Can we contend
No way Skinner doesn't get whatever he wants from Buf. His performance and chemistry with Eichel has been too good. If they're gonna push for a winger might as well slide the breadman a check with about 10 mil AAV. Think they should move Hagg for whatever they can get, sign a dman, and slot Morin in as the 7th

Philly in 19-20
If Frost makes the jump he's probably slotting in at wing and wouldn't be top 6. I'd like to see them push for Hayes to better C depth. I'd rather move Hagg and keep Gudas even though we wouldn't get as much for Hagg. Think he's the weakest link other than AMac. Like the Tanev move to solidify the bottom 6

2019_20 Flyers with room to upgrade still
Like the Ferland idea but agree with others that Duchene will probably re-up with CBJ. Hayes might be a better option and I don't think it will take 3.5AAV to bring Talbot back. His numbers this year will probably bring his price down closer to or under 3. Also would like to see them move Hagg and try to upgrade another d man. If Morin stays the course he's on right now I think he serves best as a 7th dman

That deal isn't nearly enough to get us Bjugstad. We would need to send a lot more enticing pieces back their way.

I hope so because he tore it up this year and that's really exciting. But he still is undersized right now, he needs to pack on weight and strength, and as a flyers fan I've learned to be cautious until they consistently show me it at the highest level.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>Idk y u ppl want Faksa. Their system of C contains the likes of Giroux, Couturier, Laughton, Patrick, Frost, Rubtsov, Laberge, Filppula, and Lehtera, and there are even a few more. If anything, they need to start trading Cs for a better Goaltender or better wingers.</div></div>
G has made the move to wing and isn't going back, Laughton is a 4C or low end 3C at best, Rubstov and Laberge haven't come into their own yet so can technically be seen as question marks at this point, Filp is gone after this season and Lehtera hopefully doesn't see the ice much after this postseason. That leaves you with Coots, Patrick, and Frost. Plus Frost still will have to prove himself at the higher levels. It's very unlikely that Frost, Laberge, and Rubstov all pan out and Laughton is a RFA soon. I don't think that's as deep as you think it is or it seems. Faksa is a defensively sound 3C that would help this team a lot.

Deeper and More Scoring
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>Im sure Faksa can get more than a bad vet goalie and a depth player. IMO he’s still valuable, and I think he just needs a change of scenery to improve. For some reason, a lot of players have a tough time playing in Dallas, with few of their prospects over the last 5-6 years actually working out to their expectations.
It’s either they expect too much, or Dallas is just not the ideal place to play.</div></div>
So what do you think would get that done? Just removing the 4th coming back? Changing the 3rd to a 2nd?

D-F swap
A signing like Hickey makes little sense with the log jam the team is beginning to have on the back end plus he's a lefty which they already have too many of on the blue line. Manning coming back better not even be a possibility with how poor he's played. The trades with CBJ and LAK kind of seem like moves with no gain to me so I'd be interested if you want to elaborate on the thought process there. I personally would rather have Laughton and Strome than Murray or Iafallo. As much as I would love to get rid of AMac I can't see Hextall moving a second just to rid his contract with how much he loves his picks so I think he's more likely to just bury him or he'll be a 7th dman next year. Can definitely get behind the Weise and Neuvirth trades although I'm not sure we'll be lucky enough to get rid of Weise. In my opinion there is no way Neuvy is a Flyer next year and he'll definitely be moved or waived. Not to be rude but I HATE the Sanheim trade. I really see him being a part of this team's future especially now that Hak seems to recognize he needs to be playing. Sprong is good but I definitely think moving Morin is the more realistic and better option if we want to move a young dman this offseason to free up a spot for Myers/Friedman. I actually love the Bjugstad trade as I think he'd be a perfect 3C for this team and would balance out the lineup and help PP2 a ton. I'm all for giving up that package for him and I'd like to see what a FLA fan thinks of it and if they'd be for it.

Lines needed to make/in the playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>Only thing I would change would be to swap Gudas and AMac. That allows Sanheim to be a little more offensive minded with the steady Gudas staying home. It is truly hard to tell who is worse, Manning or Amac.</div></div>
Gudas has looked really bad lately. He seems to fail to clear the puck on at least half of his attempts. It is tough to tell just how much of that is because of his pairing with Manning though. I'm on the unpopular opinion that AMac hasn't been as bad as usual this season. Don't get me wrong he is not good and is making way too much, but in my opinion he's been less of an issue than Manning and Gudas. Plus the he isn't used in the right situations for his skill level and that is part of the problem. Also, the Sanheim and AMac pairing has very good underlying metrics. Definitely a better 3rd pair than 2nd but unfortunately they're the team's best 2nd pair option right now.

Lines needed to make/in the playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NateElder12</b></div><div>Not bad. I still think the best forward lines are with Raffl at center. We could go with this right now:
Giroux-Coots-TK
Lindblom-Patrick-Voracek
Weal-Raffl/Laughton-Simmonds
Filp-Laughton/Raffl-Read
.. also, I agree. Throw Hagg back in for Manning. The PK stuff is irrelevant because it will be bad. The best thing they can do is continue to just not take penalties.</div></div>
Unfortunately there is nothing more than a 0% chance Hak does anything with Filp as drastic as moving him to wing. Hak loves his vets and thinks much too highly of Filp. As far as PK goes, penalties are going to be taken, its inevitable. I'm not saying this will make drastic changes to the numbers but the PK is so bad that something has to be done to try to make it better.

A real top 9
As a Flyers fan that loves Simmonds, we very well may trade him next season or let him walk. His production has already dipped a little and he's had issues with injuries this year. That on top of the fact that he'll be on the wrong side of 30 at the time of his next contract and power forwards typically don't age as well. A 4 year 6.75 AAV deal to Simmer in two offseasons is one you'll probably end up regretting for the last two years of it.

BOSTON, PHILLY AND NEWJERSEY FANS/GMS -What would you give for Gaudreau?
Would love to bring Johnny Hockey in considering he loves Philly sports and has said he wants to play for the Flyers some day. Depends on what you'd think was a fair return though. So what would you be looking for? I'm thinking something like a 1st, 2nd, Morin, and Laberge.

Mrazek is coming off a deal that gave him $4 mil year. I doubt that he views himself in a position to take a pay cut and I'm sure some team on the market would give him at least $4 mil a year. I think it's Philly's best interest to bring him back on a shorter deal. He is the best goalie on their roster even with a healthy Neuvy and Elliott but you don't want to block up the goalie spot for when Hart is finally ready to make the jump. Also don't want to get into cap hell again because of that position.

Dream Offseason for NYR fans
JT isn't coming to the rangers, no team is taking the Smith and Beleskey cap dumps in less they're getting something good in return, and also those deals have a lot of money for both Spooner and Skjei. I think they could get done for a lot less. There are better defenseman than Brady that have recently signed for less AAV.
