Its pretty much the same he had before except now he has a NMC so we have to protect him in the expansion draft

And who do you take out of the center line in your top9? Domi with 72 pts? Danault being one of the best 2 way center we had since plek top seasons ? Or kotkaniemi with all the incredible potential?

Domi on the wing is always an option if need be.

Kulak
Olofsson
At the end of the day, I would say that we're better at D in the AHL and we got rid of a contact.</div></div>
I'd say at the end of the day we got the 2 best players. Bitten was going to be on the 3rd line at best in the AHL with potientially starting the year on the 4th

Good trade for Montreal. Gives them a better defenseman, while getting rid of a contract.

Montreal Canadiens signed Paul Byron (4 Years / $3,400,000 AAV)
A solid move by Bergevin.
Wow. Writing that was harder than I thought it would be. The AAV for a 20+ goal scorer is spot on. He will only be 32 when the final year of the contract kicks in so I don’t have as much concern for the term, unlike others. While the Habs are “reloading” they have to keep some complimentary veteran pieces on hand to flesh out their Top-9. Gallagher & Byron make a solid foundation on which to build their forward ranks. (Their defence tho - that’s a whole other story).

(MTL / CGY) - Shinkaruk for Rychel
Fair deal, maybe edge to the flames, I think Rychel's size and power game would be slightly more useful to the smallish Habs even though the league is rapidly moving away from the rough stuff, but on the other hand the get a centre so that adds value. Ultimately a swap of 2 guys on the NHL bubble who may never really make it, but will both thrive in the AHL where I presume they will make most of their starts.

(CAR / BUF) - Pu and picks for Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GaryMcBettman</b></div><div>It seems clear to me that the asking price at the time of the trade was a 1st rounder for Skinner.
They obviously didn't get it and it reminds me of the Galchenyuk situation because MB wanted a 1st as well.
If I am a MTL fan, I am glad today that MB got Domi instead of a bag full of meh.
What do you guys think?</div></div>
that second rounder could be mid 30 pick and if Carolina thinks Pu is nhl player then Carolina do well on the trade if you're trading for futures. montreal was right in getting a player for galechenyuk. for chucky and domi, maybe the trade helps their careers.

Max Pacioretty trade proposal
It would have to be agreed upon in principal that Pacioretty will resign with the Hawks, not be a condition. If so then Yeah Im good with it. If he won't commit to resigning I don't think this is the best move for the Habs.

Max Pacioretty trade proposal
I think you're right that Montreal can live with picks and prospects, but having them retain salary on two players when you've got room under the cap for both isn't going to happen.
Teams are limited to retaining salary on three players at a time, so if MTL are thinking of rebuilding, this keeps them from retaining on Alzner and Weber at the trade deadline.
Habs fans' opinions on Jordie Benn are mixed, sure, but he alone is just about worth forsling, before you start retaining salary on him.
If the Hawks want more cap relief, and you don't want to indulge Montreal's need for a good center, toss in Kruger. Then you can still send that lowball offer to Nash, or pick something up at the deadline.

draft trade for patch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GaryMcBettman</b></div><div>Maybe I wasn't clear about a few things.
I agree with you that this deal would have a positive impact on the Panthers' lineup right away, but only on the offense. I think we can agree that even if Reilly is playing about the same average ice time compared to Matheson (21 min), it's only because he has some kind of chemistry with the best defensemen left (Petry) on a really bad team. I don't know where you saw that they have the same amount of points, but according to HockeyDB, Matheson has more points this season alone then Reilly over his carrer in the NHL. So they would need another LHD to fill the 2nd spot, but they have no other player coming up in the farm exept maybe Max Gildon who is their last year 3rd round pick, so he's still too youg for the NHL level.
Second, what I meant by money being a problem is not about the cap, it's about the ownership. 3-4 years ago, Doug Cifu said that his team was losing money with a really bad attendance rate of 14,177 in average. During last season, it was only at 14,620 so we can assume that the money issue is still there. That's why Borgstrom has an incredible value for that kind of team considering he signs his 3 year ELC while being nhl-ready.
Third, I get that 30 goal Patches is a bargain right now, but wait until he asks an extension at aroud 7-8M AAV in only one year.</div></div>
alright, I see your point,
then they should move to Québec city ;)

Realistic 2018 summer for the Habs (Well, mostly)
Not bad, just some tweaking. I really do not see A. Shaw as a #1 RW. He never did that in OHL or NHL. He is more of a #3 RW. Personally I would try to move him. On D. If Habs get Dahlin, that would be amazing but I doubt it. I think Mete, Juulsen and reilly are all good adds and finds and will eventually be solid players. I liked you kept Niemi, he has played lights out since coming to MTL.

No not #1 but maybe #2. I just want Drouin and Galch to play wing. An id don't really want tp trade Patches. Maybe we can sign a temporary #1.
