Minnesota then retains half on Johnsson for another 1st round pick.
I don’t hate the trade. There is certainly some risk reward in it.

Sure, but to make it realistic that the defeated players actually WANT to perform, I chose UFAs only

Low for DeBrincat, but not the worst I've seen. I still think Raty falling like that in the draft is a red flag and would like to see him perform in the nhl before making a move for him.

No thanks on Leddy back at $3.2M. Kulak is probably a slight overpay but I'd rather roll with him at LD2, keep Robin Salo ~$950k as LD3, and fill out a full 23 man roster so I don't have to rely on on that 4th line to play every night when they're healthy.

Alternative to re-signing Paul - Puljujarvi
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Florida_Man_Maroon</b></div><div>Is it possible we just put Paul at wing and allow Stammer to stay in the middle? I’d rather have Paul and our first round pick than Puljujarvi and Koekkoek.</div></div>
Yes and by the way, Nick Paul played most of his time on LW in Ottawa. We always thought he was better there
Sign him and play him LW
Keep your 1st round pick to acquire (steal) Connor Brown at the deadline. He'd look fantastic on a team like Tampa.
A Paul - Cirelli - Brown line would kick some serious ass

Holy overpay!
I based my offer of what I've seen on here so far, but I agree most have been coming in low. Hagel plus Colton and a 2nd is ridiculous though.
I'd do 2022 1st, 2023 3rd, and prospect of choice. Otherwise I'd just keep Paul.

I don't know if I like Paul on the wing. Sure he can play it, but he seems most effective down the middle.
If we want to keep Stamkos-Kucherov together, I think Point needs another winger capable of playing with a talented center.
Personally, I like this better than with Paul.
Koekkoek is only here because I don't like our D prospects ability to make the leap next year and I'm no more a fan of any potential low cost FA's. He could also give us the ability to move Sergy up with Hedman for an extended period.

Definitely one of the left D because POJ will be in the lineup next season. Probably Pettersson, but Dumo also could get traded. I would at least try and trade Zucker, but might be tough. McGinn I would trade as well. I would consider trading Marino if Letang re-signs, but would be risky if he dosen't. I would consider trading anyone for the right deal, I don't think anyone is untouchable besides Crosby and Guentzel.

I agree, the other person I see getting top six minutes is Hagel. He played with Kane this year some and his production was high when that was the case.

JBB hasn't had anyone age out on him yet. He moved Johnson last season. Time to transition to the new core.

Retooling in the off-season
I’d find it much more enjoyable to watch Tampa if sergachev wasn’t on their team. Honestly one of the most frustrating hockey players to watch. It feels like at some points he’s unreal, and the next he makes a stupid play and turns the puck over.

Surprised he signed after only 1 year in college but he was apparently really unhappy with Minnesota and was considering entering the transfer portal.
He's eligible for the CHL next year but could also just go to the Moose.

Next seasons roster
This line up is quite sub optimal. Tampa won’t be running 23 for starters, it will be 22 or 21 if necessary to make the roster work. Paul is likely to return in the ~2.5 range, and likely two of Fortier, ABB, Ryfors or Koepke get the last 2 spots. They will try to re-sign Rutta as well, but if not they can trade for someone like Soucy/Mayfield with retention, sign somebody cheaper like Pysyk, or promote Perbix perhaps. None of Raddysh, Felhaber or Hudon are on the team to begin the year, and Nash is at best 50/50. Paul should, and likely will, be one of the first contracts to be extended. Palat is of course gone, and whether Rutta stays is 50/50 depending on how much he is asking. This off season isn’t a problem at all, next off season is a bit tricky.
