Haven't read through the post history but yes LTIR players can be traded, Hossa, Bolland, & Clarkson are all good examples

It could happen but equally as possible, the Canucks could pass on the Russian haha.
The Fox deal is highly unlikely. I think it was Friedman that said Fox would like to go to NYR but Carolina wants a 1st rounder.
Also Panarin is going to want max term as well.

I don't think Washington does that trade now. Burakovsky is playing really well as of late, and I'd think his value has increased because of it.

I like the Fox idea. If Fox decides to play his senior year, a trade won't be necessary. They can take their shot at signing him next year. He might be enticed to sign in Vancouver, due to their lack of depth on the back-end and Rathbone being a teammate of his.
The Calgary trade would be difficult. That would be a significant trade within a division.

Dallas does this work
Honestly, this is pretty spot on. Honka desperately needs a fresh start. Tufte could turn out to be a good middle-6 power forward sometime over the next few years as well. Granlund would likely get stashed in our bottom-6, but Tanev would be a good piece in rounding out the Stars top-4. Having him and Klinbgerg on the right side of Lindell and Heiskanen would set the Stars up for the next few seasons. I like the deal by both sides.

Trade with Carolina
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBB</b></div><div>No No No No. Why would this make any sense. 1st off Pesce is very meh and is not a point producer on the back end. I would want Hamilton 100000x more than him. For that price I can almost guarantee Buffalo would give up Risto or Montour and I would much rather have either of them on the back end.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ForsbergForVezina</b></div><div>I think Carolina wins this going away. Is Markstrom really the future in Vancouver or have they just soured that much on Demko?</div></div>
I wouldn’t pay that price for Hamilton because he’s a UFA in 2 years. Pesce is controlled for 5 more years at a decent price.
The premise for this deal is that the Canucks have a need at RHD and Pesce can be a first pair defensman with Hughes. The Canucks have an area of strength at goal.
Demko will return more than Markstrom or Diepietro.
Might be an overpayment so maybe don’t include the 2nd. But Carolina would want more than Demko

RHD upgrades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AudioCats</b></div><div>Not a fan of the BUF trade. Sobotka doesn't really work as a cap dump because we don't need to make room over the off-season and his contract is done after next season (when we do need to sign a bunch of people). Risto is our only competent top-4 RHD (and one of our grittiest players) so the price should be higher than a bottom-six forward, a small, middling RHD, and a pick that's too far out to help soon.</div></div>
I agree that giving up Ristolainen weakens the RHD, I am looking to next year and the future, this trade opens up $4,000,000 of cap next year. Add the cap increase (about $4,000,000), Moulson (another $4,000,000), Pominville ($5,000,000) and the current cap space ($3,000,000) that opens up $20,000,000 more than enough to sign Skinner and every other RFA and try to land other quality players. Just a thought.

OK, I am going to get a lot of Sabre fans to say I am crazy, but I make that trade without question. Granlund could take Sobotka's spot on the PK and add scoring. While Stecher will never make any one forget about Ristolainen, he is solid, then the Sabres get a first. Let's make a deal! :cheers

I don't doubt that he probably could, I think that you would much rather throw Kylington to the wolves than Hughes at this point! I don't mind the trade, from a very biased standpoint it is tough to give up Bennett in and divisional deal. There is nothing flashy coming back in the deal to CGY but a lot of very solid depth which would help them a lot I think. I don't know if I would make the move but the value is there I think.

At this point of the year Kylington would be the best option on the left side of that D core, going forward Hughs obviously projects to be much much better, but right now Kylington is looking really good.

Hamilton would be on the top line

It’s just a bad trade, it’s oversized undervalued and completely unrealistic.
You could actually cut Buffalo out of the trade and it would actually make more sense for both teams.

bud, not one person has agreed with you on this 3way trade. & by my count, there's 3 people agreeing with the points I've made on it. if Guhle can't beat out Matt Hunwick right now, you might wanna rethink how good he is right now. & trust me, I'm not a bandwagoner. I don't even like the Sabres. I just know hockey. and I know a heck of a lot more than what you think you know.

But I'm just a biased Sabres fan, I need to learn my place and understand every Sabres prospect is a bust and everyone else's prospects are first ballet HoFers. No one the Sabres draft will ever work out and the second they hit 19 they are already busts and they'll have no opportunity to play in the NHL. Pominville has been praised for his defensive responsibility as an offense player and is a plus 53 for his career, but what do I know, I've only watched him for 15 years now</div></div>
<strong>But I'm just a biased Sabres fan, I need to learn my place</strong> ... yes. that's about the only thing you said that was right. if Guhle was as good as you say he is and he was a "lock" for an NHL spot on Tampa's defence, he'd have no problem making Buffalo's terrible defence regardless of his age. if he can't beat out Matt Hunwick, he's not as good right now as you say he is. & LOL.. plus/minus is one of the worst stats in hockey. Everyone knows that. doesn't matter if Pominville is a +53 or a +153, it's a very overrated stat that doesn't tell anything about how good a player is defensively.
now goodbye.
