So before posting, Jets called up Kevin Stenlund and I don't want to put changes on re-explaining to the situation on what I've already talked about.
BUT if it comes down to it, I would keep Stenlund over Capobianco. Also Stenlund can play 9 games or spend 29 days before he needs to clear Waivers again. I would suggest putting Stenlund back in the AHL after 9 games, just because it helps the Jets with not losing a player to Waivers.
Stenlund definitely has a strong case for the 4th RW/C spot, heading into the Playoffs and into the Future. Just focusing on asset management would be very good at the moment.

Then, sign Dubois @ $8,875,000 x 2 Years
*Or $9,150,000 x 3 Years* (Which would Equal $550,000 more for the first 2 years and still be able to ask for a very high 7 Year Contract. As Dubois will only be 28 years old and 34/35 when the 7th Year Contract is up.)
Trading Dillon, DeMelo or Schmidt could also open up money to pay Dubois 5-8 year Contracts. Because currently we probably could only afford to give Dubois 2-3 year contracts at most.

FIXED UPDATED FUTURE 2023-2024 OUTLOOK
I noticed immidiately after posting that I made the honest mistake of not realizing I was doing the *future projections/ money wise projections* without considering Brendan Dillon in the Lineup. But who knows, maybe everything happens for a reason... Brendan Dillon would be the easiest move to add valueable assets back and free up money to Pay Dubois the big 4-8 year Contracts. Because currently we might only be able to afford to pay Dubois a 2-3 year contract. So trading Brendan Dillon would still give those possible 4-8 year contract *Projections* still value.
It didn't even take me a half hour to figure out the current proper *projections*. My power went out for 2 hours just before I was ready to post my fixes. Just decided to sleep on it, which also probably gave more time for more people to see. #WeAreWinnipeg

Puljujarvi @ $3,000,000 x 1 year

= $9,178,809 Cap Space to sign Dubois
Then, sign Dubois @ $8,875,000 x 2 Years
*Or @ $9,175,000 x 3 Years. Which is $600,000 more over the first 2 Years.

So $3,809 Cap Space would be left with Signing Dubois to the Max Amount shown. Also Signing Puljujarvi to the required $3,000,000. Then signing the Depth players to $775,000.
Or $3,003,809 to give extra money to the depth players.(If Cap Raises $4.0M) Any savings from Dubois could pay the Depth players more.
Future Cap raises will solve any issues, as it would any team. But I've shown how this is the Perfect Trade and route the Jets could take, even starting the process with a call ASAP.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Jets might fully know what Chibrikov will be but have clearly not know how good Chiarot was actually. Habs won’t simply gave him back to you for basically nothing. I don’t know which world your living in but there literally 16 other team that would offer better. A trade work only when it benefits both team. It’s not the case here when the Habs might never walk right again after getting **** real bad</div></div>

Like I said earlier this is a Trade proposal to get back Perreault(being very nice, as no other teams would trade for him…) and Chiarot.
There is obviously trade negotiations but Chiarot is a UFA, not cheap and a risky move for any team to over pay! Chiarot is definitely not worth a 2nd and a guy who could’ve made the first round or just out of it!

Perreault is near retirement and is a UFA.

But I agree, with retained salary there is more of a price to pay, and a more beneficial trade that helps both teams. As long as at least $550K is retained. Perreault is hardly worth a pick any more and close to retirement. But Chiarot is a very good physical addition but still has a bit poor defensive numbers, and is a UFA. Again, it would be a very risky move for any team to over pay a huge price… I thought about a 2nd, but you wouldn’t get much more or anything at all. A 3rd would probably go with a better pick like a 4th or 5th, obviously Jets will have negotiations. Or there is always other moves to make.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DucharmetheDOMinator</b></div><div>Habs only do this trade if there is another guaranteed trade that we give 1 or 2 of our LD defenseman in exchange for a young center or a young RD. Even if the habs had strength on the right side instead of the left side, they wouldn't do it. Don't get me wrong heinola is an amazing prospect but vesalainen and nikkanen won't move the needle, you would have to add a 1st to this trade also</div></div>

Haha yes! Okay at least we're getting the Talks going somewhere... That Top Pick would be worth it for the right price. Because giving up a 1st AND Heinola is already A LOT.
If you're giving a LD, we'll go for Arber Xhehaj who's at a nice size of 6'4, 220 lbs. He's born in Hamilton but part of his family is from Czech Republic, just like Reichel. They could both get close together with having Czech connections. Jets could keep Xhehaj in the system for longer than Heinola, who has been NHL ready for awhile but not much room.
I feel like if MTL needs to trade another LD, that is for a different trade. Plus the price would raise higher, and the Jets don't need it to get higher than it already is.

If you need a C, we could Trade Toninato, Gustafsson, Smith or Nikkanen. I've already had Nikkanen in the Trade... Toninato is a very solid 4th line C and will fill the spot nicely. Jets will probably keep him, with knowing the Jets systems and already playing key depth roles. Smith is 23 yrs old, but still 35pts in 24 games with a 20+/- is impressive in the NCAA. Gus has taken great offensive strides and has always been a solid defense player that's good on the PK. While Gus was on the Moose he lead the Moose to 2nd in PK at 88.8% before being called up.
Both Gus and Smith are NHL ready and 'very valuable' for any team. Gus will be very hard to move the needle if you're trying to add Gus into the Equation. Smith is who you could trade for without much strings attached.

If you need a RD, we could Trade Kovacevic, Gawanke or Lundmark. I'd add Chisholm and Bauer, but Jet's haven't seen enough of Bauer and it's too early to give him up. Chisholm also plays RD as a Lefty, but MTL's got that spot covered with Niku.
Gawanke took a huge step forward with 18pts in 29 with 11+/-, Jets will want to keep Gawanki or look for a more beneficial trade with Gawanke(not have to give up 'too many' valuable pieces.) Lundmark is just starting his first year with the AHL Moose, and will probably continue to grow with the other young prospects going into next year.
Kovacevic is the only one with no strings attached. He is also NHL ready. With 12pts in 29 with a 11+/-, Kovacevic helps shutdown other teams, while contributing offensively and physically. At 24yrs old, he is 6'4 and 208 lbs. He is probably the perfect choice for RD in a trade. Kovacevic is eligible for Arbitration now. Jets wouldn't have much leverage on Kovacevic for much longer, so it would be good to Trade him in a very valuable trade exchange.

These would be my Potential Trade offers with a C or RD or both;
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 3rd, Heinola, Nikkanen(C) and Vesalainen. Replacing Nikkanen with Smith would replace the 3rd with a much later pick.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 5th, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD) and Vesalainen.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD), Nikkanen(C) and Vesalainen.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 4th, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD) and Smith.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>1.75 million over 4 years is worse than 3 million for 1 year. Especially for a team like seattle who will look to improve over the next 3-4 years.

I just don’t think it makes a lot of sense from seattles standpoint. But also probably too much to give up on wpgs side.

Also is PLD the #1 C now? I think he’s the main piece going forward.</div></div>

Tanev would totally be worth it. I figured it would be another pick or prospect, but I believe Picks would be more valuable to Seattle. So there could be a strong possibility Seattle might listen to ideas on this matter, if there are good valuable picks for them to move forward with. This also realistically fits, so there is a possibility. So the negotiating begins.

I was thinking of putting a 2023 4th instead of the 5th. So there would be a 1st, 2nd and 2023 4th and Toninato for Tanev at $1,750,000, and Appleton. Or Adding another 5th or 4th pick. So that one would be a 1st, 2nd and 5th and 4th/5th for Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton. These are obviously just suggestions for a middle ground and both teams would negotiate, but negotiating to getting Tanev at $1,750,000 for a few years would totally be worth it. GOOD PICKS for Seattle would be worth it.
Jets have their team set for the next few years with most of the Cap about to be signed and locked up, good top prospects ready, they could give up a few good future picks to negotiate with Seattle for a beneficial Trade for both teams.

People tryna downplay Tanev's game don't understand how underrated his 2 way game is, with the limited time he gets. He has a Career 88.3% PK, only 2 teams in the NHL are over that this year(Penguins and Hurricanes), and the other teams are 85.7% PK and under. On a struggling Jets Penalty teams at 70.6%, Tanev would help make the Jets a better team in all aspects of the game. Tanev also has a Career 93.1% oiSv% 5on5. In 325 Games he has 1082 hits with a Career Average 13.29 Ice time. Tanev gets SH Goals and Points too.

Tanev developed a lot with the Jets players, he understands the Jets player and their systems, he has a very good consistent game and would help make the Jets better. Appleton understands the Jets players and their systems too, was a huge part of the team last year too, also with a weaker Defense. Getting both Tanev and Appleton back would bring some strong familiarity and chemistry. It would boost the teams morale and overall help make the Jets a stronger team.

THIS is a very good idea that could realistically happen. Also for Dubois, if he can improve on his 42.7 FO%. Then yeah for sure, he could get more Faceoffs and more ice time during in game scenarios. I love Dubois, I've made many Trades on here with Laine and Roslovic for Dubois. I knew Dubois would be very good for the Jets. Like that was a good realistic possiblity, so is this trade. This would be a trade well worth negotiating.

As for the other comment regarding Sens and Jets Trade, yes there is a strong mutual friendship building that could be agreed upon, with Future Considerations included... Not much risk to pay for with going forward. Without Trading Beaulieu there is no room for 22 players, even with maximizing the retained amounts and getting Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton at $729,000. This is a powerful trade that is worth negotiating to make things happen.
