(Dec. 12) Also forgot to mention that Sam Gagner has played in 991 NHL games. If Sam Gagner is traded to the Oilers, the Oilers could celebrate Sam Gagner's 1000 Games in the NHL. Who the Oilers drafted 6th Overall in the 2007 NHL Draft.
If Sam Gagner is not Healthy Scratched, he would reach his 1000th NHL game on **December 29.* Could also be Healthy Scratched for just 1 game and play his 1000th NHL Game on New Years Eve. ;)

Jesse Puljujarvi is the Perfect Trade for the Jets and vice versa
So before posting, Jets called up Kevin Stenlund and I don't want to put changes on re-explaining to the situation on what I've already talked about.
BUT if it comes down to it, I would keep Stenlund over Capobianco. Also Stenlund can play 9 games or spend 29 days before he needs to clear Waivers again. I would suggest putting Stenlund back in the AHL after 9 games, just because it helps the Jets with not losing a player to Waivers.
Stenlund definitely has a strong case for the 4th RW/C spot, heading into the Playoffs and into the Future. Just focusing on asset management would be very good at the moment.

To add more of an interesting take on "this situation"... What if the Jets Finish First in the Division and they manage to face the Oilers(Wildcard Finish) in the First Round of The Playoffs?!...
Imagine how determined Jesse Puljujarvi would be to beat the Oilers(Even though we could already beat the Oilers without JP.) I WOULD LOVE to see that happen. JP would be a man on a mission to prove himself.

FIXED UPDATED FUTURE 2023-2024 OUTLOOK
I noticed immidiately after posting that I made the honest mistake of not realizing I was doing the *future projections/ money wise projections* without considering Brendan Dillon in the Lineup. But who knows, maybe everything happens for a reason... Brendan Dillon would be the easiest move to add valueable assets back and free up money to Pay Dubois the big 4-8 year Contracts. Because currently we might only be able to afford to pay Dubois a 2-3 year contract. So trading Brendan Dillon would still give those possible 4-8 year contract *Projections* still value.
It didn't even take me a half hour to figure out the current proper *projections*. My power went out for 2 hours just before I was ready to post my fixes. Just decided to sleep on it, which also probably gave more time for more people to see. #WeAreWinnipeg

Cap Space = $68,221,191 with 17 signed
$15,278,809 with 6 to sign
or $4M Cap raise @ $18,278,809 with 6 to sign
Puljujarvi @ $3,000,000 x 1 year
Stenlund, Barron, Samberg, Berdin @ $775,000(1 year) x 5
= $6,650,000 - $15,278,809 (Or $18,278,809 /$4.0M Cap Raise.)
= $9,178,809 Cap Space to sign Dubois
Then, sign Dubois @ $8,875,000 x 2 Years
*Or @ $9,175,000 x 3 Years. Which is $600,000 more over the first 2 Years.
So $3,809 Cap Space would be left with Signing Dubois to the Max Amount shown. Also Signing Puljujarvi to the required $3,000,000. Then signing the Depth players to $775,000.
Or $3,003,809 to give extra money to the depth players.(If Cap Raises $4.0M) Any savings from Dubois could pay the Depth players more.
Future Cap raises will solve any issues, as it would any team. But I've shown how this is the Perfect Trade and route the Jets could take, even starting the process with a call ASAP.

The Perfect Trade deadline move with Copp out get back Perreault and Chiarot

Montreal will take the best deal out there, this doesn't even come close to that. If you truly thought Chiarot was only worth a 3rd you wouldn't be pushing so hard to get him.
As for Perrault I imagine a pick anywhere from a 4th to a 6th is likely enough to get him again though IMO Perrault could get a 4th from a true contender looking for depth and willing to pay for it (there is always a few of these teams). I think Montreal could move Perrault for a 6th but only at the 11th hour if no one else bites for a 4th or 5th.</div></div>
If top teams are trading their guaranteed 25-32 pick, that’s almost a top 2nd pick. Don’t compare that first to a potential TOP 15 PICK

The fact that Chiarot is a UFA have a lot of value for most team since they are right against the cap next year. And there will be no négociation at all if the Jets call Montreal with that ridiculous offer.</div></div>
No other team would pay for Perreault. Would be lucky to get anything from him.
If this were just a single trade for Chiarot, no team would over pay a very huge price for a UFA who could leave after the year…Any team would say that’s way too risky to pay such a huge price like you guys are exaggerating!!
Also Tampa traded for a guaranteed 27-32 pick which ended up as a 32 pick, that’s almost a top 2nd. Also helped Columbus A LOT TO UNLOAD, Which is very valuable in a trade exchange!!!... Especially with the hard Cap situation Columbus had….!!! You can not use that as a measuring stick

Like I said earlier this is a Trade proposal to get back Perreault(being very nice, as no other teams would trade for him…) and Chiarot.
There is obviously trade negotiations but Chiarot is a UFA, not cheap and a risky move for any team to over pay! Chiarot is definitely not worth a 2nd and a guy who could’ve made the first round or just out of it!
Perreault is near retirement and is a UFA.
But I agree, with retained salary there is more of a price to pay, and a more beneficial trade that helps both teams. As long as at least $550K is retained. Perreault is hardly worth a pick any more and close to retirement. But Chiarot is a very good physical addition but still has a bit poor defensive numbers, and is a UFA. Again, it would be a very risky move for any team to over pay a huge price… I thought about a 2nd, but you wouldn’t get much more or anything at all. A 3rd would probably go with a better pick like a 4th or 5th, obviously Jets will have negotiations. Or there is always other moves to make.

Even if the habs had strength on the right side instead of the left side, they wouldn't do it. Don't get me wrong heinola is an amazing prospect but vesalainen and nikkanen won't move the needle, you would have to add a 1st to this trade also</div></div>
Haha yes! Okay at least we're getting the Talks going somewhere... That Top Pick would be worth it for the right price. Because giving up a 1st AND Heinola is already A LOT.
If you're giving a LD, we'll go for Arber Xhehaj who's at a nice size of 6'4, 220 lbs. He's born in Hamilton but part of his family is from Czech Republic, just like Reichel. They could both get close together with having Czech connections. Jets could keep Xhehaj in the system for longer than Heinola, who has been NHL ready for awhile but not much room.
I feel like if MTL needs to trade another LD, that is for a different trade. Plus the price would raise higher, and the Jets don't need it to get higher than it already is.
If you need a C, we could Trade Toninato, Gustafsson, Smith or Nikkanen. I've already had Nikkanen in the Trade... Toninato is a very solid 4th line C and will fill the spot nicely. Jets will probably keep him, with knowing the Jets systems and already playing key depth roles. Smith is 23 yrs old, but still 35pts in 24 games with a 20+/- is impressive in the NCAA. Gus has taken great offensive strides and has always been a solid defense player that's good on the PK. While Gus was on the Moose he lead the Moose to 2nd in PK at 88.8% before being called up.
Both Gus and Smith are NHL ready and 'very valuable' for any team. Gus will be very hard to move the needle if you're trying to add Gus into the Equation. Smith is who you could trade for without much strings attached.
If you need a RD, we could Trade Kovacevic, Gawanke or Lundmark. I'd add Chisholm and Bauer, but Jet's haven't seen enough of Bauer and it's too early to give him up. Chisholm also plays RD as a Lefty, but MTL's got that spot covered with Niku.
Gawanke took a huge step forward with 18pts in 29 with 11+/-, Jets will want to keep Gawanki or look for a more beneficial trade with Gawanke(not have to give up 'too many' valuable pieces.) Lundmark is just starting his first year with the AHL Moose, and will probably continue to grow with the other young prospects going into next year.
Kovacevic is the only one with no strings attached. He is also NHL ready. With 12pts in 29 with a 11+/-, Kovacevic helps shutdown other teams, while contributing offensively and physically. At 24yrs old, he is 6'4 and 208 lbs. He is probably the perfect choice for RD in a trade. Kovacevic is eligible for Arbitration now. Jets wouldn't have much leverage on Kovacevic for much longer, so it would be good to Trade him in a very valuable trade exchange.
These would be my Potential Trade offers with a C or RD or both;
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 3rd, Heinola, Nikkanen(C) and Vesalainen. Replacing Nikkanen with Smith would replace the 3rd with a much later pick.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 5th, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD) and Vesalainen.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD), Nikkanen(C) and Vesalainen.
Or
2022 MTL 1st, Arber Xhehaj for 2022 1st, 2023 4th, Heinola, Kovacevic(RD/LD) and Smith.

BLOCKBUSTER Trade with Ville Heinola as key piece for the 2022 Top Pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Thats ridiculous considering the pick is likely top 10. Also, we have Romanov, Guhle, Norlinder, Harris and Edmundson in the left side which are all similar or better than Heinola.</div></div>
Edmundson is no where near a top pairing or never was, we've already seen what he has in the Tank, which would last decently for while as a bottom pairing guy. No way you say Edmundson is better than Heinola though. That's legitimately ridiculous... Like what?... Heinola is leagues above Norlinder and Edmundson, that's another ridiculous statement.
Guhle is gonna be a superstar defenseman like Heinola, they'll both put up points. But Heinola is NHL ready. Guhle will take another year, and you can't just potentially waste a year.
Also just because Heinola was drafted 20th, don't doubt his skill and skating abilities, he has Top 10 skill from his draft class. And his draft class is good. But Heinola has had major steps in his development and is better than most of the players Drafted ahead of him, he definitely cracks the Top 10 in his Draft Class. Heinola is NHL ready.

If the Jets don't get to the conference final they really need to make a core change and to me one core change would be to move on from Copp, if they're not a playoff lock by this trade deadline he should be moved.</div></div>
This is to lock up Dubois to $8M for 8 years. And get Copp signed at $5M, we could potentially trade Copp later when he's not a potential UFA and hardly attractive in a Trade. I only give Gus and Ves 1 year of minimum before $1.1M would be freed up to give them their slight raise before a big raise.(Extra worth it/bigger pay for loyalty.) But we have to sign Svech a slighter raise than Gus and Ves, who also aren't potential UFA's we don't have to worry about for another few years. If we could Sign Dubois at cheaper, then they'll all be paid better. But we risk not locking up Dubois.... So do we want to try lock up Dubois or play potential pathways??

Winnipeg Jets 2022-23 Trade Schmidt Harkins Toninato for Tanev and Hamonic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BatVader</b></div><div>I’m sorry…. Do you actually have Travis Hamonic on the top pairing???</div></div>
Stanley and DeMelo are an amazing pair together, they will do amazing growing their chemistry stronger. Dillon gives Pionk physicality on his Pairing, so he could be a small really good offensive Dman. So yes Morrissey and Hamonic would be paired together. Hamonic has a more defensive shutdown game and adds physicality. Something the Jets defensive structural game needs, don't need too much offense on the back end and leave too many potential holes. We already have more than enough offensive firepower with the Forwards.
The importance of this trade is getting Tanev, moving money and pieces to fit together in the Cap, while adding a more defensive shutdown game and physicality to the Defense. A different plan would have different players.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>I feel like you might as well just include beaulieu in the trade to seattle, they’re not cap strapped and taking beaulieu just causes less headaches for the Ottawa trade.
At that point you could also just take out the 4th and 6th and make it a 2nd.
Also as for Dubois, if he improves in the dot he could for sure be the 1C.
I miss tanev a lot, especially on the PK as he’s just a little buzz ball. Jets played a very strong game against St. Louis and I expect to see that continue. I think Lowry will be good, he’s tough and holds people accountable.</div></div>
%100 percent agree with everything you said.
Also regarding Tanev... I wonder if he'll get so hyped up joining the Jets again that in his Seasonal picture, we'll see an even more hyped up crazied photo haha.

Think there’s definitely a trade to be made for tanev.</div></div>
Yeah I know Tanev is a very versatile and valuable key piece on any team. Small error on the second paragraph, but I did say an extra pick. What I meant was a 1st, 2nd and 4th and adding a later pick like a 6th or 7th, along with Toninato for $1,750,000 retained from Tanev till 2025. Possibly even a 3rd, along with the 1st and 2nd with Toninato. This would be a powerful trade that will bring strong Familiarity and Chemistry to the Jets.

Bring back some Familiarity
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>1.75 million over 4 years is worse than 3 million for 1 year. Especially for a team like seattle who will look to improve over the next 3-4 years.
I just don’t think it makes a lot of sense from seattles standpoint. But also probably too much to give up on wpgs side.
Also is PLD the #1 C now? I think he’s the main piece going forward.</div></div>
Tanev would totally be worth it. I figured it would be another pick or prospect, but I believe Picks would be more valuable to Seattle. So there could be a strong possibility Seattle might listen to ideas on this matter, if there are good valuable picks for them to move forward with. This also realistically fits, so there is a possibility. So the negotiating begins.
I was thinking of putting a 2023 4th instead of the 5th. So there would be a 1st, 2nd and 2023 4th and Toninato for Tanev at $1,750,000, and Appleton. Or Adding another 5th or 4th pick. So that one would be a 1st, 2nd and 5th and 4th/5th for Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton. These are obviously just suggestions for a middle ground and both teams would negotiate, but negotiating to getting Tanev at $1,750,000 for a few years would totally be worth it. GOOD PICKS for Seattle would be worth it.
Jets have their team set for the next few years with most of the Cap about to be signed and locked up, good top prospects ready, they could give up a few good future picks to negotiate with Seattle for a beneficial Trade for both teams.
People tryna downplay Tanev's game don't understand how underrated his 2 way game is, with the limited time he gets. He has a Career 88.3% PK, only 2 teams in the NHL are over that this year(Penguins and Hurricanes), and the other teams are 85.7% PK and under. On a struggling Jets Penalty teams at 70.6%, Tanev would help make the Jets a better team in all aspects of the game. Tanev also has a Career 93.1% oiSv% 5on5. In 325 Games he has 1082 hits with a Career Average 13.29 Ice time. Tanev gets SH Goals and Points too.
Tanev developed a lot with the Jets players, he understands the Jets player and their systems, he has a very good consistent game and would help make the Jets better. Appleton understands the Jets players and their systems too, was a huge part of the team last year too, also with a weaker Defense. Getting both Tanev and Appleton back would bring some strong familiarity and chemistry. It would boost the teams morale and overall help make the Jets a stronger team.
THIS is a very good idea that could realistically happen. Also for Dubois, if he can improve on his 42.7 FO%. Then yeah for sure, he could get more Faceoffs and more ice time during in game scenarios. I love Dubois, I've made many Trades on here with Laine and Roslovic for Dubois. I knew Dubois would be very good for the Jets. Like that was a good realistic possiblity, so is this trade. This would be a trade well worth negotiating.
As for the other comment regarding Sens and Jets Trade, yes there is a strong mutual friendship building that could be agreed upon, with Future Considerations included... Not much risk to pay for with going forward. Without Trading Beaulieu there is no room for 22 players, even with maximizing the retained amounts and getting Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton at $729,000. This is a powerful trade that is worth negotiating to make things happen.

Trade for Appleton bring up Gus With Wheeler out and assuming Pionk good soon
Scheifele is meant to be put with Connor and Dubois. And then Stastny-Copp-Ehlers is the 2nd line. Still a solid Top 6 that can put up points.
With Wheeler out and no natural Right-handed to play in the Top 6, Scheifele would move to the Right side on a line with Dubois and Connor.

The Canadian division sucked, not sure Appleton and Lowry have the same kind of season under normal circumstances.</div></div>
Most of the points Copp got with Stastny and Copp were on the PP, besides a small stretch of about two weeks and maybe around 7 games with about 8-9 points. That's all Copp really played with the Top 6, outside of the PP. He got majority of his points on 5on5, and he played around 40 games with Lowry and Appleton. He got majority of his points with Lowry and Appleton, so you are wrong. They also played against the other teams best and shut them down, while scoring 5on5 with a significantly weaker D.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>I see what you’re saying for sure, but it’s undeniable that Copp becomes an offensive black hole when he plays with Lowry. Before moving into the top 6, the most points he ever had was 28 in 82 and that was with Lowry. The jets need secondary scoring, putting Copp with Lowry immediately takes that away. He’s on pace for 63 points this year. Crushing any of his previous career bests. I just think it would be counterproductive to move him back.
I think if Appleton could be had for a 5th or even just dumping beau for him I’d do it. Because it’s worth the chance. If he doesn’t work or mesh again, they didn’t give up much.</div></div>
Did you know I came up with an interesting way to Trade for Boeser and Hamonic too, but we'd have to Trade Schmidt and premiums (for Boeser), Hamonic would take his spot on the Right side too. Like we could fit this into this year, even with 23 roster spots. I know Jets love getting Minnesota players, and Boeser would not be far from home. Hamonic is from Manitoba too.
Just imagine this Top 9
Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
Copp-Schiefele-Boeser
Stastny-Lowry-Wheeler
