Of those 15 teams who isn’t rebuilding. If you’re wanting top prospects more than half of those teams will not want to give any of them up. And the fact that marner has to waive to those teams too. Marner isn’t gonna want to go to bottom dweller.

But Vegas doesn’t have any cap space. Getting hertl takes them out of the marner sweep stakes and by the way Nashville is a no state tax as well

Just curious who can fit marners contract in? Not many teams have the cap space for an 11 million dollar guy. We shall see what happens. We be an interesting offseason for Toronto. Do they stick with the team they have or will they retool.

We’ll wait till he’s a free agent then. Everyone knows Toronto is gm trying to mover marner. Tavares isn’t gonna waive so paying marner will only leave Toronto where they been for years not good defense and bad goalie play. Turning marner into saros fabbro if they want him instead of schenn a 1st and say pesce then they become a more complete team

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>I definitely see your point. He was probably a bottom 3 goalie in the NHL this year but I think that some teams would think they can "fix him" with their superior defense and get him back to being an average goalie. Also, the goalie UFA market this year is pretty weak so that might help. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if teams demand a huge sweetener to take him.</div></div>
We’ll take him off your hands for pinto lol

Stamkos plus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>Thats very true, but in that case, would the additions of Stamkos and Batherson not be enough for that? With Evangelista playing with higher quality linemates I imagine his scoring touch will start to come out. You could also put Tomasino on that line instead and move Nyquist down to play with Novak to have both Tomasino and Evangelista playing in the top 6. It’s more just a thought on saving money in order to do something about the right side because after McDonagh it looks, less than ideal. I'd personally rather use that to go sign another RD, especially if we are moving on from both Carrier and Fabbro.</div></div>
I would be good with that giving 2 of our ypung players top line minutes with top players and maybe sign zadarov instead march to make our defense better

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>100% agree with that. Save the extra money and retain Fabbro and run him in the top 4. I also don't think Molendyk makes the team immediately. I could be wrong, but I think Ufko has a higher change of making the team day one compared to Molendyk.
Lines look more like
Forberg - ROR - Nyquist
Batherson - Stamkos - Evangelista
L'Herueux - Novak - Tomasino
Smith - Parssinen- SIssons
Josi - Ufko
McD - Fabbro
Statsney - Schenn/Lauzon
My only big concern is with that Stamkos contract, that is a lot of term and money to be giving someone in their mid 30's. Yeah, it is Stamkos, and he could pull a Crosby and deny the affects of age for the next 4 years, and if that happens, then great. But I'd be hesitant to give him that term especially when we have Svechkov waiting in MKE and looking pretty good for his first season in NA. Not to mention we would then have Fabbro, Evangelista, and Askarov to sign the next season. Maybe more like 6.5-7M if we are giving that much term, but I'd rather see Stamkos signed to a 2-3 year deal at 8M if we are giving him that much money.</div></div>
I went with molendyk because I believe if given the opportunity he would flourish in burnettes system. I agree we could save money by not signing march but I’m so sick of every year saying we need secondary scoring. I believe this solves that. Actually gives us 2 pretty good top lines

Personally, would save the money on marchessault and just roll nyquist up there with forberg and ror. Evangelista would look good with stamkos and batherson or novak converted back to wing. Brunette is going to want to run a grinder 4th line.</div></div>
Orielly was playing wing a couple years before he came to us. I’m sure stamkos can still play center

O’Reilly almost made forsberg a 50 goal scorer. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued but it will depend on the package and contract

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AK50</b></div><div>I'd steer clear of Marner for Saros. We need a #1 center and Marner isn't that. However, if Marner signs an extension under 10 mil, I'd consider if he comes with a 1st and Minten and NSH gives back Pars and Del Gaizo.
I'd keep both. It'd be a fantastic tandem.</div></div>
Problem with keeping both is their ages and contracts don’t mesh well like Rinne and saros’s did. You sign saros to 8 years and you’re blocking askarov till 30 to become a starter because you don’t want to pay for a 8 million dollar back up

I know I wouldn’t want to add too much more to saros from this pred fans. Marner may be elite but he also comes with a big price tag. And getting rid of that contract helps Toronto fill more needs on the defense. If they could Marner into saros and say pesce then I think they have a better all around team. I’m hesitant on Marner because will he be able to produce without an elite center

50 in 57 playoff games. I wouldn’t call that not performing in the playoffs. I’m neither for or against a Marner trade. If we could get a 90+ point producer I would be happy but his next contract is something I’m against. 9.5 million is all I think he’s worth though
