Klefbom for Lehkonen and Poehling and Carolina Trade
Break the parts down in that trade:
Lehkonen > Puli
Montreal 1rst >>> Edmonton 3rd
That means Klefbom must be much, much better than the combination of Poehling, Romanov, and a 4th round pick. Montreal would not even think of trading those 3 assets for for Klefborm alone. So if you look at each of those 3 trades, Edmonton wins each one. Combine the 3 together, and it is a landslide. Not saying Klefborm is worthless by any means, but neither is he a top 2D. Just because he may be the best LD on Montreal, doesn't mean he is worth the package I outlined above.

It is fair IMO or close too fair I guess NYR fans would want a first and a prospect (would be too much for us). You always want the max for your player :)</div></div>
Its true that a contract like that could easily become a burden quickly, especially if the poelhing, suzuki, kk etc of this world become the players they should and ask for big contracts after their entry level ones. After toughts maybe they should keep Kreider and we just have to wait for the huge amount of talent coming soon. I would still do the Tatar trade tho, the only thing about it is that Chariot become a healthy scratch at 3.5M because i prefer Mete and Kulak over him, wich makes me think it already look like to much money for a guy like him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frankyhabs</b></div><div>The problem with Kreider is that he will need an extansion next summer. At this moment, he will be 29 and NO WAY we sign him long term. His style of play doesnt age well (simmonds maybe not the best comparaison but still) and he is way over the age of our core (kk-suzuki-poehling-caufield-domi-mete-romanov-brook). I do like Kreider the player but his age and contract situation are not a great fit with our team. Rather keep lehko.</div></div>
Good point! I still think he has some good hockey years tho is still pretty fast and pretty strong, even if his production drops a litttle he is a valuable player for other things, I would take a chance for a new contract with him but i get why some wouldnt

Gardiner , we dont like Gardiner
furthermore we're tired of hearing him linked to us
MB wont pay a defensive liability with injury problems when we got Mete , Kulak or Chariot
Claude plays a system where if you dont play well your benched whether your Pacioretty , Galchenyuk or Alzner
so bringing Gardiner in makes the exact opposite of sense

Ducks
As a Ducks fan, I see the questions as (1) what is Kase's potential? (2) are we looking for help this season (Mayfield) or in the future (Wilde)? (3) do we want to be patient, at least for the first half of the season, and see which way we are headed and how the youngsters are playing, or do we want to try to improve the team right now?
If you assume that Anaheim wants to contend for the playoffs this year, then this trade makes sense and is good value. No criticism there. But I think there are too many arguments to wait and see for Bob Murray to pull the trigger on this one.
Good imagination and vision.

Ducks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frankyhabs</b></div><div>The Ducks have 0 reason to trade Kase. Like you mention they are in a retool phase so they can be patient. The only reason they would trade Kase his for a young offensive RHD to complete their top 4 with Manson. The Ducks dont want Beauvillier IMO they already have better or same kind of (but younger) player like Terry, Comptois, Lundestrom and Steel. That trade would work for the NYI and would work on xbox (because the value is their) but I would be surprised if a Duck fans would accepted that deal. If there is any Ducks fans that want to give is thought that would be appreciated :). Like I sais IMO they easily declines.</div></div>
I wouldn’t say they easily decline - the front office would probably consider it - it depends on how much they value a RD on a great contract. They just tried to overpay shattenkirk to come to the ducks.

Montreal likely wouldn't go for giving up a 50+ points player for such an average return. Besides Nashville doesn't lack talent, they lack coaching, at least my opinion.

I am a Habs fan and I agree. I would not make this trade. Suzuki is unproven but this is an over payment in my opinion. Laine is a one dimensional player at this time, and I would not offer this much for him.

Definitely has "Chiarelli" written all over a move like that. A bunch of industry people on Twitter were saying yesterday that Chiarelli might get an interview, but it wouldn't be more than that, and that because he's won a Stanley Cup, he deserve at least an interview yada yada yada. I honestly don't think he gets an interview, which ultimately means Greenway and Donato will forever remain a pipedream to Habs fans, at least for that cost :P

Fair enough. I wonder if AA's relationship with the team has improved since his holdout. Not sure how Stevie Y views him either. That was something I left out of my trade description because it's just speculation and a wildcard

What can we expect of KK next year
I think we will see this to start the season :
Tatar - Danault - Gally (shouldnt move at all)
Drouin - Domi - Lehkonen (Julien loves Lehko)
Byron - KK - Armia
xx - xx - xx (Irrelevant)
This would allow Poehling and Suzuki to get 20+ minutes in the AHL (first line). Then, with how youngsters and season are going, we could see something like :
Tatar - Danault - Gally
Domi - KK/Poehling - Drouin/Suzuki
Lehkonen - KK/Poehling - Drouin/Suzuki
Byron - xx - Armia
Somehow, if this happens, i think it would be because we are probably missing playoff so i wouldn't be surprised to see Tatar on the move..
And to answer your question, regarding the scenario, KK should put up 40+ points. 3rd C to start the season and with the flow, maybe 2nd C with PP minutes

My Top Ten
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frankyhabs</b></div><div>Fair enought Sens fans deserves a reason to be excited. Your lucky in a way it is almost sure the Sens get a top 5 pick :). I mean the draft is still in a year so A LOT can happen but the first 10 teams could get an elite player. Do you think Askarov could be a great fit for the Sens (since you dont really need D with Chabot,Branstrom,Thomson). Or maybe more a forward ?</div></div>
I'm not sure if that's something Ottawa would consider in the first round. Definitely not with our own 1st anyway. Depends on who is still available once that San Jose 1st comes around. They could still do with adding another quality RD prospect. If you can get someone who can push JBD to 3rd on the depth chart, that would be huge.
The sens currently have one of the best pool of Goalie prospects in the league, including two very highly touted players in Gustavsson and Sogaard. Also have two other goalies coming off great years in Hogberg and Daccord. Obviously Askarov is leaps and bounds ahead of any of them, but I think there's enough talent in that pool that I think you can bet on one of them being the guy. I think Sogaard in particular is going to be a great goalie.
