If you switch kaliyev for pinelli I would be good with that offer. My dream offer fromthe kings would be Spence, turcotte, kaliyev and mid round pick for saros and fabbro

Not comparing the two but in terms of this trade, Nashville has no need to do this.</div></div>
Exactly could you imagine forsberg on the leafs he would have just as many points or more. This is a lateral move for Nashville. You add nylander in the offseason to pair with forsberg if you want nylander.

I don't like the idea of acquiring Hertl. He's never been an elite level difference maker. At 30, with so much term left, I'd be worried NSH would be acquiring another Johansen or Duchene buy out/retention situation to deal with a couple years down the road.</div></div>
Hertl doesn’t have any help in San Jose but is still is getting points. I’d rather have lindholm over hertl though because I think lindholm and forsberg could form a nice Swedish connection.

High hopes but Nashville isn’t selling. A first round exit has become the goal around here in Nashville. I thought trotz was about to rebuild when he traded Joey and bought out Duchene so I thought the saros trade and rebuild was imminent but then he goes and signs 3 aging vets and we sit in a wild card but again waiting for our first round exit. Trotz is Poile jr

Worth it for both teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>Let's not let the description of "wonderful" gloss over the fact he is a top 5 defenseman in the league. Yes, eventually he will decline and yes he could probably be had for less. We'd still be holding on to Cowan, Knies, Woll, Nemiela, Hildeby, Tverberg, Grebyonking, Lisowksy, Kokkonen etc, but this would very much set our cup window.
Trenin is not a 4th liner, that only shows your ignorance. The reason he is there is to give Matthews/Nylander a puck retriever with speed and size, who can also finish in tight and would do so a lot more playing with those two.
Bush could probably be had for less, but we already know what type of defenseman compliments Rielly, and we already know those two have chemistry.
Brodie would not get the same package as Tanev because he's not as good, but regardless I'm not trading for Tanev here so your point is Irrelevant. He is the furthest thing from a "stud" at this point in his career and that should be obvious to anyone watching.
This team would be far and away the favourite to win the cup. That is the best forward core in the league, with amazing talent, balance and depth throughout.
We know Rielly and Lyubushkin can work as a 2nd pair. Benoit and Timmins have been great as a 3rd pair and should only improve given where they're at in their careers. McCabe has been great and Josi is literally one of THE BEST defensemen in the league. The goal for this team is to win the cup, this season is our best chance to do so with Marner, Nylander and Matthews due raises, Tavares gradually declining, Knies and Woll on their ELCs, McCabe on a retained contract that expires the year after this, Domi, Bertuzzi, Benoit, Timmins and Gregor on solid value contracts, etc....
I wanted to overpay to prove the point that we could have this for less. Would it cost this much in assets? Probably not. That said, can you tell me with a straight face that this team would not be clear favourites to win it all this year and likely for the next few? I hope not, because this team is absolutely elite....</div></div>
You’re not getting josi for this or less. Nothing significant is coming back to Nashville to even think about this. Trotz would hang up so fast he’d hurt his arm

I think forsberg and lindholm could have some good chemistry. I wish we could find someone that has good chemistry with forsberg….. oh we did now he’s in Dallas

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>Hahaha, I don't really have strong feelings about McCarron - really! If NSH can get a pick for him at or before the deadline, great.
He is what I want out of a 14th forward though. A good locker room guy, a vet who's development won't be stunted by sitting out of the lineup for weeks at a time, someone who can take and throw a punch without embarrassing himself.
I wouldn't be opposed to taking a chance on Höglander, but I like ****emo more (I haven't watched Foudy enough to have an opinion on him). I don't see the point in giving up any sort of asset for him though, when guys of that ilk can be had for free on waivers.</div></div>
I like that trotz is taking a chance on these waivers. Foudy hasn’t put it together but was once considered one of Columbus’s top prospects. He is fast exactly what trotz wants.
