Bro has all the swag in the world. I like his on ice skill set as well. His defense is a concern but not something that should be detrimental.

After trading McDonagh we should be fine for this season and we don’t want to deal with the penalty that comes next season. There may be a team out there that could use the cap relief for this season and they’d be willing to pay a small price for it.

I don’t think anyone really has intrest in the player, but his cap bonus could be appealing to a cap strapped team.

Do you think bolts could get some kind of asset for him in a trade? Maybe to a team like Toronto Calgary or Minnesota?

Myers plays - no buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoopsTroops</b></div><div>Yeah, I am quite confused by JBB saying they like his tools.
There's no reason to deny a buyout if they're planning on it anyway.
Maybe they think they can trade Myer's contract to another team looking for ~$600k cap space and get an asset back but IDK.</div></div>
Interesting thought. Makes sense tho considering Tampa should have no interest in keeping him

Sergachev expires as an RFA which is another benefit over Miller

Minor changes to add speed
Instead of trading for bear have Carolina throw in another draft pick. Then resign for Rutta for slightly cheaper than what you have for Bear. I feel like JBB would prefer to bring back the current players instead of bringing in new and unproven guys.

Let Paul Walk

There's other alternatives that don't involve moving our top young D man. Worst case scenario we trade his RFA rights at the end of the 22-23 season

Let Paul Walk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>Detroit says no. Zadina is at worst a middle 6 winger. At best, a new coach and new system turns him into the scoring two way player we know he can become. Plus, that draft pick could be anywhere from 1st to 20th, most likely around 10 to 15. Thats a lot to give up for a top 4D (but not top pairing regular). Sergachev is great, but the probable top 15 pick is too much to give on top of an unknown reclaim project. That deal could easily backfire for Stevie Y.</div></div>
I feel like Detroit is at the point where they can take a risk like that. They already have such a great prospect pool that they use draft capital to acquire proven assets which will help them get over the hump. Not to mention Sergachev is the best of both worlds: he's young and experienced with almost 400 regular season games under his belt and 2 cups at the age of 24. If you pair Sergachev with Seider, it's game over for the opposition.

Well he expires as an RFA so if they absolutely have to trade him after the 22-23 season they can trade his rights.

Not a fan of trading Sergachev. He showed in the cup final that he can be elite when he's on his game. This blue line really needs his services over the coming years.

I'm interested in the training camp battle that will take place for that final forward roster spot. It's likley between Barre-Boulet, Ryfors, and Koepke (maybe some other sleepers could insert themselves)

I absolutely agree. And I honestly think he will stay. But it's no secret he could make much more on the open market: it really just comes down to Palat's priorities (4.5 million ain't a shabby pay day either)
