season. Definitely a top pairing guy.</div></div>
I agree with you 100% that Guhle is <strong>projecting</strong> to be a top-pair LhD. <strong>100%</strong>. My point is that a projection plus a last-quarter first don't come close to a youngster drafted 12th overall who has already proven that he's an All-Star.

Why is a bottom-10 MN team trading away a cheaper D-man with term for a rental? And adding a high 2nd on top of it?
Edit - i'm sorry, realized this is for UFA signing rights, so it's even worse.

Ultimate tank tandem
These are decent deals, but I think the oil needs to sweeten that pot as those two rostered players are dead weight in Philly. Maybe just a 2nd two years from now or something… also hate to see Allison go.
Tony could make an impact on a team but I think he will be a deadline deal and we get a 3rd at most.
I’m not 100% but seems like Hayes will be a jacket by the end of the year… people under rate him due to his contract. Good player, just needs to be better defensively

Really? A late first and a prospect signed in the Swedish league next year for 3 years of a center who had more points than ERod last season at half price? And a 4th? Not being sarcastic I just see it as a bet that the Avs would make.

Buffalo will or course pay a 1st and 3rd for him, ceci and Campbell instead of signing him as a ufa in this hilarious scenario

Not a fan of either team but random trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FloppyBiscuit</b></div><div>Makes sense. I like Fabbri's game, but dude seems like he's perennially injured. I like Mazur too, he was great for the Pioneers, but I feel like they should let him adjust with a full year in Grand Rapids, with a callup maybe happening depending on playoff positioning. And that was my one question mark as someone who doesn't follow Detroit too closely -- if Berggren is ready for a bigger role.
Also, I will say, it may seem like Detroit overpaid for Copp a little bit, but defensively sound middle six forwards still provide a lot for a team. Minnesota fans (me included) love Eriksson Ek for this.
Your comments have made me curious how Yzerman will approach the offseason; a few good UFA pickups could probably make the Wings a playoff caliber team, but it may be better to wait another year so prospects can develop before spending big.</div></div>
Mazur will for sure start in Grand Rapids, but college players seem to adapt quickly at the AHL level, so I would not be surprised to see a mid season call up.
Copp was a slight overpay by design. When Kasper is ready for 2C in 2 years, Copp gets to go back to doing what he does best as a top 9 plug. He never looks out of place with more talented players, and he elevates less talented players. In 2-3 years, the going rate will be around what Copp makes for that type of player. Yzerman bought up all of Copp's prime years.
The problem this offseason is the UFA market is weak. The most reasonable add is Severson at rd but the term and salary is not good long term. There are no good scoring wingers. It will be interesting what Yzerman does this offseason. He has a lot to work with, and he has patience so it can go a lot of ways.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FloppyBiscuit</b></div><div>Sure, him being a bridge is kind of the point while prospects develop. What is Detroit really losing in value in the trade? A soon to be UFA winger and an overpaid bottom pairing defenseman?
I do understand other commenters point about Chiarot providing some needed physicality, though. That is an important part of the game.</div></div>
Kubalik can (and probably will) be dealt at/near the TDL. Even if it's for a 3rd, it's still better than Granlund.

I think the Islanders would give a second for Addison if they are going to lose Mayfield. Second unit power play clearly needs help right now, and they could use another puck carrier on the back end.

Then why reset the clock and wait another 5 years to get another Simon Benoit when we already have a Simon Benoit. He's our budget Arber Xhekaj. He's a young, physical guy who stands up for our star players and is doing a rather admirable job of cleaning up after Klingberg this season.

What does he cost
Barabonov is playing at about $5.5m value according to The Athletic. Like all those values, let's lessen it to about the value of -1M, so he's in the $4-4.5m range. You'll get him for a bargain price if we choose to retain him. I'd be shocked if we traded him this year and didn't hold onto him for next season when he's playing for a contract.
To answer your trade, i think it's fair as I think Barabonov is worth a 2nd. The additional picks are interesting...We're not big fans of Shaw for delivering a concussion to Nico Sturm earlier this year and also hunting down some of our other players. Totally cool with adding more Defensive prospects with Warren.

No interest in the players coming back and not nearly enough value.
Should be a 1st and a 2nd. 55+ point pace at a 1.25 cap hit for another year on his contract. He should be getting much more than Goodrow or Coleman, return comparable to Hagel.

No, San Jose isn’t moving their best player just to get rid of Vlasic. If he’s moved by himself he’s getting a 1st and a top prospect to start. Vlasic can be bought out.
