Sanderson Performance Bonus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TkachukNorris79</b></div><div>Straight from this very website:
"Performance bonuses count against the salary cap; however, a team can exceed the salary cap due to performance bonuses by the maximum performance bonus cushion amount of 7.5 percent of the upper limit."
I'm not sure how Norris' LTIR factors in but I don't think Sanderson's performance bonuses factor in at all, and if they do Staios would be wise to just play the last 19 games with a trimmed roster as opposed to carrying over that $1M hit to next year.</div></div>
Thank you, I did not know about the 7.5% upper limit. But I believe how it works from what I read is since Norris is on LTIR, his cap hit will be used as part of that calculation. I am not sure if the team is allowed to say something like, if we had Norris on the roster they could trim the roster down to be well below the cap ceiling. I am just assuming the worst to not be caught off guard. I would be very happy if the Sens didn't have this carry over, because that would essentially allow them to burry Hamonic as a scratch all year unless they can trade him (99% doubt).

I also had text for people to read and I guess it didn't post. But anyways, he will easily reach $1M performance bonus and will not achieve the additional 850K.

They do if the performance bonus causes the teams cap hit to exceed the salary cap ceiling, which it will since Norris is on LTIR.

I think trading Brannstrom would be a big mistake. If Chabot, Chychrun, Sanderson or any mix of the 3 get hurt, he is the only one who can fill there spots right now.

Vegas has Howden, who is under investigation for the exact same thing

I agree. That's why I think Holden and Hamonic should be the 2 rotating in and out. Even though I want Branny to stay, he would have so much more success if he was traded.

Next Year with Joseph Extension
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Formenton won't play another game for Ottawa imo. Either he's involved and he's as good as done in the NHL, or he's not, in which case he's a luxury Ottawa can't afford on the 3rd line and their best NHL asset in a top 4 D trade.
If Søgaard builds on the season he had last year, I would be betting on him jumping to the NHL next season. If Forsberg can be close to where he was last season, they can confidently run that tandem.</div></div>
With Formenton, I might as well slot him in while we are still in the unknown. I think Ottawa keeps him this year and then trade him next offseason where Greig can come in the top 9.
Goalies are always weird, so I rather him start in the AHL than him ride the bench if Forsberg is playing well to not ruin his development.
But very good points!

How so? C. Brown can easily get Chicago a 1st round pick at minimum at the deadline. Joseph is a legit top 9 NHL player, Brannstrom can fill that spot Boqvist should be in right now as a top 4 PP2 guy, Gus is a potential NHL starter and a 1st round pick that can be a top 6 player in no time and Zaitsev is just for cap and I heard Chicago is interested in him.
