Players that the Rangers should kick tires on
Considering we'd be trading TK within the division and the number two rival after Pens, I could imagine they want a haul from you. But then again, could also retain and you can't find better player for that money.
Most likely Othmann/Perrault, 1st + something.

Yeah can see why the TK deal would seem underwhelming, though Brisson did show promise this season

Add Othmann there and you may have conversation, they're not trading TK retained + (likely) early 3rd for 2 late firsts within the division.

If it'd be CGY 1st, then yes as it should be top 15 pick, but the condition is that it'll be FLA 1st instead if I'm not completely wrong. And then it's not that good deal. Late 1st vs ~40pick ain't enough to take Gallagher.

100% my friend. I think he'll extend around 9M$ which we can afford tho. Cap goes up to 92M (Estimated but likely) when his extension would take effect. On top of Girouxs deal coming off etc we'd have 8-9M$ even after the Konecny deal to bring back Giroux if he wants and look into the goalie market~

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>Only if he is still an RFA at the end of a 2 year bridge deal then yeah it’s still an easy deal to take</div></div>
I believe he would still be an RFA in 2 years since his ELC is just ending. I like that plan a little more because if they did a 2 year bridge for maybe 4-5mil per and then signed him for 8 years in 2026 he would be under contract for the ages 22-32 and wouldn’t have a heavy cap hit for a player in the twilight of their careers like what is happening with Coots and what will happen if they give TK 8 years.

Also, i like Lundell and I didn’t realize he is still so young but thats a HUGE contract for a guy who hasn’t really produced at a high level yet. These playoffs have been his breakout but its a small sample size. Do you think the Flyers would still make that trade if he was to bet on himself and ask for a bridge deal? Maybe 2 years. For that contract to be worthwhile, his production would literally have to double.

But again the coach and GM of the biggest club in Russia doesn’t say they are working on legal proceedings with a player unless the player is in the process of buying out his contract</div></div>
There are ways to circumvent this. The flyers can put some escalators in his contract and his agent can finance the buyout and can be paid back later. There is some precedent for it. In my opinion, they should definitely do whatever it takes to bring him over. However if he waits 1 more year it would be most advantageous for the team as his elc would slide and the team will be out of cap hell with Atkinson, Petersen, and Johansen to build around him. But getting him here is the biggest hurdle so if they can; they absolutely should.

I accept and find a 3rd team to take on Marner for prospects, picks - like Buffalo. Marner to Buffalo for Savoie +.
Also, you could acquire Laughton for Liligren and have a great 3C.

Marner hasn't been playing at a selke level this year and Torts doesn't necessarily like players who are good at defense, but players that are willing to put everything on the line to win games and play hard no matter what. Marner isn't that.

Flyers aren't interested in Marner. They need a center not another RW.
Flyers aren't desperate to make the playoffs at all. They aren't going to rush for playoffs in a rebuild.
And lastly Marner being coached by Tortorella would just be the best Drama show in the NHL.

You’re right though there aren’t many examples of teams trading 5+ years of a bad contract but I think the value is adequate</div></div>
There is no world in which the Flyers have any interest in this kind of a trade. First, they would be trading Couturier at his absolute lowest value, which is bad business. Second, and perhaps more important, is the Flyers are owned by Comcast, and one advantage of deep pocket ownership is that they don't need to chase cost savings at the expense of the roster and future prospects of the team. The Flyers are not the Winnipeg Jets. They are not parting with valuable draft compensation critical to their rebuild to save some cash.
