If Carey Price does not return
Would have to be 2022 2nd round pick (MON) (33rd) for consideration, though Canucks likely will not trade their 1st considering the talent available.

about 99% of the Habs calls were better than any comment you made in the 500 comments you made this week. What did you say Chariot was worth ? No wonder the entire NHL laughs at nucks fans ...
2 1sts , a first rd prospect (barron) bunch of seconds and prospects. Cheers

Busy Offseason for Joe Sakic

Quoting: GMs

What is the minimum you could see COL doing with Kadri
Is 3 years 7M AAV is realistic or not enough money and/or terms ? If the sign Kadri 3 years 7M - Kuemper 4 years 5M AAV - Nichushkin 4-7 years range around 4M AAV - Lehkonen 3–4 years range around 3.75M AAV - then you can have all those guys but you still need to get rid of Compher, I don’t know if he has negative value

So I’ve retyped this like 6 times. $7M is that line kind of in the sand. Landeskog is $7M but his has a the max NMC $7M. No I don’t think they go to $7M, do I think they go 4x6 w/a NTC. I think you’re spot on with the others maybe a little more for Kuemper AAV. If Kadri took that Burakovsky is gone but it gives them the basis for the top line, Kadri and Nichushkin anchoring the 2nd line and Lehkonen and Newhook anchoring the 3rd.
Compher gets irrational hate on CF. He only has a year left left, he plays all the forward spots, plays special teams and Bednar never hates to drop him into the top 6 when somebody is out. That all being said I think he is an easy move if they want the space.

They’ll probably be a playoff bubble team. Poolman and Dickinson aren’t good and shouldn’t be on any NHL team for anything more than League minimum. Benning screwed this team with all his bad contracts.

It is hes a dman in his 30s who fundamentally cant play defense on a multi year contract. The habs would be better just signing wideman again than throwing their cap in the toilet.

This summer
People don't appreciate retention for multiple years enough. It's a limited resource (3 per team), and the potential return value added for rentals alone, normally exceeds what the proposal offers.
$2.2M is roughly the value of a 3rd round pick. For three years, that's three 3rds.
Dvorak was just acquired for a 1st and a 2nd. Montreal isn't about to flip him at a significant loss after one below average, issue-plagued season.
Even if Montreal did decide to cut bait, they aren't going to move him at 50% retained for a pair of 3rds.
Pitlick is likely matched at that price.
A free 3rd isn't a bad return for a waiver pickup, but he's shown enough to suggest he can be a contributor at the NHL level and have a positive impact on the team.
Even then, you're better off proposing a trade than going the offer sheet route.
If Montreal is ready to let him go, he won't be that difficult to acquire. If they want to keep him, you're not offering enough to change their mind.

Do you seriously expect Yzerman to pay assets for a 34 year old 3rd pair defender costing over 6 million a year and can't be bought out due to his contract structure?
PS. The 3rd RD is Lindström who's 23 years old and scores 0.26 points per game compared with Petry's 0.28.

HABS will take that deal but would not retain salary, so this would be a 3 way trade with either Arizona or Seattle to take the retention for a draft pick that the HABS would send

Probably because Barrie is the Dman but is still outscoring Hoffman. I do like the foundation of this though, Edmonton could use help on the wing and MTL could use help on the d right side. The Habs would definitely have to sweeten the pot but I like where your head is at.

Quoting: Xqb15a

That’s NEVER happening keep Lehkonen.

Well, well, well...
Based on reality, where we were asked to come down to, our sources were actually right about Barron being available AND our idea, which was NEVER happening (note the capital letters, making it a stronger argument), actually happened less than a month later.
The lesson here isn't that you were both totaly wrong, which you were, but that your opinions were stated without any nuance or humility and with total disregard for the ones of others you could had actually learned from.
When you are rude in disregarding someone facts based opinion, dont be mad when reality comes back slaping you in the face by having your own competent and experienced GM proving you wrong.
Congrats on Lehkonen. Best of luck in the playoffs. Looking foward to have a smart conversation with you before the draft.✌️

Don't see the need to send prospects to Seattle to only slightly improve. Especially since Dvorak is younger and has a smaller cap hit for less years.
