Based it off the Staal trade from a couple years ago. Doesn’t have to be CHI

(CGY/FLA) - Tkachuk for Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt
Only a W for the Flames if they extend Huberdeau. Massive W if they can keep both him and Weegar

This is the ONLY 3 way concept that makes sense
Too much for VT91 imo, since STL getting Tkachuk basically requires he gets moved. Imo we should only be trading the 2023 1st for a young player or a star with term/RFA status

Canucks
Someone else said it but turning the 3rd into a 2nd maybe makes it more palatable for the Canucks. I’d love it, but Vancouver is probably better off just holding onto Hoglander. Think we missed our opportunity sadly lol

Tarasenko Again
Honestly if we’re giving even fair market value for Tarasenko, I say don’t do it. Trading him is almost a requirement for the Blues to get Tkachuk. I’m not saying we get him for FCs, but like one of Bellows/Salo/Holmstrom and a 2nd is my starting point for him.
If it doesn’t work out, so be it. Not my ideal target anyways

Robertson for Dobson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evkin</b></div><div>Me neither! It was just a random idea i had, that i think makes sense for both Teams. Dallas has 3 of the best forward prospects in the NHL and they are really close to make the team. If Calgary decides they want to rebuild, the Stars could make the best offer for Tkachuk, but would have to shed some salary to re-sign him. Dobson fills their need for an offensive RHD.</div></div>
Usually whenever I see Dobson getting traded in ACGMs I like immediately write it off lol, he’s like an integral piece of the core now. But yeah, kinda hard to say no right away when it’s Jason Robertson coming back.
Each player would definitely be a fit for their new respective teams I think, but when traded for each other, Dallas is definitely leaving a bit of value on the table imo. Fun idea tho

Lowkey kinda interesting, at least from the Isles POV.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>Dude Monahan is completely washed. He’s had so many injuries he makes Matt Martin look fast.</div></div>
He had four surgeries in one offseason four years ago and followed it up with the best season of his career. Last season he played almost exclusively in Calgary’s bottom-6 with the likes of Lucic, Lewis and Dube. Maybe this recent hip injury is what does him in, but until we know that, I’d be willing to take the gamble and see what he’s still got. If it doesn’t work out, you wash your hands of it and take the $4 mill in cap space. I’d honestly prefer that to dumping Bailey to Arizona for a third round pick or whatever

I don’t have an issue acting like a win-now team. But Tarasenko just isn’t worth that much imo, especially at his age and on the cusp of UFA

I’d argue it isn’t bad cap — Bailey’s $5 million is only a headache because he doesn’t really fit in the lineup anymore with Palmieri and Wahlstrom taking up the top 6 RW spots — but I didn’t know how stacked the UFA class could be next year, so yeah, it might be more worthwhile for the Flames to dip into that

I don’t see how the CGY trade is bad value at all for us. Monahan is no worse than Bailey, with upside and the ability to play C/take faceoffs. His contract is tough, but if Lambert could find the right fit for him in the lineup, you can still be getting a valuable player despite overpaying him for a season. Worst case, we wash our hands of it next summer and shed $4 million in cap in the process.
Was more concerned about the value for the Flames, but seeing the direction they might be headed now, I definitely think this is a no-go anyways

I’d <em>maybe</em> give that up for Tkachuk, but not for one year of an aging Tarasenko. That’s a lot of young/future assets to trade away….

Hawks fans expected the Moon for DeBrincat and got a ball of space ice the size of a car. Kinda think we can expect the same here, especially considering Tkachuk needs a new contract

18-19 and 19-20 were kinda fun years. 20-21 sucked but I really liked what we were building towards coming out of that year. Blew it all to hell by trading the whole future for Jones and since then it’s been one nightmare after another

Kane is only owed 2.9 m on his 10.5 m contract Chicago has ample cap room to retain 50% flip to another team to retain another 50% so Kane lands at 2.625 m cap hit Very easy even for the leaf's. The amount we would have to send to Hawks is painful. This is what we did with Foligno a few seasons ago. I can see a Kane trade to either TML or the Rangers for his off season life .He is sure not happy with all the moves Chicago has made</div></div>
It’s less about the money/availability of Kane and more about his fit on the team. He just seems superfluous

I don’t know if Kane makes much sense for the Leafs tbh. They already have an elite offense and that’s really all Kane is gonna add to them. I think they’re better off spending the assets and cap space on a player or players that better fit what they’re lacking.
