<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OrganizedConfusion55</b></div><div>I have never liked Cozens. And for all the hype, he hasnt done anything in the NHL, and doesnt get on the scoresheet nearly enough. I mean rookies like Mercer (really?) , Seider (rookie dman on a team just as bad as the sabs), Zergas (who I wanted to take at 7) and so on are outperforming him.
Not mad at him, not sure why people cant have takes on players.</div></div>
Hockey isn't just about points. His whole scouting report from Juniors was that he thrives in transition and makes things happen while driving into the offensive zone. You're just being so incredibly biased and blinded by that, that you don't want to see how he's a good player. A remarkably good one for his age, too. Being a centerman is a lot harder than playing on the wing, you're responsible for a much larger section of ice and have to play within the most contested areas.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OrganizedConfusion55</b></div><div>Cozens isnt going to be a NHL center imo. Krebs will take that spot from him, he has way better vision on the ice. If Cozens stays in Buffalo, he will start playing more at wing imo.</div></div>
Also yeah wtf is this. He has 35 points so far on the season, good for the top 60 of ALL centers to play at least 15 games this season. That puts him firmly in 2C production. If that isn't an NHL center based off points alone, then what the hell is an NHL center? Only Barkov's and Matthews' allowed? He's outscoring other centers in his draft class like Dach, Newhook, Krebs, Tomasino, and McMichael.
He's 8th in scoring for all NHL centers under 22. Like honestly, what the hell more are you asking for?
I can understand takes on Mitts or Bryson or Olofsson or whatever, but this is just the worst thing I've seen on a site <em>full</em> of terrible ideas.

Yikes that Cozens take is awful. What's up with BUF fans still wanting to be perpetually angry at something with this team? Cozens has some of the best possession, neutral zone, and controlled entries statistics on the team. He's a monster in a lot of ways that doesn't automatically equal points, and even then, he's gonna put up like 40-45 pts as a 21 yr old. He's still got room to grow and has an ideal skillset to support the offensive, technical talent we have on the wings.
Plus he absolutely goes to war for this team, which no trades can buy.
Seriously this is shocking, like worse than Shibbal's takes. Jesus.

Tuch obviously is not going to be traded.
He grew up a Sabre fan and he is realizing his childhood dream <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFox23</b></div><div>Add a prospect or a pick...no skin off my back</div></div> First, at this time, neither of them will be traded unless it is a gross overpay.
Second, unlikely either would be traded to a division rival.
Third, Granato has instilled team chemistry and camaraderie, trading 2/3 of the top line would destroy that.
Fourth, if you offered that for Thompson, or Tuch Karmanos may still say no.

In 2017-'18 I was excited as well.
Top six Eichel, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Okposo, Kane and Pominville
Baptiste and Bailey tearing up the AHL in Rochester.
Defense: Bogosian, Gorges, Beaulieu, Antipin, McCabe, Scandella, Ristolainen
Lehner in net.
The Hockey Writers predicted they would end the drought and make the playoffs.
Oh we did get Dahlin as a result of that season.
<strong>Big Difference, Granato is behind the bench.</strong>

When I saw the trade I thought the same as <a href="/users/Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</a> a third would be a good return for Anderson.
But <a href="/users/GenW" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@GenW</a> and <a href="/users/Lenny54" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Lenny54</a> you make a good argument that with Anderson they may make the playoffs.
From many other teams, a third would be a fair return, from Vegas I would want a <strong>second</strong>.

It included Eakin. He wins about 56% of his FO and can PK would he be a player who could fit into the Oilers playoff push?</div></div>
Personally don’t see a need oilers have a really good pk as it is. It went threw a slump but just about every aspect of the team did looks like getting back on track now doubtful that would be an area looked at too closely. Aside from that oilers depth down the middle is already stacked mcdavid Leon nuge Mcloed as the regulars with addition internal options with Ryan shore turris. I struggle when doing this to even find a spot for Holloway which I’m sure the team wants to get a look at some point in near future so guy like Eakin could help someone just wouldn’t see as a fit for Edmonton. Probably look to add a scoring winger perhaps depth d maybe veteran goalie although think that’s a complicated tough situation.

the feeling I get from TML fans is that if Buffalo took on Ritchie's contract, they might be able to drag something else out of Dubas. Not the worst idea for the Sabres.

2 TRADES AND 2 UFAS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>I do not understand the obsession Buffalo fans have for Cernak.
If they swapped uniforms and Jokiharju played for Tampa, and Cernak played for Buffalo, everyone would be agree Henri was the better of the two.
Buffalo has one good scoring line, one top defenseman and one 40 yo top GK.
Look at Corey Perry, with dozen goal already this season, his highest total in 4 years.
Put him a Sabre uniform he would not have half of that.
Let's just stop giving up first round picks just because a defenseman shoot right handed and plays two more minutes per game than Zach (OMG) Bogosian for a Stanley cup team!
Well that is my rant of the day, as I would rather keep the first and try to sign a decent (Klingberg) or great (Letang) UFA RHD.
Both just may relish playing next to Dahlin or Power.</div></div>
Cernak > Jokiharju
Perhaps Jokiharju is one of the most overrated players fans Buffalo. Maybe it's the Nylander effect that we traded the capricious Alex and got a young defender who really played well and consistently only in the third pair with Scandella. Look at how many mistakes Jokiharju makes, he has as many if not more mistakes than Dahlin, but at least Dahlin very good puck movers and is much better in offensive. That's my opinion, but Jokiharju is not a first-pair defense player, he probably wouldn't even play second-pair in a good team. I think he heavily overrated and nothing special.

Jarmo might let Bean go for your first next year and a late first this year. We gave up a second for him this year and his value has skyrocketed since then. He has been better than most people's best case scenarios. Additionally, he is controllable for a long time and at a position where we have zero depth. Gonna take a big overpay for Jarmo to even answer the phone on him.
